View 1 RepliesI recently bought a new laptop with windows 7 home premium pre-installed. My former laptop had been hibernating whenever I seemed to use more than two or three programs at once. While trying to add to my music library I found that I couldn't playback some tracks without a license for those tracks. When I tried to get a license i was told that i didn't have the 'windows media services plugin' installed. I went to Microsoft and tried to find it and I couldn't. I tried to find a way to contact them directly and couldn't. From where I can get this plugin?
View 2 Replies View RelatedJust got a new notebook and Java is installed (64 and 30 versions), but it is not working. I am using IE 9, Windows 7. I checked all settings in IE and they are correct. Web pages using Java do not load properly and I cannot install Mcafee software.
View 3 Replies View RelatedShe did the annual update and it failed leaving no copy of the program on the machine.Long story short I got her into her Mcafee account and dl'd the updated version. It would not install because of a Java error. This is also the problem preventing with her logging onto her bank account. So I updated her Java to version 7 and confirmed it on Java's site.Still no joy. Mcafee will not install for the same reason and by the way, she is updated to SP1 on Win 7.I'll put a log from TSG SysInfo up a bit later.
View 14 Replies View RelatedI have installed the latest version of Java, and have used the command prompt to verify that I do indeed have Java. I can also play Minecraft, which requires Java. I can not enable Java in Chrome or Firefox even though both of the settings claim that Java Runtime is enabled.
View 2 Replies View RelatedWhen I try to install java because my browser says it's not installed it says it IS installed. So it asks me if I want to reinstall that's fine too. Then it gives me an error message saying that you can only do that if it's already installed.I can't find folders of it it's not in the add/remove programs list either.

I tried to install java several diffrent ways, but none of them seem to work.
I downloaded and tried to install the 64 bit version offline and online.
I downloaded and tried to install the 32 bit version offline and online.
Restarted computer multiple times.
Sometimes it says "Java cannot be installed due to your current internet settings"
Or sometimes it says "Thank you java has been installed successfully- then when I go to java website I click on "do I have java?" Its always NO
Yeah. I tried basiclly everything, Im about to smash it
Oh. Its an Acer ASPIRE 5534. Win 7 home premium, 64bit.
My installs of Windows 7 was working fine and all of a sudden it wont boot anymore. Yesterday I put in a required Java Program update install and I think Windows just added a couple of critical updates as well. I have tried booting in every way possible, rolling back, safe mode, etc, and nothing works.
I keep getting the screen telling me there is a problem and must do a system repair. Then the repairs and all it wants to do is shut down. I managed to pull up some error reports and it seems two files are corrupt which are TCPIP.SYS and one called FWPKCLNT.SYS.
TCPIP.SYS is located in C:/WIndows/System32/Drivers
FWPKCLNT.SYS seems to be in drive F:/ which is not an actual drive. It must be a temporary boot drive created by Windows 7.
I have an older XP on another partition on the same hard drive so I booted in XP to see if I could possibly delete the reported corrupt TCPIP.SYS file and replace it from another Windows 7 install from my laptop just to see if that might work. But it wont let me delete the TCPIP.SYS file. It says it is in use, but I can't understand that since I am trying to delete it from the Windows 7 partition while I am booted up from the XP boot partition.
I can't open certain programs, as it says that I don't have the correct java, or its not recognized. I've always had java before, and when I tired to update, it was telling me that it either A. Couldn't do it, or B. It wasn't installed for some kind of error. I've deleted the java, and redownloaded it, and still the same problems. Also, on the automatic updates, its not letting the windows 7 SP1 update either. Maybe has to do with the Java, or vice versa?

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have a Toshiba laptop, using Windows 7 (64bit) with IE9. I use Gmail and have installed their Notifier. When I attempt to use a webpage link to send an email or document, I get the error message, "default email client not properly installed".I have no clue what this means or how to fix it, so I attempted to research it online.I'd like to keep this a simple as possible. Can anyone walk me through the steps? I think I'd like to use Google & not Windows Live (have no idea why though), then I heard Post Box Express was simple, then I was told to press 'options' in my Notifier, but that went nowhere.
View 7 Replies View RelatedI have a new pc with a Gigabyte GA-H67MA-UD2H-B3 motherboard and I plugged a Microsoft 600 Wired Keyboard into the rear port (designated for KB/Mouse by Gigabyte). The keyboard works in the BIOS, but when Windows 7 loads, the num lock light switches on, then Windows 7 says that "Driver not installed properly". In the Devices & Printers window, it shows an icon of the keyboard with a yellow exclamation mark and says "hardware not available". However, mouse continues to work. This happens in all the rear USB ports. If I plug the keyboard in the front port, Windows recognizes the keyboard, install the correct driver and it works! All the USB ports work fine otherwise (tested with thumb drive as well as mouse). I also tried with a Logitech K120 wired keyboard which also had the same problem.!!
