Why Does Mouse Completely Loose Connection To Laptop
Jan 19, 2013
My ativa 611405 Wired Optical Mouse no longer works on my computer. I know the mouse is not broken because it works on my other computer. It stopped working when I updated my Windows 7. My laptop does not even find the mouse through the USB port.
i found that my computer stopped getting access to web browsing, only afects the browser (firefox, iexp), but every other aplication thet needs network, they go fine. I saw here a solucion by running cmd and make winsock reset, it worked well, but just until i restart the machine then have to winsock reset again.I recently instaled sp1 for Windows 7, i did restart the computer a lot that day and never had this issue. Router? Avast 6?
One month old asus laptop just stopped working. Now won't boot up. Goes as far as choice between "launch startup repair" and "start windows normally".. Tried both options but ends with blank screen. Tried online suggestion for asus of using F9 when logo comes up. does this mean the laptop is unrepairable.
i'm trying to order something from a website and the cursor want open my cart for me to look at it and finish my order. this is happening in several sites not just one.
I am having the same problem as the original person who posted. All of my pictures on my laptop are completely missing. I went into tools, then clicked folder options, view and checked show hidden files and folders. The pictures returned but are greyed out
Ok so when I had XP I would always use hibernate and only about once a week I would actually reboot the computer completely. Now that I have Windows 7 I would like to do the same. But now when I click hibernate the screen goes black and everything shuts off but the computer acts like its in standby. The lights are still on and computer is running.
Once this happens I cannot get back into windows or reboot without holding down the power button to force a reset. Each time that I have done with Windows 7 boots an error saying the computer was not shutdown correctly. Anyone know why it won't completely power off when I click hibernate. I have tried it about 5 separate times and it has not worked once.
I have no information on my laptop, she wiped everything off. it will boot up with windows, but I need recovery disk 2. I have 1,3,4 but cannot find disk 2. so I would like to know where I can get this one disk for free ???
Recently both my PC and Laptop have started to freeze intermittently when surfing the net. By freezing I mean that the computer becomes completely unresponsive with the screen stuck on whatever page I was on at the point of the freeze - the mouse cursor stops moving, the clock stops ticking, no response to control-alt-delete, etc. Nothing I can do but power down and re-boot. I have tried just leaving the PC for an hour but it does not recover.
This happens regularly but intermittently and at random intervals. I can rarely go 30 mins of surfing without a freeze. On my laptop the fan really ramps up when this freeze happens - as if the CPU usage has gone up to 100%. However, the on screen CPU gage gadget does not change as the whole screen is frozen. When I log back in there is nothing in the windows event logs for the time of the failure.
The PC is on Windows XP and the laptop is Windows 7. I use a mix of IE9 and Chrome on the laptop and IE8 and Chrome on the PC. The freeze happens using any of these browsers. The only thing that I can see that the PC and Laptop have in common is that they are using the same router (PC via cable and laptop via wi-fi) and I have Norton 360 and Norton Family installed on both. How I can track down the cause of this issue? (Disabling Norton Family makes no difference.) Any other logs or logging tools that I could use?
Today when I turned on my laptop, suddenly, there was a message that my battery has problems so the computer might shut down suddenly. I tried different strategies, like uninstalling the battery driver, or letting the computer completely die. When it turned off itself at 6%, I turned it back on, and it was at 2 minutes battery life. Then in a few minutes, it said 4 minutes battery life for 6%. Now, it's passed an hour, and it says 3 minutes, but changes sometimes to 1-4 minutes. The battery meter is completely wrong, and I don't know what to do since it is closing the computer way too early. I'm still not sure what the problem is.
My laptop dies if I am on the battery and the battery percent gets between 25-40% then it will just completely shut off. It never used to do this for the first 8 months i've owned it. Now it does it every time I'm on the battery. Also, right before this started happening I was getting GREAT battery life out of my battery, so I don't personally think the battery has gone bad, however you may feel different!
I own a Toshiba Satellite L645D-S7040, when i use my Laptop it will completly freeze randomly without any reason or warning. when it freezes nothing will move (mouse) and the is frozen in time. any program that was runing at the time is also frozen in the middle of what ever task it was doing. like if i was watching a video it would make a high pitch scream until i restart it. normally it freezes after 10 to 30 minutes after start up and at time it could take hours to days to freeze. After the freeze i check the event logs and the only thing posted is the fact that i shut it down. i even did a factory restore and it still does the freezing. and yes windows 7 is the stanfard OS i the laptop. it is only about 14 months old. i am thinking of buying a new hard drive but i would rather solve the problem then buy a hard drive.
this first started occurring on monday the 24th, i played a Internet video on firefox and the video lagged with a black screen on the first 1-2 seconds of the video. at around 3 seconds, everything stopped. my cursor, the video, the whole laptop etc. the time was no longer moving on the video and my system time wasn't changing either so i concluded that my laptop was frozen. i waited it out and there was nothing i could do but hold down the power button in an attempt to try and turn.at this point i'm still able to watch Internet videos on chrome perfectly, however... playing a video file from my hard drive produces the same problem. i've tried playing files from both wmp and vlc player, and the same thing happened both times.what i've tried:
- uninstalled and then re-installed my display driver - i tried a system restore yesterday and got a bsod before my laptop even got to shut down - i did a successful system restore to the 22nd via safe mode - searched the web for solutions but couldn't find anything -reinstalling windows (i'm in the middle of doing uni work atm so i'm trying to avoid this) -buying a new laptop (when i get the money)
may be useful:
-i was getting quite a few "low ram" messages from the system on the day that it first occurred, before it first occurred. haven't seen anymore of them, however. -playing 3gp and mp3 files on wmp is fine
My Logitech bluetooth mouse keeps losing connection or just won't work with my laptop. I have tried disabling the powersave option, I have used the logitech combi to reset the mouse, I have bought a new mouse, changed batteries, reinstalled windows, drivers, setpoint etc but the problem persists I also tried using this mouse on Linux, no problems there My laptop is a VAIO with a broadcom bluetooth adapter.
My headphone jack is broken. Sometimes if the headset is in just right you get sound for a second but then you l loose it. What do I need to do to get it fixed?
I need help to undertand if is possibile resolve this possible issue.I have an ACER Revo 3610r,Atom 530 processor, I'm using it with a wireless Enermax Aurora micro keyboard (with trackball included).I would use RDP from my work pc Unfortunately after I've taken the control from my work pc I'm not able to use the wireless keyboard on the host (Acer revo ) so I've to restart with the shutdown /R command.
I have Windows 7 RC installed on two different computers and this has happened on both.
I'll install a program I use a lot, pin it to the taskbar and some of the icons will lose their original icon after awhile. It doesn't seem to effect the operation of the program or the shortcut to the program, it's just sort of annoying to have to curse over the pinned program to know what it is, instead of just being able to tell by its icon. The programs this happens to are not the same from machine to machine, either. If that makes sense.
Has anyone else come across this and were you able to remedy the issue?
i am having vista in my drive D: and windows 7 in drive C: and i want to use only windows 7 only..so can you tel me a way to remove vista so that i dont loose any of my data in windows 7 and which is less complicated too.
Like my subject says, my comp won't start up and can't fix things automatically cause the Internet isnt hooked up. I'm worried that everything I have for school and music will be lost..
I have a Gateway M-6823 and prior to installing Windows 7 my mouse pad worked great.Since I installed Windows 7 (32 bit) my mouse pad has gone crazy! I can only control the mouse by using the lower left corner of the pad. I went into the settings in the control panel but I don't see a place to calibrate the pad.
why is the reason that my laptop is too slow,.. but i dont really sure if it could be the mouse,.. is working very slow and i set it already in high speed,..so it gettind freezed each time I need to wait to continious next step..
My mouse won't respond to my laptop and it gets me mad because i play fps shooters and its hard to play when im using the touchpad and i get furious because i like those games. it has nothing to do with the laptop..
So today i was using my laptop and its ask me to agree if Java can do some update so i press yes and then the mouse just when crazy and where i pointed it! I tried 2 restore the laptop, restart
Laptop works fine, BUT when i move it ( say, to put it on a table or set it down beside me ) the built in mouse / pointer, fails to work properly. When I scroll on the pad, it barely moves and frequently will only move on one axis. The only solution I have at the moment is to physically close the laptop up, immediately reopen it and log in again and all is well until i move it again.
