I can connect to wi-fi, but not to other the internet. A wired connection will not connect to the internet either. Other devices (ipad, laptop, directv box, etc... all connect fine. Using the network map I can see the other devices on my network from this pc. If I run in safe mode with networking I can connect to the internet.
Windows firewall is disabled, using McAfee firewall. I momentarily disabled all firewalls and still unable to connect to the internet. I have scanned the computer (in safe mode) with McAfee, Malware Malybytes, & the MS Windows malicous software scanner. All clean. I was thinking virus or malware, but have done everything I can think of.
Just did a clean windows 7 x64 installation on a build a box computer with a new hard drive. Install went fine. Plugged it in to my 3 month old Linksys Wireless G Broadband Router (WRT54GL) and it doesn't recognize that there is any connection at all. Windows says "No connections are available" and troubleshooting can't identify the problem. The light on the router and on the computer comes on. I am running a wired connected XP computer and 2 Win 7 x32 wireless connected computers just fine. Ran ipconfig /all and it came up as follows:
Host Name.................... : Bottomdweller-PC Primary DNS suffix.......... : Node Type ....................: Hybrid
[Code]....
All wires are connected. I've tried booting in Safe mode with networking. I've even connected the computer directly to the cablevision modem. I've installed a USB Linksys wireless adapter and although it installs fine, it doesn't see the router at all. I've also tried reinstalling the router directly on this computer but it doesn't see the router at all.
I've tried setting up a new connection or network, Connecting to a network and choosing a homegroup and sharing option but since you need a network to connect to first I couldn't do it.
I disconnected my wired internet on my pc by right clicking on the internet icon down on the right toolbar and therefrom i disconnected. Right now I can't connect it back. I've tried unplugg and plugg it in (not working) and restarting the pc (again, not working).
My PC connects to the internet (wired) perfectly, but my TOSHIBA laptop does not. The router does not show the correct lights when plugged into the laptop, so I have tried resetting the router (with no success). When I plug the ethernet cable into the laptop, nothing happens at all.
I recently ran into a problem. I cannot access any website through any browsers (Internet Explorer 64-bit works fine). In Google Chrome I get this:Error 137 (net::ERR_NAME_RESOLUTION_FAILED): Unknown errorAll my other Internet-reliant programs (Steam, XFire, SKype, etc.) work fine, with the exception of MBAM (can't connect in order to update definitions).I've ran TDSS Killer (found nothing), MBAM (found a few things, removed all), and Microsoft Security Scanner (found a few things, removed all).
My desktop (windows 7 ultimate 64bit) has been able to connect fine to the internet until I got home from work this morning. My laptop is connecting to the same modem fine through wireless (along with my wii). The modem I am using is Motorola SB 901. When I rightclick my connection on my desktop and hit troubleshoot problems, I get 'local area connection 2 doesn't have a valid ip configuration'. Same thing happens when I switch the ethernet cord to local area connection 1. When I go to control panel, network and internet, network and sharing, the connection map at the top stops between my pc and the network (which is now labeled as 'unidentified network'). Here is a list of what I have done so far to try and resolve the issue:
1. Replaced the ethernet cord with one I know is working
2. Full scanned my pc for viruses
3. Disabled all firewalls and virus protection programs
4. Restored my pc to a previous save state
5. Reset winsock with cmd via these prompts: netsh winsock reset catalog and netsh int ip reset reset.log hit
6. This attempt is unfinished as I am getting stuck. I am attempting to setup a static ip to attempt to resolve the issue, but when I open cmd and type ipconfig/all, the default gateway under my local area connection is completely blank. Here is what comes up with ipconfig/all:
C:UsersPaul>ipconfig/all Windows IP Configuration Host Name . . . . . . . . . . . . : Paul-PC Primary Dns Suffix . . . . . . . : Node Type . . . . . . . . . . . . : Hybrid
For some reason my router and modem will not show correctly on my dell inspirion one desktop. Im running windows 7 and here are the net work connection deatils

The Connection was working about ten days ago and then suddenly stopped and read as an unidentified network no internet access. at one point is was not receiving packets but now it is but it still says no internet access on the IPv4 Connectivity. Media state is also enabled and the speed is 100.0 Mbps when i troubleshoot it says windows cant identify problem but in the details it says default gateway is available. when i use the cmd prompt ipconfig/all my local ethernet adapter has a physical address of all zeros.
I have been unable to connect to anything on my wired network, for about the last week. I don't remember making any changes however, I just became unable to connect.I having done a little troubleshooting.1. I can connect to the shares of my Windows Home Server if I use the IP address. The name does not resolve.2. Flushed DNS and restarting DNS server. Flushing DNS works on one client, to allow browsing by the name & restarting DNS works on the other. However neither works after a restart.3. Only my Wifi clients are experiencing this issue. My wired clients, desktops, PS3, Xbox 360, and Boxee can connect perfectly. This issue is not limited to my server. I can't connect to shares on my desktop, nor print to my wired printer. Some network background:I have DSL through CenturyLink and have a Linksys E2000 router.
I am unable to connect to the internet in wireless mode. It shows the available networks, but does not connect when I type in my router password. I have tried everything I know of. Uninstalled/Reinstalled the driver - I have an Intel 5100 AGN wireless driver installed. I disabled and enabled it. Didn't work. Running command prompt and typing in ipconfig /all doesn't detect my adapter device - says "Media Disconnected".I also did these by running command prompt as an administrator: Reset WINSOCK entries to installation defaults: netsh winsock reset catalogReset IPv4 TCP/IP stack to installation defaults. netsh int ipv4 reset reset.logReset IPv6 TCP/IP stack to installation defaults. netsh int ipv6 reset reset.logand restarted my computer. I have a Dell Studio 1555 with Win 7 (32-bit) Professional. What am I supposed to do now? Please help!PS: I know this is a problem with my Windows as the wireless works seamlessly in my Ubuntu.
I have been having a problem with connecting to Wifi signals ever since this RunDLL error message has started popping up when I restart my computer. When I plug in an Ethernet cord I can connect to the internet but I can't connect to Wifi signals. I'm figuring there are some files missing by what these error messages are telling me.
The Messages: (appears in two different windows) There was a problem starting c:/Users/SUNFLO~1/AppData/Local/Temp/wrvetx.dll The Specified module could not be found There was a problem starting c:/Users/SUNFLO~1/AppData/Local/Temp/roron.dll The specified module could not be found
At one point I ran a virus scan; could it be that the files got contaminated and were deleted? If so how do I get these files back?
I've been away from the PC world for the past few years because I've been running a Mac.I decided to get back into some gaming on picked up a Dell XPS desktop running windows 7 ultimate x64.I bought a Asus USB N10 Wifi Adapter and it won't connect to the internet. It gets a limited activity logo over top of the connection. Today I tried plugging it rite into the router with a LAN cable and still, no dice. Came up with an IP address error.I'm guessing this is a router issue? When i run ipconfig in cmd prompt, it doesn't even have a default gateway?
I have sony laptop, i have install the internet driver, but i cant access network. i connect through wifi and i have all info of wifi eg. Username and pasword but that shows no internet access so
For the past few months, I have been accessing the internet with my laptop's wifi through my neighbor's password-protected network (with his permission). I also sometimes go online using another neighborhood network which does NOT have a security key.As of today, I can view networks and connect to both of these (as well as others), but I can't get online. I get the "No Internet access" message when I connect to any network. When I go to the command prompt and type ipconfig /all, I get this for IPv4 address: 192.168.1.9(Preferred) and I cannot successfully ping any ip addresses.
Hey, I've recently reinstalled my Windows 7 Home Premium and I since my PC does not detect the router.I've tried using a SKY recovery disk, but that failed and nothing happened. Do I need to download a specific driver so the PC can detect the router?
I've been trying to create a homegroup which my laptop (wireless) and my computer (wired) will be part of. They are both connected to the same router. My wireless is called "BuckleyWireless" and my wired computer is connected to something called "VirginMedia478xxx". I'm not sure whether these have to be the same name for it to work so I thought I'd post this anyway.I've checked the subnet mask for both computers and they are the same.I've tried turning off the firewalls on both computers.I've gone into advanced settings so that both computers are "visible" within the network. My laptop is now visible on my wired computer but it can't actually be accessed for some reason.
i have a samsung galaxy ace. my laptop is accessing internet through wifi from my friend's building. So can i access internet in my samsung galaxy through wifi from my laptop? if yes..how?
What are my options for connecting a laptop wirelessly to a workstation that is connected to a wired LAN and has no router?Essentially, I want to add wireless connectivity to the workstation so that the laptop can connect to the wired LAN via the workstation.
Me again, so I know why the Windows 7 HP PC in my last thread won't connect to a wired network here at work, however I've just tried to connect this PC (which is running Windows 7 Professional 32 bit, 2.6Ghz Quad core, 4GB RAM (it's an Acer Veriton X275)) and I get the same stuff. It sees an unidentifed local area connection but it tells me there is no internet access and no network access. Not only is this annoying, but having just got the company to spend over 450 on copies of Windows 7 Pro for 4 other PCs (as well as memory upgrades for 2) it's more than a little worrying!
why this Windows 7 PRO PC won't connect to a wired network? Server PC is running Windows Server 2000, coming through a Netgear switch.
I have windows XP mode installed on Window 7 Enterprise and running Windows XP ofcorce. I need to connect my laptop to wired network and in some time to connect wireless for XP mode using. What I mean : I want to use wired internet for my Windows 7 and in same time wireless network for windows XP in XP mode that is running. This I need because those two windows need to be connected in different networks.
My Desktop is connected to a NetGear Router and is on a DLS line to internet. My wireless laptop picks up signal ok and goes online, it also "sees" desktop name, but I can't connect to it for file and printer sharing.
I currenly work in an IT department and have given this 'project'.
We have a number of users who have been given 32bit Windows 7 laptops for remote, home and office working.
I have been asked to create a batch file so that as soon as the user comes into the office they plug the laptop into the network and it should use the wired connection automatically to access the corporate LAN. As soon as they work away and need to access the corporate network remotly they do not need to press the wireless button on the laptop, when the laptop is switched and logged on i want the laptop to know that it is not on a wired network and for the wireless to kick in.
I have created two bat files -
netsh interface set interface Wireless Network Connection Disable
and
netsh interface set interface Wireless Network Connection Enable
these have been placed in task scheduler under create a basic task. I have tried both of these in cmd prompt but they still don't work.
My Windows 7 laptop works Fine at home on my broadband with a wired connection, When I take my laptop downtown and try to connect to a company network, via a wire, windows 7 fails to find the connection.
so i finally decided to install Windows 7 x86 - everything went well - put all the standard stuff on there etc - i rebooted many times because of installations and updates
on my last reboot it just got stock in the bios screen (verifying dmi pool data..success! etc)
so i rebooted, same thing, took the disc out, same thing - turned off boot devices same thing
tried to use window's useless repair tools (whatever happened to repair install?) which didn't help - so i decided to format and reinstall - then it says it was unable to do that (partition error or something)
the annoying this is...is that this EXACT..i mean EXACT same thing happened when i installed vista sp1 from scratch - this happened - and to fix it i had to leave my pc open overnight with the hard drive cables all unplugged..in the morning with my fingers crossed i tried the installation again - and it worked.
my d: always disappears (single hard disk sata 233gig (250)) - sometimes it'll vanish from my computer and stuff - but this can't be the problem because the d: is a single drive on its own - my c: is a25gig partition from my e: - so it's completely unrelated.
does it matter how i replug the sata cables (2 of them) into the mother board? - they're both being recognised anyway
this is really annoying though - mostly because there isn't really an explanation - and because this random stuff always happens to my pc! - is it my hard drive because that's the only thing that would half- make sense
I have a Sony Vaio with windows 7 OS (64bit), I have installed and ran several differnet antivirus and malware programs and found nothing. I ran a full virus Scan (Kasperksy anti-virus 2012) and no issues found, I tried to do a System Restore to earlier date (it failed), I can see that i have an issue with the WAN Miniport IKEv2 (It will not deinstall...to try and reinstall...it just errors), I get "Diagnostic Policy Service not running" every time i try to trouble shoot. I have even performed a system scan, (cmd.exe....cfs/scannow) and it found nothing. I even bought a new USB wirelss adapter to try and get online and it doesnt work. I have tried to log on to the internet at work through our network as well as at home through my home netowork (two different providers) and nothing works
I have - A Laptop with Windows 7 UltimateA Linksys Wireless Router with ports which are all Ethernet ports (i.e. no USB ports).A Tata Photon Plus (which is basically a Wireless USB Modem)I have been trying to setup a wireless network to have my handheld devices connect to the internet.I have - Connected the Ethernet port of my laptop to one of the Ethernet Ports of my Wireless Router.I have connected my Wireless USB Modem to my laptop (as my Router does not have a USM port). My Questions While I have been able to setup the Wireless Network, the Network shows "No Internet Access". Can someone help me with how to bring in Internet to the Wireless Network? I am sorry but I don't have enough networking acumen which would enable me to do this without assistance.
So I have laptop and I have wired internet.Yesterday its just stoped working
-IPv4 connecitivty No internet access -IPv6 connectivity No network access
When Im trying to detecting problems Troubleshooting couldnt identify the problem. Now It says Your computer appears to be correctly configured ,but the device or resoucre (www.miscrosoft.com) is not responding.when i type ipconfig/all its say Windows Ip configuration.
