I am using a new ivybrdige computer running windows 7 and i have found a problem. I tried to respond to a "contact us" link on the manufacturers website and the follwing message appeared:-"could not perform this operation because default mail client is not properly installed". I understand that the 64bit Internet Explorer cannot be set as the default browser.I have downloaded windows live mail however I cannot set this as my default e-mail client. I have accessed the Start/set program access and computer default/ custom/ and it simply says " use current e-mail program there is no option to select windows live mail as the default. I miss be missing something, probably blinding obvious to you but to me

I purchased an HP Pavillion All-In-One with Window 7 pre-installed on my computer. I successfully downloaded windows live mail. However when I try to send e-mail through my Verizon with msn mail account, an error message appears stating "email client not properly installed". If anybody has any suggestions, directions or help it would be greatly appreciated.

It seems all the usb ports do not work on my laptop. My usb mouse doesn't work, and my other usb devices do not work either. All the usb drivers are installed properly as detected.
I have a Toshiba laptop, using Windows 7 (64bit) with IE9. I use Gmail and have installed their Notifier. When I attempt to use a webpage link to send an email or document, I get the error message, "default email client not properly installed".I have no clue what this means or how to fix it, so I attempted to research it online.I'd like to keep this a simple as possible. Can anyone walk me through the steps? I think I'd like to use Google & not Windows Live (have no idea why though), then I heard Post Box Express was simple, then I was told to press 'options' in my Notifier, but that went nowhere.
I have a new pc with a Gigabyte GA-H67MA-UD2H-B3 motherboard and I plugged a Microsoft 600 Wired Keyboard into the rear port (designated for KB/Mouse by Gigabyte). The keyboard works in the BIOS, but when Windows 7 loads, the num lock light switches on, then Windows 7 says that "Driver not installed properly". In the Devices & Printers window, it shows an icon of the keyboard with a yellow exclamation mark and says "hardware not available". However, mouse continues to work. This happens in all the rear USB ports. If I plug the keyboard in the front port, Windows recognizes the keyboard, install the correct driver and it works! All the USB ports work fine otherwise (tested with thumb drive as well as mouse). I also tried with a Logitech K120 wired keyboard which also had the same problem.!!
so out of the blue my internet stopped working and only mine (our house has 3 computers). i am the only one hooked up wit ha cable and i have tried 3 different cables, it keeps telling me the same thing "install a driver for your network adapter"so i went to the device manager and tried updating the driver of the network adapter but its telling me its up to date....the small text says word by word :"Windows did not detect a properly installed network adapter. if you have a network adapter, you will need to re-install the driver."
i had installed windows 7 in my laptop, but accidentally i installed it in D-drive,now both C & D drives are showing program files, program files x86,windows folders,my D drive is full
I have an inspiron 570 desktop with 4gb of ram already installed. I went on crucial, and it found compatible RAM, 1gb 240pin ddr3 128mx64. When I opened my computer up, there were 4 slots, 2 blue ones with the default ram, and 2 open black ones. I couldn't get the ram to seat properly, it took a lot of force to make it click on one side, it wouldn't clip on both sides at once. And I'm sure the ram was in all the way, because if I applied any more force I would snap it.
trying to reinstall windows 7 on my laptop with a new hdd. it installs the os but wont read the hdd to boot, but it does see it in bios. trying running maxblast and wiped it clean but same prob still. noticed in maxblast that hdd is designated as drive d instead of c.
My desktop PC running Windows 7 64 bit behaves erratically when I close it down using the Start Orb - shut down button. Sometimes it closes down fully on other occasions the computer goes into a deep sleep, (the hard drive light continues to flash, the fans are running, the monitor screen goes off) but it will not respond to either the keyboard or the mouse, both of which are connected by USB cables.I then have to close down the computer by holding in the power button for about 10 seconds. When I next require the computer it boots normally and seems oblivious to its shut-down problem.I always ensure that no programs are running when I shut down the computer and cannot see any clues regarding what I was last doing before shut-down that might trigger a problem. I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling the USB device drivers to no avail.
I am running windows 7 and my cd rom is not working properly. It was reinstalled which seemed to help a LITTLE, but sometimes you have to incert a cd 7 or eight times before it will read it. I can see that there is a cd inserted (when I go to my computer I can see the D drive). Just doesn't read them all the time. I have a Dell with a vertical cd drive. When I view it through the control panel it says my driver is up to date.
