Disable Test Mode Watermark But Keep Test Signing Enabled?
Mar 10, 2011I've been using my Ps3 controller as an alternative to an Xbox 360 controller on my PC (to play games with a gamepad) but in order to use my Ps3 controller as a makeshift 360 controller, I need test signing enabled.
Unfortunately with test signing enabled I get a big ugly watermark at the bottom right of my screen, as far as I know the only way to disable this is to disable test signing, otherwise it just won't leave! Is there any way I can get past this and somehow keep driver test signing enabled but get rid of that horrid watermark ruining my gorgeous wallpaper?
Java Only Working In Safemode?
May 15, 2011I just performed a complete re-installation of Windows 7 Ultimate x32 onto a friend's Acer Aspire 5920 which was previously running Windows Vista x32.
All was perfect until I installed a Java and a program that needed it. When I ran the Java dependent program, it came up with an error message stating that Java Runtime Environment was either missing or outdated. I then uninstalled Java and reinstalled directly from the Java website. However, on the verification screen after the installation, my Java was not detected and I was told that "Something is wrong. Java is not working."
I followed the troubleshooting instructions on the website and alas it still will not work/be detected.
I then went searching around online for answers and I ended up doing a clean boot in safemode. There I disabled all running services that were not from Microsoft. Then I revisited the Java site and it was able to detect it. However, after rebooting to normal windows Java still can not be detected even with not running the services I turned off in Safemode.
Java 7 Not Working In Any Browser
Oct 2, 2012I'm using java 7 latest version.I've installed the 32 version and am using windows 7 x64. Java is not working in any browser. I've uninstalled all browsers, reinstalled them, removed older versions of java and the current one and reinstalled it. I've also been into the Java settings to ensure Mozilla is enabled. I've also turned off all firewalls and virus software. Nothing is working and I'm out of ideas.When loading the java splash screen shows and it looks like it will load, but then it fails, always with a ClassNotFoundException.

In any browser.... they didn't work in the previous versions before i updated both Firefox and Chrome.As far as security software that I'm using, I've tried disabling all of it, and still have the same issues. Those programs are: Spybot S&D, AVG Free, Comodo firewall.Here's a good example of a java thing on a site that won't work for me.Covers.com has a login / password thing in the top right corner of their main page. I punch in my name and password, and neither hitting enter nor clicking on the Login link do anything. But I am experiencing this type of issue on many other sites. I can get on my laptop and go to the same sites and I have no issues, so it's something to do with this OS. Unfortunately, my laptop charger was lost so that's not an option. Plus, I'd really like to be able to use my tower for everything I do on the web.

Background: The app spawns a separate job via a Java thread and continues on while the spawned job executes. In other words, 2 things happen at once.
Problem: On Windows 7, when the app spawns the job, Windows sits and waits for the spawned job to complete before it continues on. In other words, 2 things DO NOT happen at once. It's as if Java threading does not work in Windows 7.

Oct 1, 2011i only ever use firefox, and would always keep it and other programs such as flash and java up to date. one day, some websites just quit working, like facebook, Internet, netflix, and various game sites. this problem continued for a few weeks, and i didn't do anything to try and problem solve it. then everything seemed to magically fix itself, so i figured that an automatic update had done the trick. however, a few months ago those problems started again and since then i have read many threads on how to fix them, uninstalled and reinstalled ff, java and flash countless times, including past versions of all of them. i even tried using ie and chrome, but i had the same problems with those browsers. as of right now, i cannot view flash based game sites (such as omgpop). i used to not be able to play games on facebook, but as of yesterday those suddenly work again. i cannot watch streaming videos on netflix, but Internet works fine. i cannot view content on many web pages (for example google images does not work at all, nor does googlemaps or mapquest). some pages only load partially even though it says they are 'done'. i often see 'javascript:void(0)' on websites. currently i am running the current versions of java and flash and ff 3.6. i have checked pop up blockers and script enabling and just about everything else. i am at a total loss of what to do. (even as i am typing this, i cannot click on any of the text editing tools or smilies and this is showing up as one big paragraph...)

Jul 15, 2011Yesterday while watching an online baseball stream and simultaneously browsing facebook, my computer randomly gave me an error message. Unfortunately I don't remember what the message was about. What I do remember is that I immediately opened a new firefox tab and searched up the error. I clicked on the first link, and the OP was talking about how he had received the error and shortly after, his computer shut down. Almost on cue, my computer crashed and restarted itself.Ever since then, I can't boot up my computer properly.I turn on the computer, I see the first two screens that I always see (BIOS screen and then the 'Detecting eSATA drives' screen). After this it goes to the third screen, which I also always see. But this is where the problem is.First it loads all that code crap that I never understand. Then, like always it gives me these two lines: 'Verifying DMI Pool Data....'And then 'Boot from CD'. This always happens. But regularly from here it just boots up and goes to the Windows loading screen.Now, on the same screen, it starts giving me error messages.

Before, I was also getting the error message 'PXE-E53: No Boot Filename Received' prior to the media test failure message. After I unplugged and replugged my internal hard drive (some forums were saying to check the cables for the hard drive) the first error dissapeared.I have a Windows 7 Ultimate 64-Bit OS. I bought the computer second-hand off a guy who was selling it online. He didn't have any of the CDs, so my copy of Windows 7 is burned (though I do have the CD still). Before yesterday it was working fine.All I want to do is to be able to get into the computer (Hard Drive) once, so that I can backup all my files and then I'd reinstall Windows 7 from scratch.

Aug 20, 2010I am on the tail end of building my system. It has been quite and experience so far. After an already successful first build, the computer is OC at 3.9 ghz stable but then I felt the urge to upgrade my sole 1TB hard drive ( 32 MB Cache /3 mbs ) into a RAID 0 configuration,using 2 brand new WD 1TB hard drive, 64 MB Cache / 6 mbs, which my Asus supports. I am assuming that this will seriously improve speed and performance.trying to figure out the RAID setup in BIOS and a clean install of Windows 7 64 bit, I finally got it to work. The computer is now operational. But there is only concern I have...
I can't tell any MAJOR improvement ! A slight improvement in speed when I change windows and programs is notice.In addition, the transfer rate when I moved files to the new RAID was quicker at around 88 MBS. Why I am concern is because my Windows system assessment's score for hard disk transfer rate is only at 5.9, which is low and the same as before. Everything else is at 7.5 or higher. Also, I was hoping the load times of my files ( the thumbnail previews ) would increase in speed, but appears to be the same. I am somewhat certain that my RAID setup in BIOS was done correctly. The system is seeing one drive with a 2 TB capacity. I use my computer to do a lot of hd video editing.
1- Is there a way or to test, monitor, or tweak my RAID 0 setup for optimum performance?
2- Am I actually getting the best out of RAID 0 and my expectations were just too high?
3- Are there specifically " one " type of RAID 0 setup? ( I just want to eliminate the possibility of setting up RAID 0 incorrectly in BIOS ).

Test All Memory At Once With Memtest?
Sep 3, 2011I am trying to diagnose a problem with my machine, and in so doing I have run memtest overnight (to test all 8GB of RAM--which takes about 12 hours). However, I've read various places that memtest is only reliable testing one stick at a time (I have 4x2GB). I didn't get any errors in 7 passes with all memory in. Does this mean that I'm fine, or should I go back and test each individually?

Especially if I still can't install CS4. I have an extra hard drive that I could use. If I install windows 7 on this extra hard drive, can I do so without validating it? I just don't want to validate it and find out that my current installation won't work any more.
