I am operating Windows 7 with IE9 as default browser. I use outlook for my e-mail. Recently while downloading a program I inadvertantly allowed Google Chrome to be installed.. I have uninstalled google, rebooted but when attempting to follow hyperlinks in my email I get the message that that operation has been cancelled due to computer restrictions and to contact systems administrater. That's me. My settings show IE 9 as my default browser.

The XP partition is listed as a System, Healthy, Active, Primary partition. The 7 partition is listed as a Boot, Active, Healthy, Logical partition. How can I delete/format the XP partition and make the Windows 7 a primary partition? I have tried by using Disk Manager, and Eauseus Partition Manager, but it won't let me convert it to primary, or format the XP partition.

Please contact your system administrator." I sometimes wish I had a 'system administrator'. This is just my home pc. I can't think of any changes I made. This is Outlook 7 on Windows 7 Home Premium.

No access or occasionally terribly slow to do so. Also same when following links in GR emails . Can't find a contact number and have sent Emails to "contact@genesreunited.co.uk" No response from them for 10 days altho' I received a confirmation for the sub renewal I have just renewed for 12 months. View 12 Replies View RelatedI work in an architecture office using Quickbooks to track hours, expenses, billing, etc. The company QB files reside on the server in a shared directory that is mapped as drive Z: on all machines through a domain logon script that runs when each person logs on to their machine. The company file runs in multi-user mode so that everyone can access the file and enter their hours at the same time.The problem is that if anyone happens to leave Quickbooks open at night, the server backup process (running BackupExec) will skip the files that are in use, usually either 2 or 3 files. This is potentially bad news because if anything happened to the server the following day after those files were skipped, we would not have the file from the night before to restore, which could potentially mean lots of information lost (sometimes lots of info is entered in one day, especially on "billing" days).Sometimes people will leave in the afternoon for a meeting, thinking they'll be back later and leave their programs open. But then the meeting ends up running long and they don't come back until the next day. That's usually why Quickbooks ends up getting left open on a machine overnight.What I'm wondering is if there's a way to make the program automatically close, if it's open on any machine, perhaps just before the backup process starts on the server. Or, make the program close if the computer has been idle a certain amount of time.Is there any way to make this happen? All machines in our office that have Quickbooks on it run Windows 7, except for one machine that still runs XP.

Specifically, I use FF as my default browser, but I would like to use IE for a couple specific links. I know I can just open IE but it would be convenient to create an icon/link on the desktop to the location, and when opened, to be opened by IE rather then the default program for that extension (FF).I just realized that I could make another extension, a new one not used by any program, and just make that extension opened by IE by default then rename the link on the desktop, I think that would work, but is there a way to edit the link and tell it specifically what program to use when clicked rather then the default?

Yes, it's crappy design, but it's a game editor for an older game, and I'm evidently the last tech-savvy admin. That, or a sucker.I copied them onto the desktop, and am trying to copy them from there into the system32 directory. I hit the UAC prompt, and select continue. Infact there is the time etc... for slideshow.
Now to solved this BUG ? i must reinstall/upgrade again windows 7 ? or there are others solutions ?

View 0 Replies View RelatedI'm having a problem that seems to be compounding itself (maybe it's my imagination)... whenever I scroll in a page in IE8 with Flash content on it (side/top bar ads) the page becomes sluggish, jittery, etc. Does anyone know if there's a fix for this and is it caused by the ActiveX Flash plugin or from IE8 itself?
I'm not having this problem with Chrome or Firefox with the Flash plugin.

View 5 Replies View RelatedThis has been a problem for me since Vista. I was hoping that once I upgrade to Windows 7, this problem would go away, but it didn't.
I set my screensaver to the slideshow that comes with Windows. The folders I use is on my only SATA HDD. The power scheme is the default setting.
Most of the time, the screensaver slideshow would not come on. Instead, the desktop would be displayed until the power scheme turns the monitor off. I set the screensaver to come on after 15 minutes, and the LCD monitor to turn off after an hour of inactivity.
Again, I had this problem already with Vista, but it's the same issue with Windows 7. Does anyone have any idea why the screensaver doesn't start after 15 minutes?
lm looking for some software that acts in a similar way to windows slideshow which has similar options like being able to specify the time each slide comes up and randomly show images in specified folders, now you might say windows already does that.however the reason lm asking is because lm looking for a software that has an extra feature of being able to run a slide show of 2 or more images on one monitor.. that is to say having up to 4 images running as a slideshow, is there a way to do this as lve only found an old outdated program from early 2004 which seems to be labelled a virus by my antivirus software despite scanning a few times manually and finding nothing.
View 9 Replies View RelatedMy desktop background, which was a slideshow from one of my folders of photos suddenly froze on one picture which showed the top one third correctly, the second third as multicolored horizontal lines and the bottom one third as grey. I was unable to affect this in any way using 'personalize' but finally got rid of it by moving the folder of photos elsewhere and restarting. I am now only able to select a solid color. When I try to set anything else, I can set everything as I wish in the personalize window but when I click 'save changes' it reverts to solid color again. If I right click any picture and select 'Set as desktop background', absolutely nothing happens. I have tried restoring to an earlier time which had no effect on the problem.

After that, i cannot click ''OK'', it will not work,respond or anything...neither will cancel, I HAVE to hit the X which kills al my actions...also it will jump straight back to my last used theme if i click OK....so it wont ''OK'' but it does jump back to my last saved theme...very wierd...I have this with any theme downlaoded or not makes no difference, also weird is that the screen shows tearing or something when i scroll up and down!

View 1 Replies View RelatedAt work I set up a computer with dual monitors. One of the monitors is a tv that we want nothing except a powerpoint presentation on it. So I created the powerpoint, ran the slideshow on the tv and minimized it on the other monitor. Works great, unless I open other programs on the pc then the slideshow freezes on the tv! If I open anything, ms paint, firefox, any window or program the slideshow freezes until the program is minimized. Then it continues. How do I get around this?
apparently this is because the slideshow is run in full screen. If I go to "set up slide show" and run by an individual window then all is fine but then I have borders.
