I have Windows 7 and Internet Explorer 9 on my computer.How would I get the arrow on my mouse to jump to the default link when I turn on my computer or go to a new page.

I have ie9 set as default browser. I have my email defaulted, as use my current email address. I rebooted after these setting changes. Yet both 'Send Page by Email' and 'Send Link by Email' are still grayed out. How to activate (ungray) these 2 commands?
so recently i put together a comp using my old HDD, CD-DVD Drive, CPU, and PSU. I bought a new Mobo, GPU, Ram, and case. Anyway i was messing with the CMOS because it wouldn't turn on, so i was resetting it(once or twice) and when it turns on now, the computer directs me to the system repair page. It gives me the option to go repair the system or start windows normally, but the arrow keys don't work on this page. They work on the system repair's next page however. So i got out my Win7 disk preparing to reinstall, but after i put it in it directs it to the same page still.

I want to smash it.The OS is Windows 7, a major problem in itself which requires other remedies.The issue that randomly started happening one day, and won't stop, is that the left and right arrow keys, home and end, page up/down, and delete don't work. They do work, however, if I disable the wireless network adapter.This is extremely annoying, and cripples the way I use the computer, becuase I use those keys a lot to navigate applications instead of clicking everywhere like a serf.I did try uninstalling both the keyboard and network adapter in control panel, then rebooting so Windows would find them and reinstall the drivers. I thought maybe they would go on another IRQ or some crap.

I've seen earlier posts about this quirk that MS should have never let out of the barn. I've found some "solutions" on these forums but when I go to change settings in the default menus, it doesn't "save".
I'm referring to changing default in INT Explorer. Some posters refer to IE8 but mine only says Internet Explorer. My computer guy also has me set up for Google with Google toolbar which comes up when I select the Internet Icon. I would rather have the good old Internet Explorer page come up and type Google into the address bar as I need it vs. Google everything.

after I make my adjustments. So I hit OK, but it doesn't save as I will recheck it after each time I try. I do NOT have an apply button which I find strange.
ALSO, for some reason after hopping around on websites or Internet, I can't open my Outlook Express to check email. The Icon just kind of "glows" when I click on it and there is no right click options other than to "unpin" it from the menu bar.
I have to restart/reboot to be able to get back into Outlook to get my email again.
I just found that the send page by email and send page by link are no longer working after the upgrade to windows 7 in IE 8. I have not done in net searches on this yet but thought I check here first for a quick fix before I took this on in full force.

View 5 Replies View RelatedYesterday I was browsing the web on Yahoo search like I always do. And I was searching for a well known social web hosting forum.That I was visiting two weeks ago and had no problems getting onto that site then. I will not tell you the link as I do not want anyone else to click on it, as it is not safe.But I clicked on the link from Yahoo search engine but instead of putting me onto the website. I was redirected to a blank page,that said I have got viruses and it needed to scan my computer.And it just closed my web browser,without warning, and started scanning.I tried to stop it but I could not, so I quickly shut down my computer as this brings everything on my computer to a halt. And then I turned my computer back on again everything seemed normal.But I did a scan with Windows Defender and MRT-Malicious Software removal tool,just in case. And it never found any viruses or malware. And using system restore to put my computer back in time to BEFORE the event happened helped,I think.
But when I went round to two of my friends house,the same thing happened to them on their computer.When they tried to go onto that website. And I tried some computers in the Internet cafe. And the same thing happened,so it was not just my computer.But am I right in that the website I visited was trying to install,spyware,a virus or malware on my computer and someone elses computer as well?As I explain the website is a well known and genuine website that I have visited in the past,well two weeks ago in fact. But now it redirects to that page which seems IS trying to install spyware on an unsuspecting persons computer. And it is not just my computer was trying to do it on.So am I right was it spyware or a computer virus,that, that redirect was trying to install on my computer? And if so is there anything we can do about it?As I reported the website link to Google and Yahoo and they have not taken it off of the search engine.
will the repair install fix system links that do not worK? cursor choices show up in Cursors file in Windows. Problem is after installing windows 7 Professional the link to the mouse pointers does not work and if you go to mouse properties they are not there just the mouse driver details. Any ideas on how to fix this?
I did the RC of windows 7 to see if I would like it...the mouse options was not available in the RC thought it would get fixed in final release. As instructed when received my upgrade after final release went back to Vista home premium, upgraded to 7 home premium (had to buy it, had ordered and recieved 7 pro) then upgraded to the 7 pro. still no mouse pointer options to change the pointer.
The pointers are in the Cursors folder in Window, but when I click on 'Change Mouse pointers' nothing happens. In the control panel when I click on the mouse icon nothing happens. I am using a usb mouse on my laptop but this feature does not work with the touchpad either. Worked just fine in vista, any suggestions
Is it possible to make a link on the desktop, or elsewhere, and when opened, to open it with a specific program rather then the default? Specifically, I use FF as my default browser, but I would like to use IE for a couple specific links. I know I can just open IE but it would be convenient to create an icon/link on the desktop to the location, and when opened, to be opened by IE rather then the default program for that extension (FF).I just realized that I could make another extension, a new one not used by any program, and just make that extension opened by IE by default then rename the link on the desktop, I think that would work, but is there a way to edit the link and tell it specifically what program to use when clicked rather then the default?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have just acquired a Toshiba netbook running Windows 7 Starter. When I allow the mouse pointer to hover on a clickable link, the link activates after a couple of seconds. This is really irritating if I am already where I want to be since I have to be careful where I park the pointer. How can I disable this function? Dannyboy42 asked the same question, and Frank4d suggested that he "go to Control Panel > Ease of Access Center > Make the mouse easer to use. Uncheck the box next to Activate a window by hovering over it with the mouse". Unfortunately, that did not solve dannyboy42's problem, nor does it work for me - that box is already unchecked. Has anyone else figured this out, or is everyone OK with it, and I should just learn to live with this "enhancement"?

My Mozilla Firefox (newest version) since yesterday keeps opening up in a default homepage (bankofamerica) and I don't even use Bank of America~! When I go to change it to use it a different default page, it sets it as the different page (or even default) but then when I reopen FireFox, it goes back to the default B of A page.
I ran virus scanner and windows defender and there appears to be no virus or anything wrong with my comp in regards to that..
I'm using a Lenovo ideapad y580 with windows 7 home basic along with a Steelseries Sensei RAW, and for the first month it ran smoothly without any problems. But after taking my laptop to travel, when i got back and plugged in my mouse, my mouse will work for a few minutes, then suddenly lose power. After a few seconds, it will power up again. Due to this, i have googled for 2 or 3 days, trying to search for a fix. Initially i thought it has something to do with the power management, and i disabled the option where they disable the usb device to save power on all the power plans, but to no avail. I've also tried uninstalling the driver and re installing it, as well as test my mouse out on another computer, and the mouse has no problem on another computer. When the mouse loses power, the other usb devices plugged into my laptop is unaffected, and only my mouse loses power. This happens on both my 2 USB 3.0 ports as well as USB 2.0 port. I should mention that my laptop has trouble configuring windows updates recently, after installing, on startup, it says 'failure to configure windows update"

It's WAY to sensitive, and the scroll area is not all the way to the side like my laptop was. Every time I touch this mouse pad I end up scrolling halfway down the page.

So I went into Windows XP but switched to IDE storage Config. in the Bios Fixed it Rebooted Changed to AHCI which is what Windows 7 was Installed with So. Now When I go to Windows 7 NO Matter what Mode (Safe Mode) Keyboard and Mouse there Off they don't stay on after boot. I tried a PS2 Converter, Switched USB Ports, Put in a new Keyboard and Nothing. I re-copied the USB drivers from the DVD into System32/Drivers Still will not work..

I'm using Win 7 x64 on my Desktop computer and just bought Dell KB212-B keyboard to replace the old one. I have this key combination problem when playing PES 2012, then i found out that doesn't work on other apps too! I've tried other arrow key combinations and they worked?Clearly, when i hold together "Up arrow + Left arrow + S" it didn't work, but when i tried another, examples "Up + Right/Down + Left... + S" and it did work!

I load firefox, same issue. I load Crome, it worked for 1 day then same issue. It used to login in fine last week. It logs in fine on my 2 other PCs and my Kindlefire.I have checked for viruses with Avast and A-Malware Bytes in safe mode - nothing. These 2 pick up 98% of stuff. Personally I dont think its a virusn IE9 - Deleted browsing history, cookies, temp internet files, everything under the Geneeral/Browsing History section. Did a disk cleanup, put the site inthe trusted zone, turned off popup blocker just in case, Cleared SSL state, Reset IE9. Zippo

View 3 Replies View Relatedmy monitor exhibited signs of flickering during start-up, but only minor ones and would just stop at the 'Welcome' screen of windows so I didn't give it much thought. Iv'e been using it with the cpu the same time I bought the monitor.But after some time, the flickering got worse. It went from 1-2 second interval flickers to a whole 10 seconds of blackness before it showed anything.Now,Iv'e got a new cpu but still using the old monitor. After a day or so, the monitor exhibited the first symptoms of my first cpu, so I just dismissed it. But after a week, It got a hell worse, before I even start-up my computer, the monitor doesn't show Analog/Digital at the top-left corner of the screen. PLUS my cpu keeps restarting after I pushed the ON button after 10 seconds or so. Is the monitor responsible for the restart and what could be the reason for the flickering?

View 6 Replies View RelatedI have the wireless adapter working fine, well it was working fine. The strength of the connection was only 2 bars for some reason as of late. I have other computers and they're all fine. So I assume maybe I can fix it by installing the drivers for it. The moment I install it the computer stops recognizing that I even have the wireless card hooked into my mother board! Did the driver installation break it? Because even it when it was supposedly done installing it claimed that I needed to actually plug the thing in! Even though it was working fine a minute ago. I've tried running the program but it wont even acknowledge my clicking. I tried unplugging and plugging the hardware in and that didn't work, I even changed its slots. I don't know what to do short of just reloading windows on it and skipping every using the driver cd.
