Same wifi network works on my laptop but not my desktop. Running the troubleshooter on my desktop comes up with no errors. My ipconfig /all is below.

View 49 Replies View RelatedI have a Dell Inspiron 15 Laptop. It always works great except for one problem I have had from the beginning. When I am at some place like Starbucks or the Library and want to use the internet, my computer will show me the list of "Wireless Network Connections" available and I can click on the library for example and it will connect just fine. It will show the word "Connected" under the "Library" connection. But it will also say "No Internet Access". This happens anytime I go to a free wifi hotspot. I have learned that there is an additional login required. So for the library I would have to pull up my browser, go to their website and find their login. The problem with this is that sometimes you don't know the URL to their website so you can't login. there is some setting on my computer I can change to make the login screen come up automatically or even bypass this option. When I use these wifi hotspots with my phone or Google Nexus I never have this problem.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI connect to my home wifi and it says connected, but there is no internet connection.I noticed that network adapter shows "wireless network connection 2" with that "2" at the end of name. I guess there is a problem. If I rename it to just "wireless network connection" it says it already exists. But cannot see it, and use it! Can anyone tell me how to reset it or somehow switch to "wireless network connection" without "2"?

My wifi at work will recognize the wireless network and says it's connected. Yet there is no internet. So I use the Ethernet cable and internet works. My wifi connects immediately on my home wifi router with no issues. I had wireless working flawlessly last week, but all this week it won't connect.

View 7 Replies View RelatedLast week I had a Win XP desktop computer. I use a Netgear WGR614 V6 router. I have fiber to the house and use a Cat5e Ethernet cable to connect the router to the wall jack and Cat5e from the router to the XP computer. I also used Wi-Fi to connect my Windows 7 x64 new laptop and an older XP laptop to the Internet. Everyone was happy and all worked well! I set-up a new Dell Windows 7 x64 desktop computer (it currently connects to the Internet just fine).
During the period I was setting up the new Windows 7 desktop I had both the XP desktop unit AND the new Windows 7 desktop connected to the router via Ethernet cables (at that time both laptops could connect to the Internet). After I had transferred the XP files to the Win 7 computer I just shut down the XP computer and removed the Ethernet cable linking the XP computer and the router - the new Windows 7 computer still connected to the Internet fine (as it still does today).
I made 2 changes to the router:
1) I had the XP desktop connected to Port 3 on the back of the router and had the Windows 7 x64 desktop connected to Port 2 on the router.
2) I used Cat5e cable on the XP desktop and used a Cat 6 cable to connect the new Windows 7 desktop unit to the router.
Both laptops see my router name but neither laptop can connect - even ran the troubleshooting routine. Could simply using Cat6 cable be causing a problem (Windows 7 desktop connects fine via the cable, laptops can not connect via Wi-Fi)? Surely just changing the port I connect the desktop cable to the router with wouldn't cause any problem would it? Do I need to do some sort of set-up or configuration to the new desktop unit to make the router Wi-Fi work for the laptops?

The rest of the toys in the house still connect through the router but the laptop does not. If the lan cable is plugged in the internet works. I used this to find the latest drivers for my laptops wifi card. Through the wifi I can enter the router settings but not externally to the internet.

I always just unplugged the router for 10 seconds and was able to connect. Suddenly today, I can't connect to the internet, but my wifi network appears to be fine. It says I have excellent signal strength and that I'm connected but I can't connect to the internet. When I go to the program that came with the router and hit "repair".
It says that I am connected to the network, but that my internet connection is broken...??? I tried using another device to see if I could connect with internet, my ipod touch and it also said that I was connected to the wifi network...yet it could not connect with the internet. It never had a popup that said anything, it acted like it was trying to connect but just never did.
Wifi connected but after like 5 - 15 mins, it shows no internet access (yellow !) at random. Sometimes it can happen every 1 min and freuqency great increases when im streaming a video/uploading/downloading or playing an online game.
I tried all the solutions such /run winsock reset & preferred DNS 218. 67. 222. 222.

View 4 Replies View RelatedJust did a clean windows 7 x64 installation on a build a box computer with a new hard drive. Install went fine. Plugged it in to my 3 month old Linksys Wireless G Broadband Router (WRT54GL) and it doesn't recognize that there is any connection at all. Windows says "No connections are available" and troubleshooting can't identify the problem. The light on the router and on the computer comes on. I am running a wired connected XP computer and 2 Win 7 x32 wireless connected computers just fine. Ran ipconfig /all and it came up as follows:

All wires are connected. I've tried booting in Safe mode with networking. I've even connected the computer directly to the cablevision modem. I've installed a USB Linksys wireless adapter and although it installs fine, it doesn't see the router at all. I've also tried reinstalling the router directly on this computer but it doesn't see the router at all.
I've tried setting up a new connection or network, Connecting to a network and choosing a homegroup and sharing option but since you need a network to connect to first I couldn't do it.
I am running windows 7, 64 bit and have been having an issue with my Linksys E1500 router recently that has my ISP
My router will respond to pings from my laptop both wirelessly and when connected via ethernet cable, and will respond to pings from my ISP, but it won't allow my laptop to connect to the internet. I have rest and reconfigured the router a bunch of times, leaving the MAC address alone, cloning it to my laptop's ethernet port, and cloning it to my wireless cards MAC addresses, respectively. None of that allows it to connect. Linksys (Cisco) has been useless in helping both via their site and when contacted, encouraging me to pay $40 to talk to someone who MAY be able to help.
Note: The router worked fine for about 4 months, then one morning, couldn't connect to the internet through it. Have to connect directly from the modem via ethernet cable.

Been trying all day to connect to the internet with the above router.Happened accross a screen saying Firewall settings.It says for the inbound services "BLOCK always" is this my problem?I have tried to amend this to " ALLOW always" to which the outbound services are already set.My next problem is it is asking for the inbound services to be adjusted so I have setthe service parameter to ALL, action ALLOW always but now is the problem it wants an address putting into the 4 boxes for the Send to LAN Server parameter,I have tried various setting but to no avail. View 2 Replies View RelatedI can connect to wi-fi, but not to other the internet. A wired connection will not connect to the internet either. Other devices (ipad, laptop, directv box, etc... all connect fine. Using the network map I can see the other devices on my network from this pc. If I run in safe mode with networking I can connect to the internet.
Windows firewall is disabled, using McAfee firewall. I momentarily disabled all firewalls and still unable to connect to the internet. I have scanned the computer (in safe mode) with McAfee, Malware Malybytes, & the MS Windows malicous software scanner. All clean. I was thinking virus or malware, but have done everything I can think of.
I have been having a problem with connecting to Wifi signals ever since this RunDLL error message has started popping up when I restart my computer.
