problem in making my laptop a virtual wi-fi hotspot using Virtual Router Manager.Earlier it worked perfectly, I successfully surfed the internet on my mobile phone with my laptop as a hotspot. Now, when I go to a website it says "service unavailable". I thought it was a problem with my phone but it works fine with other wi-fi spots. Is there any configuration I have to do in my laptop?
I want to use it to share my laptop Internet access with my Blackberry. I want to get more infos before I check it out.P.s My laptop is running Windows 7, and I intends to use Virtual Hotspot to share Internet access from my Windows 7 laotop to my Blackberry.
I cannot uninstall, repair, or install Virtual Router v0.9 Beta. Codeplex does not respond at all to the 1001 error, as I have seen from some posts over a year old. I would like to remove it, and I believe the error originated after a system restore.During Uninstall attemptError 1001. Exception occurred while initializing the installation:System.IO.FileNotFoundException:Could not load file or assembly 'file:///D:\Program Files (x86)\VirtualRouterService.exe' or one of its dependencies. The system cannot find the file specified.I hit ok, and then it says to close.During Repair attemptError 1001. The specified service already exists >>>> I then hit okay and this pops up:Error 1001. Could not find file 'D:\Program Files (x86)\Virtual Router\VirtualRouterClient.InstallState'. >>>I then hit close to exit.I imagine the solution to be to install it on another computer and copy the files onto my current via a flash drive?
How to turn your Windows 7 laptop into a wireless hotspot.I thought, "Hey, that's cool". So I did everything mentioed there to the letter. It worked, my laptop was able to create its own hotspot, which was well cool. I connected my tablet to the new wifi connection. It did work, but I had no internet connection.
I have Hp pavilion dv5 1002 au Laptop that has a wifi adapter but after having done all things i am unable to create a virtual wifi hotspot so that my other devices like my android phone and ipod can connect to the inernet wirelessly. The internet access on my pc is through usb mobile broadband dongle.
I've set up my internet-connected laptop (Acer Aspire One with Windows 7 Starter) as wifi hotspot. The hotspot works to the extent that it lets another computer connect, but it does not provide (pass through) the internet access I have (via 3G USB modem). While searching the net for useful information I came across the recent thread No internet connection after I turned my laptop into wifi hotspot, Following up on the two tutorials mentioned in that thread, Windows 7 Tip of the Week: Use Wireless Hosted Networking to Share An Internet Connection Wirelessly | FAQ/Tip content from Paul Thurrott's SuperSite for Windows and Windows 7 Hotspot: Share Wifi With Your Laptop, I noticed that on my laptop the important Share tab is missing that can be seen in the first image in the first tutorial and also in the first image in the section "Changing Adapter Settings" in the secodn tutorial.
I recently purchased a Lenovo Thinkpad Edge E520 Laptop with 8GB RAM & Windows 7 Home Premium on 20th August 2012..For the whole time I have the laptop turned on at the top left side of the laptop I can hear repetative scratching / clicking sounds, Can someone please help me with this as i'm worried if I should get it fixed as soon as possible!
My laptop has hardware support for Win 7 only, so I opted for VirtualBox & installed XP Mode as guest operating system. I loaded softwares meant for Win XP like Guitar FX Box 2.6. But I am unable to set it up properly. It does not seem to independently capture the mic/line in as host OS keeps on playing the input sound in the background. There are issued of unable to select WDM streaming (getting error opening input device). Can anyone shed some light on how I can use XP Mode in my Win 7 laptop to play my guitar/music editing software effectively?
My laptop isn't even a year old and it started freezing and making weird noise. At first it didn't happen much and only happened when I was watching movies now it happens on everything I do about 4 times a day. sometimes it goes back to normal but then other times I have to press the power button and turn it off. I checked the fan and the fan seems to be fine. And I don't have a virus I scan the computer once a week.
So today my laptop started to freeze ALOT and a error message saying windows is not reaping keeps coming. So I restart my laptop and then it does same thing again I press Ctrl alt del and then three Louis beeping noises come all the same length like beep beep beep?
I just rebooted and when it was on my desktop it froze and a windows error message came up saying windows is not responding and it Ives me two options 1.end windows or 2. Wait for it to respond I clicked 2 and it turned to a grey screen and after 15 mins it came back to life.
The problem is my laptop/notebook always making the "click" sound (the sound that like you open a folder in windows) although I am not doing anything. When I turn off my laptop today, then I opened my laptop for the next day it making the same problem. I don't know how it's happened. I am using windows 7.
I am using a Dell Inspiron 14 laptop. A few days ago, I noticed that my laptop has become incredibly slow (the system will hang sometimes, and continue as per normal after a while), and this coincided with my laptop beginning to make this weird, sharp beeping sound. At first I did not pay much attention to it, but later this was joined by several BSODs, and my laptop became even slower (games that usually did not lag was now hanging halfway through, and continuing as per normal after a lengthy period of 1 minute or so). I tried to find the origin of the noise, and I think it came from my Internal hard drive sector, and thus decided to open the sector up (in hindsight I probably should not have). After I replaced it, without doing much (just doing the usual IT-amateur stuff, wiping it and blowing it a few times), my situation has now worsened to the point that startup takes a much longer time, and finally now it hangs at the "Starting Windows" screen, but without the Windows 7 logo showing, and my screen later turns black.
I have a problem to install ''Windows Virtual PC '' on my laptop which is running with windows 7 professional 64 bit.You should know ''Windows XP Mode '' has been installed in the first and When the ''Windows Virtual PC '' is being installed an error message is represented as this '' The update is not applicable on your computer''!The downloaded file of Microsoft Website for Windows Virtual PC is "Windows6.1-KB958559-x64-RefreshPkg" It's size is 16.2 MB.
i have new laptop hp pavillion dv6t-6b00 notebook. i installed windows 7 ultimate on it. the touch pad has no scrol bar line on it. one of my friend told me that you can enable it from mouse properties. so i tried every thing there is no virtual scrolling button or if i go to personalize> mouse pointer> there is no gestures button .
use my laptop just fine down a 40 foot hall way and through a kitchen and 2 more rooms wirelessly(admitedly with a mediocre connection).
About 2 days ago it was giving me sporatic messages after a restart claiming my network settings did not match the ones saved on my laptop. The only change that was made was adding all but one roomates devices to an access list on the router (since the jerk wouldnt shut off bit torrent while people were working). Some other people were noticing some screwy occurances too but dont recall the symtoms so I just set it back to factory default and removed the access list. Everyone else seemed to be fine
Yesterday I cannot see the router on my laptop, I cannot see my neighbors (sporaticly I usually would see 1 bar pop up but now I can't find it at all) I can pick up my router wirelessly only when I have direct line of sight to the router and only 4/5 bars 0,o , so that rules out a lot of choices in its self since it sees it, just not very well.

I upgraded to Windows 7, but I have a few software I installed on Virtual PC 2007 before. I use XP mode but can't find a way to use the virtual HD created with Virtual PC 2007. Is there a way to convert the virtual HD so that XP mode can recognize?

I am having trouble connecting my girlfriends laptop to the internet using her Windows 7 laptop via a Dlink router with Virgin Media. The laptop previously had Windows Vista installed but I recently upgraded it to Windows 7. For about 2 weeks the laptop connected to the wireless router fine, but stopped working about 4 days ago for some unknown reason out of the blue.
We have tried various methods to fix it, including disabling the wireless network adapter and enabling it again, we have tried updating the driver for the adapter but we get a message saying that the driver currently installed is the latest driver. It also won't let me roll back to the previous driver as that option is faded out in the properties box.
I have took her laptop to my house today to try and connect it to my router (which is also with Virgin and is working fine on my computers at my house) and the laptop won't let me connect to the network and it keeps saying there are no network connections available. I understand that usually it displays a list of connections you can log on to, but the laptop is not finding any connections at all.
On Thursday we attempted to connect to the internet by plugging in the blue wire that came with the router and that works fine. It's just it will not connect wirelessly. What really baffles us with this problem is that it worked fine for a couple of weeks then suddenly stopped working. Could it be an update that was installed that has caused the problem perhaps?
I have also tried using System Restore but that hasn't fixed the problem either. The wireless adapter is called: Atheros AR5005G Wirelss Network Adapter.
What are my options for connecting a laptop wirelessly to a workstation that is connected to a wired LAN and has no router?Essentially, I want to add wireless connectivity to the workstation so that the laptop can connect to the wired LAN via the workstation.
I have a customer that has just installed a new Dlink N300 router and cable modem internet. He has both a desk top which is hardwired to the router and a laptop which is using the wireless. The desk top does not have any problem with a connection but when he buts the laptop in hibernation it can not find the wireless connection. The odd thing about it is that even though he can not find his own network he can see other networks around him. Any ideas out there on how to solve this issue. This is the second router that we have installed so I am guessing it is not defective equipment.
I have a laptop with Windows 7 installed, using USB 3G device connect though the Internet. The problem is I have 3 machines and a spare router that I want to share the Internet.
how to share the internet from a laptop through a router ?
i own a rental property with 2 apartments right next to each other. the front unit allows the back unit to use their wifi via their router but the back gets a very weak signal or sometimes none at all. the units as i mentioned are literally right next to each other & only separated by a wall. the apartments are not huge, i dont know how far away the router is exactly but it cant be far. the entire building is only 1300 square feet.
