Unable To Get Into Genes Reunited And Follow Links From Emails?
Jan 24, 2012No trouble with any other websites and have used G Reunited for 18 months with perfect results. This has been a problem since Christmas. No access or occasionally terribly slow to do so. Also same when following links in GR emails . Can't find a contact number and have sent Emails to "contact@genesreunited.co.uk" No response from them for 10 days altho' I received a confirmation for the sub renewal I have just renewed for 12 months. Now feel sore I cant use their website or links?

Sep 11, 2011I've been running XP for some years and recently set up Win 7 on a new SSD. In XP and using Opera browser, if I clicked on an web page's email link, my email client (Sylpheed) would open with the address inserted. With Win 7 and the email defaults set, it won't. Instead, it always returns an "Internal communication error" page (example link: Contact Us | PCWorld). Below are screenshots of my Win 7 email defaults and Opera preferences setting. One thing I'm not sure about, if it's at all relevant, is where Opera is picking up the default application from. In XP, it picked up Opera email as the default. The Other Application file location shown is exactly the same in both, except for the drive letter.

Aug 14, 2011I just had Windows 7 put on my computer but have not purchased the copy of my Premium Home Edition yet. I have 3 more weeks and I don't know if THAT is my problem which is;
I've seen earlier posts about this quirk that MS should have never let out of the barn. I've found some "solutions" on these forums but when I go to change settings in the default menus, it doesn't "save".
I'm referring to changing default in INT Explorer. Some posters refer to IE8 but mine only says Internet Explorer. My computer guy also has me set up for Google with Google toolbar which comes up when I select the Internet Icon. I would rather have the good old Internet Explorer page come up and type Google into the address bar as I need it vs. Google everything.
I only have 3 buttons OK CANCEL HELP
after I make my adjustments. So I hit OK, but it doesn't save as I will recheck it after each time I try. I do NOT have an apply button which I find strange.
ALSO, for some reason after hopping around on websites or Internet, I can't open my Outlook Express to check email. The Icon just kind of "glows" when I click on it and there is no right click options other than to "unpin" it from the menu bar.
I have to restart/reboot to be able to get back into Outlook to get my email again.
Send Link By Email Is Greyed Out?
Oct 29, 2009I'm using IE8 and Windows live mail both set as default apps. I'm running ultimate 64 bit. Here's the thing: I press "alt" key to bring up file menu. Under file I choose "Send". The "send link by email" and "send page by email" are greyed out. IE8 is set to my default browser and Windows live mail is set as default for my mail client. This occurs on both the 32 and 64 bit browser..

So I uninstalled Microsoft Office 2010 version and thought that would solve the problem. Then a few days later, when I'd click a link again in an e-mail, the window opened to print, on all links of every e-mail that should have opened browsers.
I noticed that I still had Windows Office 2007, so I uninstalled it also, but am left with the print window opening whenever I click a link in an e=mail.

Link In Received Email Opening In Word
Jan 18, 2011Windows 7. This started happening about a week ago. When I receive an email that has a link or when I even click on something I want to open that has a link. It opens the link in WORD. In order to open the link I have to save as a favorite and then it will open.

I have ie9 set as default browser. I have my email defaulted, as use my current email address. I rebooted after these setting changes. Yet both 'Send Page by Email' and 'Send Link by Email' are still grayed out. How to activate (ungray) these 2 commands?

May 17, 2011Not sure what happened, but starting this afternoon, Explorer 9 (released version via automatic update) will not open a link in a new tab, nor will it open that line into a new explorer window.Looked at multiple complaints and fixes for this, none worked (including the scripts). recent automatic windows 7 update to "allow further updates", I used firefox for the first time - note did not set it as the default, there was a java update and an adobe update. This machine is windows 7 sp1, completely updated 64bit home premium system. Turned off all the add ons, restarted - didn't fix it. Tried the script for the same problem, that didn't work. All the resetting has done, is removed the tool bars I like to use and it still doesn't work.

PC Will Not Follow Hyperlinks
Dec 28, 2012I am operating Windows 7 with IE9 as default browser. I use outlook for my e-mail. Recently while downloading a program I inadvertantly allowed Google Chrome to be installed.. I have uninstalled google, rebooted but when attempting to follow hyperlinks in my email I get the message that that operation has been cancelled due to computer restrictions and to contact systems administrater. That's me. My settings show IE 9 as my default browser.
