Is there any way to turn off scrolling with a laptop mouse? I have a new laptop and the dang scrolling is really irritating. It's WAY to sensitive, and the scroll area is not all the way to the side like my laptop was. Every time I touch this mouse pad I end up scrolling halfway down the page.

I have the RAPTOR-GAMING LM2 mouse. I have a problem scrolling with the mouse wheel in any program. Scrolling fast works fine but when i scroll down one notch on the wheel sometimes it randomly scrolls up one notch. This mouse is less than a month old.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI'm in the process of scrolling the page using mouse wheel (either browser, or microsoft word document, etc) the screen blinks for a fraction of second, and the whole system shuts down as if somebody pulled the plug out, and then immediately restarts showing dialogue of whether I want to start windows normally or in the safe mode.
I have looked in the event logs but the only thing it tells me there is that there was an unexpected shutdown. The same in that reliability place.
how I would diagnose it? I cannot replicate it at will, as it only happens occasionally when scrolling, at other times scrolling is fine and does not produce this result. The system is Windows 7 enterprise 64bit, the mouse is Microsoft bluetrack technology
I have recently bought a MS Wireless Mouse 5000, and the scroll wheel seems to be a bit flakey. It does not happen all the time, and seems to be worse in some applications (for instance, Safari), than others.

View 6 Replies View RelatedI'm using a Lenovo ideapad y580 with windows 7 home basic along with a Steelseries Sensei RAW, and for the first month it ran smoothly without any problems. But after taking my laptop to travel, when i got back and plugged in my mouse, my mouse will work for a few minutes, then suddenly lose power. After a few seconds, it will power up again. Due to this, i have googled for 2 or 3 days, trying to search for a fix. Initially i thought it has something to do with the power management, and i disabled the option where they disable the usb device to save power on all the power plans, but to no avail. I've also tried uninstalling the driver and re installing it, as well as test my mouse out on another computer, and the mouse has no problem on another computer. When the mouse loses power, the other usb devices plugged into my laptop is unaffected, and only my mouse loses power. This happens on both my 2 USB 3.0 ports as well as USB 2.0 port. I should mention that my laptop has trouble configuring windows updates recently, after installing, on startup, it says 'failure to configure windows update"

So I went into Windows XP but switched to IDE storage Config. in the Bios Fixed it Rebooted Changed to AHCI which is what Windows 7 was Installed with So. Now When I go to Windows 7 NO Matter what Mode (Safe Mode) Keyboard and Mouse there Off they don't stay on after boot. I tried a PS2 Converter, Switched USB Ports, Put in a new Keyboard and Nothing. I re-copied the USB drivers from the DVD into System32/Drivers Still will not work..

Under Vista, I was able to set Power Options so that the computer would go to sleep/hibernate when I close the lid. That works in Windows 7.
However, I was also able to set the Power Options so that the laptop would wake up and restore Windows when I opened the lid. So far, I have been unable to set that behavior in Windows 7.

However, since yesterday, the laptop just won't turn on. The power supply is on but the laptop won't start. I have tried 3 power adapters but it's the same result.
