View 1 RepliesFor the past few months, I have been accessing the internet with my laptop's wifi through my neighbor's password-protected network (with his permission). I also sometimes go online using another neighborhood network which does NOT have a security key.As of today, I can view networks and connect to both of these (as well as others), but I can't get online. I get the "No Internet access" message when I connect to any network.When I go to the command prompt and type ipconfig /all, I get this for IPv4 address: 192.168.1.9(Preferred) and I cannot successfully ping any ip addresses.
View 1 Replies View RelatedLast night I was on the internet at home absolutely fine and my laptop automatically downloaded an update, since then I have been unable to connect to my wi-fi. I deleted the updates and was still unable to connect, so I tried to used a system recovery restore point and every one I use starts but fails to complete.So, I did a factory reset after around 8 hours of trying to sort it out today and I STILL have the same problem. I can plug in the cable to connect and my housemate is having absolutely no issues connecting and neither is my phone so now I am at a total loss what I should do to resolve this. Prior to the factory reset I was able to connect to the wi-fi but it was stating no network access/limited access and now it simply won't connect to my internet at all. It finds my full strength signal but will not connect.My drivers for the Broadcom 4313 802.11b/g/n card are the most up to date and the laptop (HP G62) says it is working fine.

The Connection was working about ten days ago and then suddenly stopped and read as an unidentified network no internet access. at one point is was not receiving packets but now it is but it still says no internet access on the IPv4 Connectivity. Media state is also enabled and the speed is 100.0 Mbps when i troubleshoot it says windows cant identify problem but in the details it says default gateway is available. when i use the cmd prompt ipconfig/all my local ethernet adapter has a physical address of all zeros.
I am unable to connect to the internet in wireless mode. It shows the available networks, but does not connect when I type in my router password. I have tried everything I know of. Uninstalled/Reinstalled the driver - I have an Intel 5100 AGN wireless driver installed. I disabled and enabled it. Didn't work. Running command prompt and typing in ipconfig /all doesn't detect my adapter device - says "Media Disconnected".I also did these by running command prompt as an administrator: Reset WINSOCK entries to installation defaults: netsh winsock reset catalogReset IPv4 TCP/IP stack to installation defaults. netsh int ipv4 reset reset.logReset IPv6 TCP/IP stack to installation defaults. netsh int ipv6 reset reset.logand restarted my computer. View 3 Replies View RelatedI can connect to wi-fi, but not to other the internet. A wired connection will not connect to the internet either. Other devices (ipad, laptop, directv box, etc... all connect fine. Using the network map I can see the other devices on my network from this pc. If I run in safe mode with networking I can connect to the internet.
Windows firewall is disabled, using McAfee firewall. I momentarily disabled all firewalls and still unable to connect to the internet. I have scanned the computer (in safe mode) with McAfee, Malware Malybytes, & the MS Windows malicous software scanner. All clean. I was thinking virus or malware, but have done everything I can think of.
Same wifi network works on my laptop but not my desktop. Running the troubleshooter on my desktop comes up with no errors. My ipconfig /all is below.

I have been having a problem with connecting to Wifi signals ever since this RunDLL error message has started popping up when I restart my computer. When I plug in an Ethernet cord I can connect to the internet but I can't connect to Wifi signals. I'm figuring there are some files missing by what these error messages are telling me.

Since I no longer have my connectivity icon, I can not view the available networks, and therefore cannot select one to connect to. Only my home WIFI connection works.This is bad, since I will be moving soon and leaving my home network. anyway, after charging it up and turning it on, i started to install programmes and other bits and bobs. e.g ituens, flash player. just the usual essentials. i used the laptop to watch videos on Internet, genenral browing such as facebook, so in short, the internet was working fine. just before i went to bed that night i installed avg security (free version) and ran a full scan. when the scan finished, i put the laptop into hibernate, and went to sleep! happy in the knowledge my new gizmo was running smoothly!
just before i woke up i heard the laptop turn off as it had run out of charge. so i plugged it in and charged it up, then turned it on. this is where the problem starts...i connected via wifi however the logo at the bottom right of the screen showed the signal strength meter on empty, with a yellow star covering it. i clicked the icon, and it said, 'not connected, connections are available' and below shows im connected with 5/5 signal strength, but on 'limited access'.
1) there might be a problem with the driver for the local area connection adapter
2)there might be a problem with the driver for the wireless network connection adapter
there are 28 updates, but im unable to update them as i have no internet connection. i also cant connect via the ethernet cable.i cant roll back the drivers as there are no previously installed ones, and i cant update them as i am already up to date.my other laptop (acer aspire 5630 running on vista) works perfectly fine using wifi and the ethernet cable, so i honestly dont know whats wrong. after reading things on my acer about ways to fix the problem i came to the decision to restore the laptop to the time of my first installation which was adobe flash player (which i installed the day before.) i was unable to do a full factory reset as the only options available are to either restore to a backup, or re-install windows (which requires a disc, which i dont have). i also didnt configure a backup as i had only had the laptop a day!
I've been away from the PC world for the past few years because I've been running a Mac.I decided to get back into some gaming on picked up a Dell XPS desktop running windows 7 ultimate x64.I bought a Asus USB N10 Wifi Adapter and it won't connect to the internet. It gets a limited activity logo over top of the connection. Today I tried plugging it rite into the router with a LAN cable and still, no dice. Came up with an IP address error.I'm guessing this is a router issue? When i run ipconfig in cmd prompt, it doesn't even have a default gateway?

View 7 Replies View RelatedI have been using my home internet in my new place for a couple of weeks fine, yesterday morning when I tried it it had the limited access yellow triangle and wouldn�t connect.I reset the router and connected to the wifi on my iphone which worked fine, I checked the DNS numbers were the same as on my iphone which they were and I had not changed any settings. I spent the entire day yesterday online looking for solutions, I�ve reset the adapter, disabled it etc, set the ip and dns to automatic and back again etc etc.
When my wifi tries to connect to my home internet it takes a LONG time to identify and then identifies it either as an unidentified network and/or public. Even when I change it to home it changes it back to public or just doesn�t let me change it to home and says try again later.
Ps- I just tried disabling then re-enabling the protocol 6 on the wifi which isn�t working and it just said �in order to configure TCP/IP, you must install and enable a network adapter card. But then it just let me configure it and is still connected but with limited access and public network.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI had a problem on my Windows 7 desktop earlier this week - Windows crashed on startup. I managed to get round it by selecting the option to start windows at the last good point (sorry can't remember the exact wording). Windows is up and running, but I can't connect to the internet - although:
- My desktop icon (and TP-Link) both say I'm connected to the internet
- when I troubleshoot (from inside the control panel) - it says that there's not a problem
- when I select Internet options -> Connections -> set-up it replys with "You are already connected to the internet"?
But:
- when I start internet explorer - it pauses for a few seconds then crashes.
- when I start Chrome - any website gives me a error 137 (err_Name_resolution_failed).
- even itunes can't see the internet.
My laptop will connect perfectly fine to my home network, other private networks, and many public hotspots. But there seems to be an issue recently with a few local hotspots around town here (Starbucks, McDonalds). I can go to one Starbucks and connect perfectly fine, then drive right down the street to another and while I am connected, it says I have no internet access. I've been able to connect perfectly fine here before, but suddenly this problem has continued. I'm completely at a loss for what to do. I've rebooted, disabled and re-enabled the network card, tried to troubleshoot the problem (which results in no information). The darned thing shows me that I am connected with terrific signal strength, but no internet access.

Over there when she trys to browse the Internet using the hotels' WiFi she gets a message about certificates being expired. I assume this is the website's certificate. But she says no websites can be accessed.
