Outlook displays the following message when I click on a link in email: "This operation has been canceled due to restrictions in effect on this computer. Please contact your system administrator." I sometimes wish I had a 'system administrator'. This is just my home pc. I can't think of any changes I made. This is Outlook 7 on Windows 7 Home Premium.

No access or occasionally terribly slow to do so. Also same when following links in GR emails . Can't find a contact number and have sent Emails to "contact@genesreunited.co.uk" No response from them for 10 days altho' I received a confirmation for the sub renewal I have just renewed for 12 months. Now feel sore I cant use their website or links?

Why is that and how can I change it so it looks active when writing it? Some of the people receiving my emails says the links are not active so they have to copy/paste the links into their browser.??

When I click on links in my emails it opens up a new tab, but does not open the actual web page. In addition some links on webpages don't work (for instance the Print link on Google Maps). My popup blocker is turned off. What do I have to do to get these links to work?

I am using Outlook 2007 for email. All of a sudden, I can't click on any links without getting the following message:

I AM the sys admin! I had this problem once before due to an automatic update from Microsoft. After switching to Thunderbird email, the problem resolved itself (likely with another auto update from Microsoft).
I'd actually rather use another email program, but my wife's email setup REQUIRES Outlook 2007, or so we're told.
I'm running Windows 7 Home 64-bit with Office & Outlook 2010. I have automatic updates activated and am using the Windows firewall. AV products are McAfee, Spyware Doctor, and MS Security Essentials.The problem is that, when I click on a link in Outlook, the link doesn't open the browser. There is no error message, just the scrolling color bar that is supposed to indicate something is happening.I've tried waiting several minutes to see if an error message would come up, but haven't seen one yet. Eventually, I shut down Outlook and reboot the system.Upon reboot, when I go back into Outlook and click on the same link, it works every time. Once the computer has been up and running for a while, the problem reappears

It doesn't stay on the outbox, it stays on the sent items. All the recipients doest receive the mail. And i'm having <rx> Mail queued for delivery. on outlook log.I tried it with another computer with same setup, same email account, same email, same recipients and number of recipients. 1 BCC entry went through and was received ok and i was also able to send with 3 or more BCC entry and email was received properly.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI try to print an email from outlook, and it just goes into a wait loop. The circle spins, and the title bar says outlook is "not responding" - I'll say! I've tried copying the e-mail and pasting it into Word. That works, but when I try to print, I get the same "not responding" situation. I've tried this with a couple of different e-mails, but the problem is the same. This is a new failure in Outllok (and Word). The only thing I've tried is rebooting my PC which didn't help. I would use the Office self-fix, but I can't find it in the 2010 edition.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI'm the net admin for a small network. One of my users has a problem that has just started today, apparently. When emailed a link to a file on the internal network, from another user on this same network, clicking on the link simply gives an error about it not being allowed. (This operation has been cancelled due to restrictions in effect on this computer. contact your system administrator.)
All users are admins on their own local boxes. This user could perform this function prior to today. There is no problem with the structure of the link, nor with security for the file in question. (I first verified that the user has access to the file, and he does, he can navigate via Windows Explorer to the location, open the file, even has write access to that location)
Even when creating an email, and not using a masked link, but a full UNC path, the 'Crtl click' to go to the location results in the same error.
I tried removing spaces from the file name, same error. I tried typing out a link to a share (not a file), one that has no spaces and I know he has access to, same error.
This represents a significant problem. My users need to be able to send links to internal locations and files, and not attachments (for multiple reasons).
When I try to open a web hyperlink in my Outlook 2003 mail, I get a pop up saying it is "denied due to security settings on this computer." I can open hyperlinks in Hot Mail just fine. I have Windows 7. I have tried to change all my security settings but nothing will allow me to open links in Outlook mail. I started having this problem after I upgraded from XP to Windows 7.

1)When searching for an outlook email in the "instant search" bar in Outlook, the results are as expected (many results are displayed for the search term)
2) However, when searching from a search box using the exact same term as in #1 above, (e.g. when using "option F"), no results are displayed.
My understanding is that both of these search methods utilize the same index, application, etc...so this is perplexing. In looking at Indexing Options, it appears to be completely indexed. I have tried to rebuild the index several times with the same results.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI run an accounting program called PASTEL ACCOUNTING which generates emails that are sent to OUTLOOK 2010's outbox. i can see them in the outbox and they are subsequently sent correctly. i know this because they are received correctly by the recipient. However once the mail has left the Outbox it is not stored in the SENT folder and i therefore have no record of its existence! PASTEL tell me that since it has found its way into OUTLOOK it must be an OUTLOOK problem! i have a feeling MS will tell me its a PASTEL problem..

I linked out look to a domain email address I have and I am able to receive emails with no issue. When I send emails it actually shows "inbox(1)" then moves into the sent mail folder but it never arrives at the destination.

Fortunately the hard drive was unaffected and I have this now in a USB enclosure that I can access via my new laptop.The problem is that the old machine came pre-installed with the SBE version of Office 2007 whereas the new one came with a trial version of Office 2010, which has subsequently been activated as the Starter edition of Office 2010.So, I have an Office 2007 pst file and only Windows Live Mail on the new laptop.I've already done extensive searching for a solution but they all seem to require that there is a running version of Outlook in order to extract the data from the file and present it in a way that WLM can import.I did look at Mailstore Home but it says that this configuration (pst) is only supported in the Server version, which having been installed refuses to run claiming the trial period has expired.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI have a laptop running windows 7 and outlook 2007 I have no problems searching the emails on the server, but as that fills I have other folders which are saved on my HD, for some reason if I try to search for an email in one of those folders I get nothing, it used to work at one time. I get a message about items not all indexed and if I click on index status it says outlook us currently indexing your items, 4393 items remaining across all open mailboxes. This number has not gone down in hours it may have actually went up.
