Can't Open 97-2003 Office Docs In 2010

Jun 13, 2011

My company recently installed Windows 7 and Office 2010. Every time I try to open a excel file, via a link on our Intranet it asks for credentials.I ruled out IE, firewall, and the document. I narrowed it down to something in Excel except i can't find it. Its like a security setting.I was able to open the file when I had Office XP installed but as soon as i installed Office 2010 it won't work.

(I thought I had already put on a limited-purpose reader, but that was at work and for Win XP) Something installed too fast for me to make out what it was - I thought it was a compatibility pack, but when I tried to work on a Power Point project this morning it came up in Power Point 2007 READ ONLY.How do I get my Power Point 2002 back?

Frontpage 2003 In Windows 7 With Office 2010?

Feb 27, 2012

I´ve got problems with FP 2003 in Windows 7. They are compatibles? In Start->All Programs browse to the |frontPage icon Right Click, then i choose compatibility with Windows XP SP2 that is the option that FP choose for you and nothing works rigth. I prove with other compatibility options and nothing...I´ve got 2 virtual machines running in Windows 7- 32 bits. They have Office 2010 packet and Frontpage 2003. In one machine i could upload archives to frontpage but i can´t save that archive in FP in that moment, i must save it in another site and later upload at FP again. That is a little problem comparing the problem that i have with the other machine. With the other machine when i try to upload any kind of archive to FP the error is "the server was closed inexperately".

Power-point Very Slow Screen Updates?

Oct 27, 2009

I've installed my copy of Office XP (which works perfectly well for my purposes and I don't need any new features of later versions!), and Powerpoint 2002 runs very slowly re-drawing the screen. After selecting a "Slide design" from the view menu, it takes a two or three seconds to redraw the background if I switch between slides, type some text in a text box over the background, resize the window etc. (No delays when switching slides during a slide show though.)It works very fast on my old laptop running XP. My Windows 7 desktop computer is a Core Duo E7400 with a GTX260 graphics card (latest drivers installed) so should be about 10x faster than the laptop!

I don't want to buy or install Microsoft Office 2010 only for the Power Point Viewer because I really don't like it, don't use it and it takes huge space in my hard disk.Same about Open Office. I have been using the small application of Microsoft to run the power points. Just the viewer. Is anyone with x64 running the power point viewer? Does anyone know of a small sized alternative?

Importing Template Files From Office 2003 To Office 2010

However, I am at a loss as to how and where to save them into the new programme on my desktop PC. If it makes a difference, I should add that I do not use Libraries and have disabled them.

Word 2010 Is Opening Word 2003 Attachments?

I did not think too much of it, except that later I was sending an e-mail and attached a Word 2003 document and when I went to check it (i.e. open it up) it opened in Word 2010. How do I disable Word 2010 as my default program to open Word documents. I do not want to uninstall the program, but at this point I am not ready to learn how to use Word 2010.
