View 1 RepliesI'm working on fixing a Toshiba Satellite laptop. It is a very years old and I reformatted it and tried Windows XP and Windows 7. I installed the Realtek audio drivers straight from the website (HD Audio Driver) but no luck. The Windows Update driver gives me a RTKHDAudio BSOD and I tried fixing that with some advice online to no avail.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI installed my audio driver for my gigabyte ud3 b3 motherboard. I got the driver from gigabyte's website. It is the 64 bit windows 7 version. Now I have realtek hd audio manager installed. I have a set of speakers plugged in which I know work because i plug the cord into my iphone and the speakers work great. Now I plug into the green input hole (which by the way, I should say that everything worked great before I recently reinstalled windows 7). When playing music I look at the mixer and see that all programs playing the music and the speakers have the green bar going up and down to the music. But the bar that says system sounds does not report any sound ( no green bar going up and down).
View 3 Replies View RelatedI think I got all my drivers figured out except for the sound card. I've tried the Lenovo site but it says Vista should use the Microsoft drivers and those don't seem to be working. In Device Manager I see "Multimedia Audio Controller" with the ! icon by it. "The drivers for this device are not installed. (Code 28). There is no driver selected for the device information set or element. To find a driver for this device, click Update Driver." I search for updates and find nothing... I tried the XP version but that didn't work.
View 6 Replies View Relatedi built myself a new computer and it has an ASUS Rampage 3 Formula motherboard which has:SupremeFX X-Fi 2 built-in 8-Channel High Definition Audio CODEC
- Supports : Jack-detection, Multi-streaming, Front Panel Jack-retasking Audio Feature :
- X-Fi Xtreme Fidelity™
- EAX Advanced™ HD 5.0
- THX TruStudio PRO™
- Creative ALchemy
- Blu-ray audio layer Content Protection
- Optical S/PDIF out port(s) at back panel
I install the Realtek audio driver software and i get access to all my cool EAX advanced HD, THX truStudio etc.. things on that list BUT i get crackling noises every now and again when playing music/games whatever.
However i uninstall the audio driver software and i get no crackling sound when i listen to music or such, but i cannot access any of the features anymore.Whats going on here? its not the speakers or headphones i use, they have been tested on multiple devices, this only happens after the audio driver is installed and the audio features are activated.
My PC spec is:
CPU: Intel i7 980 3.33Ghz 12mb cache 6 core
GPU: 2x GTX 460 1GB
MB: Asus Rampage III Formula
RAM: A-Data Plus v2.0 XPG 2GB 1866Mhz 8-8-8-24 x3 in triple channel
SSD: OCZ agility ~400-500mb read&write
HDD: 1TB 7500RPM WD caviar black
this is all brand new, i just finished building it all a while ago, so there is like no crap running in the background like viruses or unneeded programs.my speakers are just small desktop 2W speakers, and i also use iPhone headphones, i have tried using the front jack on my pc & the rear jack (one that says "front" and is a light green colour) i get the noises nomatter if its headphones or speakers.
if i chage audio drive to nvidea from my graphics card and plug speakers into audio jack on my monitor which gets the HDMI audio from the GPU i get perfect sound.Uninstalling Realtek audio driver makes my pc use a microsoft audio driver it must have default, but it sounds fine.i just cant do ANY of the audio features available from the motherboard without it. and i worry its not HDMI/cinematic surround without this?
The sound is choppy most of the time.
View 1 Replies View RelatedSo I was having some audio problems with my computer so I figured updating the drivers would be the best bet. I decided I'd use one of those programs that can check your driver and download the driver you need. I followed the instructions and installed what seems to be called AmdEHCI onto my computer. Now whenever I turn on my HDTV which I have connected via the HDMI on my ATI Raedon 6950 the audio claims that it is not connected. Now every time I want audio to come out of my HDMI I have to disable to display and then re-enable it. I used to be able to turn my TV on and off whenever I wanted and I would still have audio functioning properly.Something that caught my attention was that when I left the properties window opened for the HDMI audio and then turned on my TV I would get a message that says "The device you are configuring has been removed." even though I haven't touched anything other than the power button on my TV to turn it on.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have an emachines em355 netbook with a Windows 7 professional in it. My webcam doesn't seem to work. I mean, it's working but i need a third-party application(Skype, webcam browser app like Neave) in order to use it. The device manager says it's installed and works just fine. How can i access my webcam directly? I saw other laptops and they have this webcam icon when you open My Computer. Mine doesn't have any. Also, I installed every available/recommended/compatible driver, each was installed perfectly but still, no direct access to webcam.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have a new pc with a Gigabyte GA-H67MA-UD2H-B3 motherboard and I plugged a Microsoft 600 Wired Keyboard into the rear port (designated for KB/Mouse by Gigabyte). The keyboard works in the BIOS, but when Windows 7 loads, the num lock light switches on, then Windows 7 says that "Driver not installed properly". In the Devices & Printers window, it shows an icon of the keyboard with a yellow exclamation mark and says "hardware not available". However, mouse continues to work. This happens in all the rear USB ports. If I plug the keyboard in the front port, Windows recognizes the keyboard, install the correct driver and it works! All the USB ports work fine otherwise (tested with thumb drive as well as mouse). I also tried with a Logitech K120 wired keyboard which also had the same problem.!!
View 2 Replies View RelatedFirst of all my computer specs listed are for my home laptop but my question is for my work PC which I recently upgraded to Windows 7.upgradede my work PC from XP to 7 a few weeks ago. Prior to the upgrade I ran the upgrade advisory tool and I knew I would have a few minor issues (this being one of them) but for the most part everything should be fine. My problem is that I cannot get my audio to work. I have an exact same machine still running XP and according to that, my audio is using a realtec ac 97' audio driver. I have obviously tried searching and downloading of windows 7 compatable drivers for that hardware. but nothing seems to work.
First of all every driver I have found and tried are self installing ".exe" driver files and cannot find anything where I can manually install through the "add new hardware wizard". The problem with the .exe files is that some of them say "this version is not supported my this version of windows" others freeze halfway through installation, and others seem like they have installed correctly giving me a prompt saying so and requiring me to restart, but once restarted, still nothing.I have also tried running each of the driver installations in "XP compatability mode" but still the same problems described above. I had a similar issue with my graphics driver and solved it by installing a legacy driver for it. I have tried the same for this audio driver, but like I stated before I only have .exe installation files and cannot manualy search for the driver to install the legacy driver. I do have the original driver (XP driver) that came with my computer and obviously tried that one, but notihng I have tried has worked for me.
This is my first build, and my mobo is an Asus P8Z68-V Pro and have a 64 bit Windows 7 Home Premium. I've been having a lot problems since day 1 of using it, but the most annoying of all of them is that I can't get any sound from my computer.Connected my iPod to my monitor (Asus VE247h) the speakers work fine.Tried changing the audio settings in BIOS... nothing Tried uninstalling and reinstalling the realtek driver 3 times...same problem?

I updated my audio driver in the device manager and it installed Conexant High Definition Audio Driver 221. After installing that, my audio completely stopped working. Also, that my headphones are working but only the speakers have stopped working. I have checked all the settings and also I don't think there is any problem with the hardware.

View 9 Replies View RelatedI've recently installed Windows 7 Professional on my Dell Latitude D810. After the install, I lost all audio capabilities. My volume controller in the quick launch bar states, "No Audio Output Device is installed." I ran the "Detecting Problems" to try and fix the drivers, but it wasn't able to fix it.
My next step was to check the Dell Drivers and Downloads website and they don't have an audio driver for my computer with Windows 7; however, I've read on other websites that people have had no audio issues with installing Windows 7 on their Latitude D810s. Others have claimed to have had issues, but to have been able to find drivers to fix their audio problems.
Through various websites and downloading, I've tried the following driver executables: D810_A05.exe, R99254.exe, and S1wua01i.exe.
Does anyone else have any other driver recommendations? Or links to other drivers I can at least try?
I recently installed a new graphics card and upon turning my computer on (Win7 x64), the sound doesn't work. The sound icon has a red 'x' over it and it says "no audio device is installed". In 'Device Manager', the drivers are installed and without incident.

View 7 Replies View RelatedEnglish is not my first language so I'm not familiar with the Computer Science vocabulary. I've had a Pavilion dv9700, Model # dv9819wm, for approximately 2 years. My hard drive failed and the guys at my school were able to recover 60 GB of files but most of them don't have an ordinary format. They are just saved on a folder on my desktop. They installed Windows 7, (It was Windows Vista before the failure) and I've been having problems with the coprocessor and "ethernet" drivers. Yesterday I uninstalled the "ethernet" driver and when my laptop rebooted the audio driver was nowhere, (obviously I have no audio), which was surprising since that was not the one I uninstalled. My Sound device is not shown on Device Manager either. I uploaded some applications that identify missing drivers and apparently the sound driver is the newest one available. I got on BIOS and the sound button was enabled. I went to HP's website and the only audio drivers offered for my laptop model were for OS Vista. When I try to automatically install the driver from another HP application it says something like my "Compatibility..." is not permitting a correct installation. First, what is going on? and is there any way I can get my pictures and videos from those 60 GB into a normal
