When I try to open a web hyperlink in my Outlook 2003 mail, I get a pop up saying it is "denied due to security settings on this computer." I can open hyperlinks in Hot Mail just fine. I have Windows 7. I have tried to change all my security settings but nothing will allow me to open links in Outlook mail. I started having this problem after I upgraded from XP to Windows 7.

Did a clean install upgrade from XP and installed office 2003. I used a utility called backrex to save and reinstall my office settings. Everything works fine except my message rules do not work. I get an error message similar to unable to move from inbox. I deleted all of my rules and was only able to recreate the ones going through the specified account to a folder.
All other rules attempted produced the rule but the underlined portion that you click and fill out were not underlined so it is impossible to do the rules other than through the specified account.
After finishing each rule I attempted to run the rule in the inbox to sort the emails and that failed and I received the error message unable to move from inbox. I have 47 email accounts for my businesses and for my sanity must use rules. Has anyone else encountered this problem and does anyone know of a solution?

I'm running Windows 7 Home 64-bit with Office & Outlook 2010. I have automatic updates activated and am using the Windows firewall. AV products are McAfee, Spyware Doctor, and MS Security Essentials.The problem is that, when I click on a link in Outlook, the link doesn't open the browser. There is no error message, just the scrolling color bar that is supposed to indicate something is happening.I've tried waiting several minutes to see if an error message would come up, but haven't seen one yet. Eventually, I shut down Outlook and reboot the system.Upon reboot, when I go back into Outlook and click on the same link, it works every time. Once the computer has been up and running for a while, the problem reappears

I am running windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit. Whenever I try open outlook or anything in office 2003 I receive the following error message: please wait while windows configures microsoft office single image 2003. The above error message is an identical message sent to this Forum by "drumstik59" but was for Office 2010 instead of Office 2003. This was solved by the reply given by "Irene" which is. paste the following commands one at a time and press ENTER.

When attempting to Forward an email, Outlook will open a recent message from the Sent Items folder, instead of opening the desired message in draft view to be forwarded. The message that Outlook decides to open is not related to the desired email thread.I have:
-Run the Microsoft Office Repair;
-Removed and re-installed MS Office;
-Run ScanPst on all Archives;
-Disabled cached exchange mode, cleared the cache, re-enabled;
-Removed additional personal IMAP email accounts from Outlook.
This PC is a Dell Optiplex 755 Small Form Factor with Core 2 Duo and 2GB RAM.About a month ago the Hard Drive was predicted to fail, so I created a Windows Image from the Windows backup utility, swapped in a new hard drive, and applied the Image.I tried searching the issue, but Google could not provide any help on such an obscure issue but with terms common to other problems.

I have a new pc running win7. I recently installed MS Office 2007, and use Outlook for my emails. However, as a musician, i get emails from music shops with loads of pictures. On my old pc, clicking on an image would take me to their website and view the item in detail. But now i get the message "The operation has been canceled due to restrictions in effect on this computer.Please contact your system administrator" (that's me).

I am getting this error when trying to sendand rec emails: Sending' reported error (0x8004010F) : Outlook data file cannot be accessed. I had changed the name of the folder where my pst files are but i then went and redirected them (i have 6 different pst files) to the new location and i can open up microsoft outlook OK and look at the data files fine and see all the emails etc so there is nothing wrong with the actual data files. I also went in and tested each email account and they appearto be all OK also, ie: they will send a test message and come up with NO errors.

Having successfully moved my address book (.WAB format) to w7 and converted it to .CSV format I can get as far as "Select the Contacts folder that you want to import to" as in the website [URL] but when I click "next" the box is blank where a Contacts folder should be. In outlook 2003 I have some contacts which I added manually to address book so there should be an address book of some sort.

whatever i try to do on my outlook that has to do with .PST file management results in a crash where outlook quitsif i go to control panel > mail settings > data files 2 of the files that are in use (& work) do not show up, one of them the default mail delivery .PST. in these two, trying to access the advanced properties gives an error:The operation failed. An object could not be found.now - general googling tells me that recreating the profile could perhaps fix this - but i would love to avoid that as there's no manageable UI to set up the email accounts and there's many in use.event log on trying to open a pre-existing .PST that's not in the current profile:

Then I get a small error window with the message The application was unable to start correctly (0xc0000006). Please Click OK to continue.I click OK, and I see a frozen screen (black, not blue).That's it. Nothing else happen. Nothing works, except Ctrl+Alt+Del, Task Manager, where however, I cannot do anything.I can start window with the command prompt, or in safe mode, but I cannot go to explorer works (I have run explorer from the cmd prompt, with the same result as described above

I've recently been having problems opening some pages in Internet Explorer. Today for example I wanted to go to HP's support site. I got to the main site but when I clicked on Product Support the page wouldn't open and the message 'javascript:void(0)' appeared in the bottom left hand corner. It seems to be a fairly random problem as it only affects some websites.

I am using Outlook 2007 for email. All of a sudden, I can't click on any links without getting the following message:
"This operation has been canceled due to restriction in effect on this computer. Please contact your system administrator"
I AM the sys admin! I had this problem once before due to an automatic update from Microsoft. After switching to Thunderbird email, the problem resolved itself (likely with another auto update from Microsoft).
I'd actually rather use another email program, but my wife's email setup REQUIRES Outlook 2007, or so we're told.

I installed windows 7 yesterday and everything is great except for when I use my Outlook 2003. I am trying to open links within emails and they automatically open with Internet Explorer and not my default browser Opera. I have changed all the settings I can in default programs -associate a file type-but cannot change settings in the protocols which are defaulted to IE for HTTP, FTP & HTTPs - could this be the problem and if so is there a way to fix it?

When I write emails in Outlook 2007 and write a link it looks like it is not active but when I read the email after sending, I can see that the link is active since it is underlined www.example.link but when I write it it is not underlined [URL]
Why is that and how can I change it so it looks active when writing it? Some of the people receiving my emails says the links are not active so they have to copy/paste the links into their browser.??

I'm the net admin for a small network. One of my users has a problem that has just started today, apparently. When emailed a link to a file on the internal network, from another user on this same network, clicking on the link simply gives an error about it not being allowed. (This operation has been cancelled due to restrictions in effect on this computer. contact your system administrator.)
All users are admins on their own local boxes. This user could perform this function prior to today. There is no problem with the structure of the link, nor with security for the file in question. (I first verified that the user has access to the file, and he does, he can navigate via Windows Explorer to the location, open the file, even has write access to that location)
Even when creating an email, and not using a masked link, but a full UNC path, the 'Crtl click' to go to the location results in the same error.
I tried removing spaces from the file name, same error. I tried typing out a link to a share (not a file), one that has no spaces and I know he has access to, same error.
This represents a significant problem. My users need to be able to send links to internal locations and files, and not attachments (for multiple reasons).

I'm going to take another shot at this. I can't seem to get my Outlook 2003 to open a mail link from within a message. I clink on 'address@somewhere.com' and it opens a 'Locate Link Browser' box. I'll stress here that I am not having any problem opening web links in the same email messages, only email addresses.
