View 1 Replies View RelatedMy win 7 laptop reported that a usb device had malfunctioned - my mouse, a roccat kone, no longer controlled the pointer. The scroll wheel and buttons still work, but the pointer will not move. Having had a similar problem in the past I purchased a new mouse, a rat 7, but I have the exact same problem.
Now both mice work fine on my PC, and both work on a variety of surfaces.
- I have tried in safe mode, no luck
- I have tried uninstalling all usb drivers, and all mouse drivers, no success (all other peripherals work fine, hard rives, usb drives and a tablet/pen)
- I have rebooted a million times, and tried toggling legacy usb support in bios.
- I also tried installing microsoft generic mouse drivers, no luck.
I am willing to try anything, though id rather not reinstall the os.
I have a Dell Laptop and on Windows 7. How do I activate or find my middle mouth button? I have been into the 'Buttons' tab in the 'Mouse' option in the Control Panel. I cannot access my mouse from the 'Devices and Printers' as it is a laptop.

Updated all the way, AVG antivirus, Comodo Firewall (FW only!). every startup, every reboot, the blue tooth (Targus and MS) mouse is incredibly NOT smooth. 20% more and it would be unuseable. If i go to the View Bluetooth devices and remove the mouse then fresh search for it-find it-install it, now the Bluetooth mouse is as sweet and pleasant as can be. If I remove it before shutdown the find and add after boot, same thing.But just reboot and it's back to horrible. A wireless mouse (with dongle thingie) works fine, anytime. Phone and online chats with Dell have led to them pointing me to the Intel site for the driver packageBT_2.2_s64.exe. Downloaded, installed, exact same behavior.
Reboot and the mouse needs a kick- remove and rediscover and it's fine. Uninstall the Intel package, base MS/Win7 bluetooth enum, same thing.Found similar but more comprehensive driver and installer package for the Intel 2200 half card wireless on Lenovo website. (300+MB!) Installed it, at least it does Install the Intel ProSet package into running/starting services.. Same mouse behavior. Tried setting some things to 'Auto-Delayed start'...Search the internet and I see a lot of people have the similar problem, some even when the close the laptop lid and reopen- or half a dozen variations on this.Even more frustrating is I have a slightly aged Inspiron N5010 Laptop with W7 home prem that these same mice work flawlessly with it;s Dell 365 bluetooth module.
i'm running win7 here and was wondering if i can tell it to come out of stand by via the USB keyboard/mouse? at the moment, it only comes out of stand by or 'sleep' if i touch the actual laptop keyboard.

This can be resolved by right clicking on a blank spot in the program I am running. This has happened in Windows Explorer, Lord of the Rings Online, or even on the desktop. I have tried two different mice, re-installed the drivers for both, updated the video drivers.....everything I could think of short of using a restore point. The only software change has been the latest Windows updates. I am running Win7 Home Premium on a laptop. The two mice I have tried have been a MS mouse and a Logitech one.

I can only control the mouse by using the lower left corner of the pad. I went into the settings in the control panel but I don't see a place to calibrate the pad.

View 6 Replies View RelatedLaptop works fine, BUT when i move it ( say, to put it on a table or set it down beside me ) the built in mouse / pointer, fails to work properly. When I scroll on the pad, it barely moves and frequently will only move on one axis. The only solution I have at the moment is to physically close the laptop up, immediately reopen it and log in again and all is well until i move it again.

I have gone into System/Device Manager/Mice.... and there is no option to "allow device to wake up". My knowledge is limited, but I do understand some things. Now however i have the issue that my ps/2 keyboard and touch pad mouse has stopped working and i'm having to use USB to actually use my laptop. Has anyone else found a solution to this at all. I have checked device manager and it say code 10 for the mouse not working and code 19 for the keyboard not working.
For background info i have a Dell Studio XPS running 64 bit Win 7 pro.

Sometimes the laptop gets stuck and then none of the keys or the mouse works. Yesterday I was watching a movie and the same thing happened but the movie didn't stop.
Today morning the laptop wasn't booting and then later I took out the battery and reinserted it and it worked. Are these two problems somehow related?
