Power Control Slider Apeared After Ati Driver Update?
Nov 24, 2011
no problems ere just curious. i just updated the driver for my msi r6950 pe. this is the first time ive had the power control slider visible in ccc. it never showed with my hd6850 and didnt show in any of the previous drivers for my 6950.
Is this normal..... I am having a slight problem with the laptop freezing every night when i go to sleep...So i figure a need to adjust some of the power options.Howerever - "power options" in the control panel is empty... a small red circle with an x in it is in there and some slider adjuster thingy on the bottom?
Is there a group policy to lock down the brightness settings that are normally configured into the control panel power options? Or alternatly, can I force these back to particular settings by saving and restoring regsitry keys upon user login?
When I open up my control panel > System & Security then click "Windows Update" the control Panel freezes and stays that way. I have to ctrl+alt+delete to end it and wait a few seconds for windows to restart.
So I have used Terminal in Fedora and I noticed we have power shell which seems much like Terminal, but what do you use it for? With Windows you can point and click on things I used Terminal in Fedora because I had to do certain updates or app installs that way.Can I do a software update through power shell? Where can I read how to start using Power Shell.
I had a power loss while installing a windows update about two months ago. Ever since then my system will hang either on logging off or shutting down.I have tried making a new user (No Help)it hangs in safe mode also.I also do not have a list of prior updates in control panel since this problem. The system works fine other than that.
I'm trying to setup stereo mixer which is available and turned on, however generally when doing this the microphone is muted in speakers and you need to unmute that (I've done this for a lot of computers), but unfortunately for the current computer no slider exists for the microphone. I've tried registry fixes and using drivers straight off RealTek's site (instead of HP's, it's a HP p6110f) but nothing works.
My mouse won't activate the slider up arrow and certain buttons on websites e.g. search. How can I use keyboard keys instead? (It does activate the down arrow). Have tried replacing the mouse.
I have a usb headset, it's running on the generic windows 7 USB audio drivers and it plays audio and records from the mic just fine. The only problem is, no matter where my volume slider is in the system tray they play at full volume.
What this means is I have to adjust the volume inside each application in order to not go deaf. Windows sounds are still terribly loud, and programs where I CAN'T adjust volume are a nightmare.
They are A4Tech HD-800 headphones and they're supposed to run on the C-Media CM112 drivers, but they aren't 7 compatible.
My volume slider in the middle of my screen. Any ideas why? I use two monitors and have the task bar on the (What windows considers) "Secondary" monitor.
i just upgraded to windows 7(yay!) and everything is working great except the resolution. (laptop btw) its a 16:9 screen, but the resolution slider thing wont go above 1024x768. everything looks squished and just all around not good. all of my drivers are up to date and ive looked around the internet and tried a few different things, but nothings worked. i never had this problem in vista. maybe its that i got 64 bit 7? my old vista was 32 bit. i really dont know.
I just installed Win 7 and I can't go on the internet Ther Network Controller, Ethernet Controller Universal Serial Bus Drivers all have yellow exclamation mark, Where do I get these?
I installed my computer with windows 7 ultimate 32 bit. But, there is a problem with my multimedia audio controller and pci input driver, there is a yellow caution sign in both of them..and my speakers don't work
Having a major problem trying to install the latest drivers for my 8800GT, I went to hook my rig up to my 42" LCD TV through the HDMI input (something I did all the time while on XP) after a clean install of Windows 7 X64. I noticed the desktop was to big for the screen so I went to install 191 driver so I could get the control panel to adjust it.
The install starts fine gets to the installing drivers box but then the install just hangs go's blank, comes back hangs then get a notice say something like "the system could not be updated......."
I've tired unistalling the drivers from the device manager and reinsatlling all in safe mode. The same thing happened trying to install the driver again and there was no "Display Adapter " in device manager. I then restarted and the card installed(the driver?) it's self again
I want to update my video card, which I haven't done since I got my laptop a year ago. I'm not very experienced when it comes to drivers, and I want to make sure I get the right one. I'm looking for a second opinion.
I have an ATI Mobility Radeon HD 550v video card, I think it's series is 4650 but I'm not sure.
Catalyst Control Center says it's driver packaging version is 8.742, I imagine that's pretty old.
Is using the AMD Driver Auto-detect the best way to update my video card? It says: Graphics Hardware: Mobility Radeon HD 4xxx Series The best driver for this device is: catalyst_mobility_64-bit_util.exe
Is this right for me? or is there another way to update this card.
when i start my notebook pc hp pavilion g6-1200tx.i am getting an warning message like the catalyst control center is not supported by the driver version of your enabled graphics adapter. please update your amd graphics driver or enable your amd adapter using the displays manager
have been using my pc lately and iv been getting the driver power stat failure alot lately and what happens is my internet goes out and when I shut down it takes at least 5 minutes until it goes BSOD and the error message appears cll me how to fix it as soon as possible because this has been going on for a while and I want it to stop. So can anyone tell me step by step what to do so I can fix this issue and get on with using my pc
I've been experiencing issues with my computer. It tends to blue screen and reads "Driver_POWER_STATE_FAILURE". I've tried to run some scans and diagnostics and even backed up my PC and then rebooted it with factory new settings, but it is still BSOD. I have a dump file, but I cannot post it because it says I do not have permission to open or attach it.
I recently upgraded from Vista to Windows 7. Ever since then I've been getting intermittant blue screens that say Driver_Power_State_Failure. This is annoying and Microsoft seems to have no answer. I have to restart then start over. All my drivers according to MS are up to date. Any answers?
I have installed Windows 7 (32-bit) on a Samsung X20 laptop computer with a Mobile Intel 915GM/GMS,910GML Express graphics controller. Obviously there is no Windows 7 driver for this controller, so the standard VGA driver is installed instead. The Windows XP driver for the graphic card first installs under Windows 7 without any error messages, but when restart the machine the system tells me that it can't install the graphics driver. What is the best way of using the 915GM/GMS,910GML graphics controller under Windows 7 - stick with the standard VGA driver?
I've done a lot of searches using variations of the above title and came up empty or just plain missed the answer.I'd like to know, if it is not asking too much, the following points:
1. What exactly is the function of Link State Power Management in the Power Options Advanced Settings, PCI Express?
2. What are the implications of using the options available:
a) Off.
b) Maximum power savings.
c) Moderate power savings.
d) Which option is the best selection for my Dell laptop.
I have a year old Windows 7 Acer Laptop. Has been performing fine, but have had a couple of Blue Screens in the past week, one of which was a "Driver Power State Failure".Have attached the minidump files to this message.
I just installed a new Plextor 128 gig SSD (which got great reviews on newegg) and did a fresh install of windows 7 onto it, and now I get a recurring BSOD that says DRIVER_POWER_STATE_FAILURE. I attached all the required files (I think).
