I have tried two pairs on headphones and my tv speakers all with the same results. I have looked at all the balancing end everything is set to even on both channels.

I first noticed this problem when I tried to open iTunes and it came up with the message 'iTunes has detected a problem with your audio configuration. Audio/video playback may not operate properly'. I also cannot listen to music or things online either.I have looked at my computer's device manager and can't find any catergory such as 'sound, video and game controllers', which one site suggested to try and check the sound card. I have also tried to update quicktime but that did nothing. I have also tried looking at 'sound' and under both the playback and recording columns it says that there are no audio devices installed. THis appears to be the common phrase along a problem with the audio configuration. This has not ever happened to my computer before and I have had it for about 3 years now. It is a toshiba laptop with windows 7 home premium.
View 5 Replies View RelatedSo i have a headset i use for gaming and it has a headphone and a mic jack, at the moment i have it set up so i can hear my xbox 360 and my computer sound at the same time with my xbox sound coming from the line in jack. When i try to use my mic however it uses my xbox sound instead i can get my mic to work if i unplug the line in jack coming from my xbox but then i cant hear my xbox. So i was wondering if there is anyway i could use both at the same time.

View 5 Replies View RelatedToday I noticed all my audio-devices in the audio menu were gone except for my USB Headset, I have my speakers connected with a normal cable and these did not show up. I checked my device manager and indeed it showed yellow exclamation marks on the Realtek high definition audio and AMD HD audio drivers. Strange, so I installed the newest realtek drivers, and at the end of the installation this caused a "ks.sys error" blue screen. Trying to reinstall the drivers in safe mode works fine, but when logging back into windows I get the blue screen. I can use windows just fine with my headset plugged in, but I'd like to be able to use my speakers again.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI like to play different games, and stream movies or shows at the same time on my TV which is hooked up. I recently upgraded my comp to a full custom build (z77 sabertooth, i5-3570k, 16GB ram, Windows 7 Professional 64 bit) and can't figure out how to set my audio playback devices to play separately. On my previous comp, which had Windows Vista Home Premium, whenever I changed the default playback whatever audio was playing already would stay on the devices it was playing on and whatever new windows I opened would play on the new default device. I've looked and looked but can't find any options similar to this.
How can I set my comp so that I can play one audio through my tv and separate audio through speakers?
My PC is connected to two monitors, one to EVGA GTX 560 Ti 448, the other to IGP, both with DVI-D. The former is the main, mostly for me, while the other is used for my wife to watch streaming video. This setting has no problem when I do web surfing or work on office, but reveals an issue when I want to play game, because of two different audio sources - streaming video vs. game. First, I enabled multiple streaming device on Realtek Audio Manager, and then set a game, Portal 2 in this case, audio to headphone. But still two audio sources are being played on speaker.
My System:
i5 2400 - HD2000 enabled
MSI H67MA E45 B3 - onboard Realtek HD Audio
Windows 7 Ultimate 64 SP1
I'm running Windows 7 Professional, Asus P8Z77-V LK motherboard, and an Asus 660ti.I want to have 3 devices connected through audio out.My monitor connected via HDMI, 2.1 Logitech speakers via a headphone jack, and my Astro Mixamp also via a headphone jack. However with the current setup I can't have audio play through my monitor while the mixamp is connected. Is there a way to fix this with software? Either the Realtek HD Audio Manager or the windows audio manager? I want it to output to both so I can simply take off my headset when I want to use the monitor speakers or mute the tv when I have my headset on. I don't want to have to unplug the mixamp in order to use the monitor speakers.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI have an HDTV connected to my computer to serve as a monitor. I used an HDMI connection so therefore I get the computer's sound through the TV. I also have a 5.1 digital surround system that I use, connected through a Optical Digital Audio Cable.
Now my problem is, I can change between the 2 devices by going into "Playback Devices" (right clock the sound icon in the bottom right corner) and then setting either audio device as the "Default Device". However I want to play audio from both of them at once, that way I don't have to switch the settings everytime I decide to use surround sound.
Is there any simple way to do this? Or do I just have to resign myself to switching in between each time?
My specs are
Asus M5A97 motherboard
Asus Radeon HD 7850 graphics card with HDMI out (this is what my TV is connected to and gets Audio through)
Realtek HD Audio (onboard), I have both regular jacks and an Optical jack, I use the optical jack for my surround sound.
I have windows 7 prof desktop runing which was being by an user who left the company without giving password. Now i want to try to recover password .I tried ophcrack tool but it was struck. Even from safe mode command prompt, it prompts me password. So i am struck here.

It will sit there with the "Logging Off" message on the screen indefinitely.I cannot start Task Manager or do anything else at that point except a hard shut down.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI recently went into my computer to install a Corsair H80 Water pump for the GPU. Anyhow, after i connected all the cables and turned on the computer again i did not have any sound. Even though im not an expert with computers, i'm pretty sure all the cables are connected right (but there is always a possibility i screwed up there).I do have sound devices, that is not the issue. After the first pc boot i had the Realtek digital output (realtek high definition audio) as the sound device. I went into the control panel and pressed sound. The previous audio device (that i had and was working) was there, but stated as "Not plugged in".So, my computer does not detect or react as i connect any headsets nor speakers. I also checked the audio in the mixer to see that it "plays sound" which i can confirm.I have searched the web for people with the same issues and tried a few "solutions" but none of them worked for me.They were:
1. Uninstall and reinstalling the drivers
2. Making sure i got the latest versions of the drivers
3. Turning on the front jack panel in the Realtek HD Audio Manager, which resulted with the speakers apparing to be connected and works according to the computer but still no sound.
4. Tried different speakers and headphones.
After trying several things im starting to believe it might be me who failed at connecting the computer. But if so i have no idea how to fix it, as it does not matter if i connect the audio cable instead of the HD audio cable or if i leave them unconnected. My os is Windows 7 Ultimate.I got an Intel motherbord DX58SO and my sound device/card is Realtek high definition audio?
Recently my audio manager pops up advising that I have diconnected my speakers however, I'll be listening to music or watching tv with no sound loss or interuption. Device manager indicates all drivers are up to date (vers: 6.0.1.6251). What's causing this and how do I correct it?

View 1 Replies View Relatedsplitting audio to two separate output devices in windows 7 x64.I'm preparing my primary PC to act as a Media center. Ideally I'd like for someone to be able to watch netflix, or online videos on the TV with audio and video running through the HDMI cable while someone else can use the PC monitor & desktop speakers to game or do other tasks. The issue is both gaming applications and chrome (or other web browsers) only support audio playing through the default audio device in windows 7. As a result, i'm forced to pick whether i want all audio to play from the TV speakers or the desktop speakers.
Summary of Specs:
Asus M2N-Sli Deluxe mobo - rear port used for desktop speakers
Radeon HD 6870 - HDMI for TV sound
Athlon 64 x2 6000+
4 gigs ram
Doing some research I've learned this was a feature in win XP but was dropped in vista/7. On windows 7 support forums the Microsoft Support reply that it was an intentional omission win both windows 7 and vista.I know how to direct the audio from winamp, media player classic, and WMP to the output device of my choosing.I have tried three third party applications:Virtual Audio Cable: lets me play the same audio out both the HDMI connection and the desktop speakers.IndieVolume: shows promise as it lets me direct audio from applications to the output device i choose, but all attempts to get the software to change my web browser's output device haven't worked. I also think the software is not supported for windows 7 x64.J River - Media Center 17: media center software with an embedded web browser. Using this media center i can direct the audio from any media on my computer to the audio device of my choosing, but the embedded web browser plays out of windows default output device not the audio device i choose.
I have a dell latitude laptop D610 and I absolutely cannot get my audio to work after i installed windows 7. I have went everywhere and checked every forum i could find and i cannot find any solutions. i have installed and uninstalled and restarted my comp dozens of time with no results.
View 9 Replies View RelatedI've recently installed Windows 7 Professional on my Dell Latitude D810. After the install, I lost all audio capabilities. My volume controller in the quick launch bar states, "No Audio Output Device is installed." I ran the "Detecting Problems" to try and fix the drivers, but it wasn't able to fix it.
My next step was to check the Dell Drivers and Downloads website and they don't have an audio driver for my computer with Windows 7; however, I've read on other websites that people have had no audio issues with installing Windows 7 on their Latitude D810s. Others have claimed to have had issues, but to have been able to find drivers to fix their audio problems.
Through various websites and downloading, I've tried the following driver executables: D810_A05.exe, R99254.exe, and S1wua01i.exe.
Does anyone else have any other driver recommendations? Or links to other drivers I can at least try?
I recently installed a new graphics card and upon turning my computer on (Win7 x64), the sound doesn't work. The sound icon has a red 'x' over it and it says "no audio device is installed". In 'Device Manager', the drivers are installed and without incident.

My hard drive failed and the guys at my school were able to recover 60 GB of files but most of them don't have an ordinary format. They are just saved on a folder on my desktop. They installed Windows 7, (It was Windows Vista before the failure) and I've been having problems with the coprocessor and "ethernet" drivers. Yesterday I uninstalled the "ethernet" driver and when my laptop rebooted the audio driver was nowhere, (obviously I have no audio), which was surprising since that was not the one I uninstalled. My Sound device is not shown on Device Manager either. I uploaded some applications that identify missing drivers and apparently the sound driver is the newest one available. I got on BIOS and the sound button was enabled. I went to HP's website and the only audio drivers offered for my laptop model were for OS Vista. When I try to automatically install the driver from another HP application it says something like my "Compatibility..." is not permitting a correct installation. First, what is going on? and is there any way I can get my pictures and videos from those 60 GB into a normal
