Sep 9, 2009My computer automatically downloaded a trojan horse virus.
When ever i reboot my laptop my avg shows a warning then a few minutes it says threat removed, But this is happening everytime i reboot my computer. Aalso every now and then when i load up my firefox i get a warning about a cookie.
Is there any way i can fully remove all of these or any help would be highley appriciated.

Oct 11, 2011I cannot uninstall, repair, or install Virtual Router v0.9 Beta. Codeplex does not respond at all to the 1001 error, as I have seen from some posts over a year old. I would like to remove it, and I believe the error originated after a system restore.During Uninstall attemptError 1001. Exception occurred while initializing the installation:System.IO.FileNotFoundException:Could not load file or assembly 'file:///D:\Program Files (x86)\VirtualRouterService.exe' or one of its dependencies. The system cannot find the file specified.I hit ok, and then it says to close.During Repair attemptError 1001. The specified service already exists >>>> I then hit okay and this pops up:Error 1001. Could not find file 'D:\Program Files (x86)\Virtual Router\VirtualRouterClient.InstallState'. >>>I then hit close to exit.I imagine the solution to be to install it on another computer and copy the files onto my current via a flash drive?

May 22, 2012problem in making my laptop a virtual wi-fi hotspot using Virtual Router Manager.Earlier it worked perfectly, I successfully surfed the internet on my mobile phone with my laptop as a hotspot. Now, when I go to a website it says "service unavailable". I thought it was a problem with my phone but it works fine with other wi-fi spots. Is there any configuration I have to do in my laptop?

May 22, 2012I am having problems with my wireless connection dropping. Sometimes it actually takes down the wireless router requiring it to be reset.. Win 7 64 home premium. I know the problem is with this laptop. I have tried 2 different routers and 2 different network adapters . It usually it kills the connection, but sometimes the whole wireless network. first thing I am looking at is my devices and I notice 2 Microsoft Virtual WIFi adapters. I uninstall one, and a few minutes later it is back. COuld this be part of the problem? Why are there 2? Do I need any? How can I get rid of one?

Jun 19, 2012I have a D-Link DIR615 router which I've been using for the past 5 months (no problems whatsoever). After i've got my laptop from the support service I can't seem to successfully connect to my home network.
My phone can connect with no problem to my router. My laptop sees other wireless networks. This is how it goes: when I try to connect it immediately says "unable to connect" when I run the diagnostics I get the "windows did not receive any response from the wireless router" message. I can only connect after like 30 mins of changing the wireless settings (usually SSID and security) from my router + rebooting it countless times. Even then, I usually check "automatically connect" and the next day after I arrive from work, it doesn't really connect automatically and can't even connect to it (unable to connect message). Even typing a wrong passphrase when it's secured it doesn't say "wrong passphrase" but "unable to connect".
Another very wierd thing is that my wireless network disappears from the network list after a few minutes, I still see other secured wireless networks.
I can connect to a wireless network made by phone (wifi hotspot) with no problems.

May 19, 2011Last week I had a Win XP desktop computer. I use a Netgear WGR614 V6 router. I have fiber to the house and use a Cat5e Ethernet cable to connect the router to the wall jack and Cat5e from the router to the XP computer. I also used Wi-Fi to connect my Windows 7 x64 new laptop and an older XP laptop to the Internet. Everyone was happy and all worked well! I set-up a new Dell Windows 7 x64 desktop computer (it currently connects to the Internet just fine).
During the period I was setting up the new Windows 7 desktop I had both the XP desktop unit AND the new Windows 7 desktop connected to the router via Ethernet cables (at that time both laptops could connect to the Internet). After I had transferred the XP files to the Win 7 computer I just shut down the XP computer and removed the Ethernet cable linking the XP computer and the router - the new Windows 7 computer still connected to the Internet fine (as it still does today).
I made 2 changes to the router:
1) I had the XP desktop connected to Port 3 on the back of the router and had the Windows 7 x64 desktop connected to Port 2 on the router.
2) I used Cat5e cable on the XP desktop and used a Cat 6 cable to connect the new Windows 7 desktop unit to the router.
Both laptops see my router name but neither laptop can connect - even ran the troubleshooting routine. Could simply using Cat6 cable be causing a problem (Windows 7 desktop connects fine via the cable, laptops can not connect via Wi-Fi)? Surely just changing the port I connect the desktop cable to the router with wouldn't cause any problem would it? Do I need to do some sort of set-up or configuration to the new desktop unit to make the router Wi-Fi work for the laptops?

Oct 30, 2012Recently installed Windows 7 and I have been having some weird WIFI problems.when I connect to my edimax (BR6424N) router, I get very bad connections, with lots of timeouts mid page loading. its is very sporadic and inexplicable. the internet is fine when I connect with a cable and when I connect to the neighbors wifi. It is also fine when I connect my wife's computer to our wifi (she runs vista) and my android tablet is fine too.I scanned for viruses, changed the wifi password, cleared the cache, and the channel and I also used three different browsers as well as outlook and dropbox and they all have the same problems. If I recall i have a few days where it was fine before this started, I feel like it has to do with updates but that would be pretty weird.
