My mouse won't activate the slider up arrow and certain buttons on websites e.g. search. How can I use keyboard keys instead? (It does activate the down arrow). Have tried replacing the mouse.
I have Windows 7 and Internet Explorer 9 on my computer. How would I get the arrow on my mouse to jump to the default link when I turn on my computer or go to a new page.
I have a Dell Laptop and on Windows 7. How do I activate or find my middle mouth button? I have been into the 'Buttons' tab in the 'Mouse' option in the Control Panel. I cannot access my mouse from the 'Devices and Printers' as it is a laptop.
I'm using Win 7 x64 on my Desktop computer and just bought Dell KB212-B keyboard to replace the old one. I have this key combination problem when playing PES 2012, then i found out that doesn't work on other apps too! I've tried other arrow key combinations and they worked?Clearly, when i hold together "Up arrow + Left arrow + S" it didn't work, but when i tried another, examples "Up + Right/Down + Left... + S" and it did work!
I'm trying to setup stereo mixer which is available and turned on, however generally when doing this the microphone is muted in speakers and you need to unmute that (I've done this for a lot of computers), but unfortunately for the current computer no slider exists for the microphone. I've tried registry fixes and using drivers straight off RealTek's site (instead of HP's, it's a HP p6110f) but nothing works.
I have a usb headset, it's running on the generic windows 7 USB audio drivers and it plays audio and records from the mic just fine. The only problem is, no matter where my volume slider is in the system tray they play at full volume.
What this means is I have to adjust the volume inside each application in order to not go deaf. Windows sounds are still terribly loud, and programs where I CAN'T adjust volume are a nightmare.
They are A4Tech HD-800 headphones and they're supposed to run on the C-Media CM112 drivers, but they aren't 7 compatible.
My volume slider in the middle of my screen. Any ideas why? I use two monitors and have the task bar on the (What windows considers) "Secondary" monitor.
i just upgraded to windows 7(yay!) and everything is working great except the resolution. (laptop btw) its a 16:9 screen, but the resolution slider thing wont go above 1024x768. everything looks squished and just all around not good. all of my drivers are up to date and ive looked around the internet and tried a few different things, but nothings worked. i never had this problem in vista. maybe its that i got 64 bit 7? my old vista was 32 bit. i really dont know.
no problems ere just curious. i just updated the driver for my msi r6950 pe. this is the first time ive had the power control slider visible in ccc. it never showed with my hd6850 and didnt show in any of the previous drivers for my 6950.
I am running windows 7 home premium and the getting started shortcut pinned to start menu by default has an arrow for sub menu of programs and now my arrow is missing. I run ccleaner but may have removed the arrow. How do I get the arrow back?
Windows 7 Home Premium (64-bit) I've suddenly lost the view options (Large/medium/small icons, List, Detail etc) given by the down arrow at top right. For example, when I click on 'Desktop'>down arrow all I get it a blank 'roll-down' and obviously no choices!
In the "From" column of Windows Live Mail, there is a small green arrow over the envelopes on some emails. What does this represent ? I have tried looking about everywhere else without ANY success~~~
Why does the shortcut arrow appear on every desktop icon as well as on pictures in my pictures library. What am I doing to make them appear and what is the purpose for them?
When I scroll through my sub-folders using explorer on the left hand side, it doesn't automatically display the contents on the right unless I use my cursor to manually select the folder, not just by scrolling up or down (right to left work to expand and contract folders). annoying. Ive tried the folder properties bar.
As the title said there is just no notification area arrow. I right clicked task bar> properties> "notification area" customize and all i see is nothing in the box. It says at the top. some settings can only be managed by your system admin, well i AM the system admin. it was showing up earlier and all i did was update windows and poof arrow gone and when i minimize things they disappear.
A week back or so, it was all fine (With occasional Win 7 freezes, which i have never been able to troubleshoot). Then my Win 7 started showing a BSOD (Pretty frequently but randomly). While struggling with this i tried to add/remove RAM sticks (I am running on 4* 2GB = 8 GB in total. Tried to keep one stick (changed slots as well) and remove other three but still the same BSOD). Then i removed NVIDIA graphics card, hard disk & CD rom cables, processes and put everything back again. But to no use.BSOD was not really an issue, as I was thinking of reinstalling Windows and getting rid of that. Before that while Windows would restart (after a BSOD) the arrow keys were not working means: i was not able to choose from 1) boot windows normally 2) run repair etc options. Then i thought of booting the system from a bootable USB drive and run the repair. I pressed F12 to choose one time boot device, it showed the list but arrow keys were not working again. Strangely enough if i enter BIOS setup by pressing DEL, everything seems to work fine. So finally i made the USB drive my first boot device and the system was able to boot from it.I also had one Acronis bootable CD which i used for creating an image of C drive (After fresh Win 7 installation). I thought about restoring that image. I set my first boot device as CD ROM and was able to boot into Acronis. It gives 2 options (the default being boot into Windows). Acronis is a GUI based stuff so i tried to use mouse there. Oh man now mouse was not working and following the default option, the system was booting into Windows.
my arrow keys wont work on games when i am on the google chrome browser, they work for scrolling, just not the games, they do work in internet explorer.
so recently i put together a comp using my old HDD, CD-DVD Drive, CPU, and PSU. I bought a new Mobo, GPU, Ram, and case. Anyway i was messing with the CMOS because it wouldn't turn on, so i was resetting it(once or twice) and when it turns on now, the computer directs me to the system repair page. It gives me the option to go repair the system or start windows normally, but the arrow keys don't work on this page. They work on the system repair's next page however. So i got out my Win7 disk preparing to reinstall, but after i put it in it directs it to the same page still.
In windows 7 using windows explorer the up and down arrow keys do not work to display the contents of file folders. The arrow keys move the focus to the next folder in the left hand window but does not display its contents in the right hand window. Using XP and all previous versions of windows (after the introduction of the mouse) this was possible. Is this just my installation or has this feature been removed like the "remember each folder's view settings"?I have a large database in Access and the folder tree that it accesses is huge. Using the arrows instead of the mouse saves time and is bore ergonomically friendly to my hand.
It seems that a recent auto-update of some Windows 7 items changed my PC looks. The font of the items in the Start menu looks different and in Windows Explorer, the "arrows" to expand a folder is now a "plus sign". How do I get back to the looks I had prior to this change?
I do not like when Windows 7 maximize my window that I drag to the edge of my screen, so I found how to disable this. But this also disables the [winkey] + [arrow key] shortcut that I do like to use.I wonder if there is a way to ony disable the snap function when dragging / rezising window and keep the [winkey] + [arrow key] functionality enabled?I dont even know how to search this. um."disable snap enable keyboard shortcuts" search engine goes like What?!?
Windows 7 - 64-bit. When I click on Windows Explorer>Desktop etc at top right, there's an down arrow which allows choice of Icons: large/medium etc and List/Details. When I click on the arrow all I get is a blank 'roll-down' and of course no choices.
I downloaded 2 videos from a camcorder and the appear on my desktop as a folder. When I try to open them I get a message that tells me the drive or network connection that the shortcut'New folder.lnk refers to is unavailable. My life depends on this as they were important to my son
I have a new Dell pc w/pre-loaded IE9. When I click the arrow to go back to previous page(s) all is does is sit there. There is no drop-down arrow to select a previous page, just the forward or back arrows. I have no add-on's or toolbars.

Been having 9 RootKit issues popping up on our Laptop found by the AVG scan for about a month now. I wanted to just do a complete Restore to get things running normally again. Problem is I have a huge amount of pics on there that are not backed up. Been trying to come up with a quick & easy way to do it.Did a Google search the other day & read that I could use a Bridged USB-USB cable & transfer the pics to our PC. Went to Best Buy to get it & they told me that the Belkin Easy Transfer Cable would do it. Well, I attempted to run the thing last night (I don't think it was even doing what I wanted) and now the laptop will not boot at all. There was an error message (that I didn't write down) on it when I got up this morning & now all I get is a black screen with the arrow cursor on it.
