Oct 12, 2012How to turn your Windows 7 laptop into a wireless hotspot.I thought, "Hey, that's cool". So I did everything mentioed there to the letter. It worked, my laptop was able to create its own hotspot, which was well cool. I connected my tablet to the new wifi connection. It did work, but I had no internet connection.

I am using Intel MyWifi Technology, and then tried using connectify, to no avail.

I don't know if this is due to dual booting or simply because HSS runs a virtual network adapter, but I'd like to get it to work properly.

Apr 23, 2012I have two Windows 7 PCs on my boat. Normally they are connected to the Internet via a 3G Wireless Router; they are therefore on the same Home network, so I can access the shared folders between them.
However, occasionally I connect at least one of them to a WiFi HotSpot, to save my monthly 3G download limit. Even if I connect both of them, I can't access the shared folders, as it would be foolish to designate a Public network as a Home network.
Is it possible to maintain a permanent BlueTooth network between them, regardless of what they are doing via WiFi?

Mar 7, 2012I used to have Hamachi and Hotspot Shield, weeks ago, 'till I shut down my computer and rebooted. I got a black screen after log-in. So, this happens whenever I do one of these actions, and restart/shut down system:>LMI Hamachi is installed >LMI Hamachi is uninstalled >Hotspot Shield is installed >Hotspot Shield is uninstalled And as stated, system is them shut down/rebooted, proceeding with black screen error.The only way I can sometimes fix this is by:>Going in safe mode, SAFE MODE IS ALWAYS ACCESSIBLE, and then going to various system restores, and then doing the "recommended system restore". Otherwise won't fix.Weird though, has never ever happened with anything else, just those both, which modify networking processes I think.So, I am facing a decision. I need Hamachi. What can I do to ensure no more black screens, while having my computer safe?What is wrong with my computer? Or is it UAC Settings? By the way, I run Avast! Free Antivirus and make weekly full scans, as well as a few pre-boot scans every month. I've NEVER had a virus.

Feb 8, 2012I have been using my home internet in my new place for a couple of weeks fine, yesterday morning when I tried it it had the limited access yellow triangle and wouldn�t connect.I reset the router and connected to the wifi on my iphone which worked fine, I checked the DNS numbers were the same as on my iphone which they were and I had not changed any settings. I spent the entire day yesterday online looking for solutions, I�ve reset the adapter, disabled it etc, set the ip and dns to automatic and back again etc etc.
When my wifi tries to connect to my home internet it takes a LONG time to identify and then identifies it either as an unidentified network and/or public. Even when I change it to home it changes it back to public or just doesn�t let me change it to home and says try again later.
Ps- I just tried disabling then re-enabling the protocol 6 on the wifi which isn�t working and it just said �in order to configure TCP/IP, you must install and enable a network adapter card. But then it just let me configure it and is still connected but with limited access and public network.

Feb 10, 2012I bought a D-Link 655 router and got 3 computers up on Ethernet and one laptop on wireless so the router works. I can't get my roommates laptop on the Internet. The last router was a D-Link 524 and work for her on wireless. The new router work on Ethernet but not wireless and now it won't even work on Ethernet anymore. 3 hours with D-Link support didn't help. So I plugged the blue ethernet cable directly into the laptop it took a while but finally connected but after a short while it went again even though it was still physically connected.My next step was to power down the router and the cable modem, still no joy.I went to PC world and they suggested installing any updates, which I did (apart from the IE9), still no joy.

Nov 6, 2012I'm not sure where my other post on this went to I'm going to write it again. I recently switched over to Xfinity internet and one of the laptops in the household is not connecting to it correctly. After deleting it from the router and adding it back, the new error message I receive from troubleshoot is "Your computer appears to be correctly configured, but the device or resource (Microsoft Home Page | Devices and Services) is not responding".
It worked just fine when I tried to connect it via the Ethernet cable. I have tried clearing the DNS cache as well. Here is my ipconfig /all for the laptop:

Dec 13, 2011Well my Laptop is a inspiron n5110, its pretty new. THe problem i am having started on and off, Out of nowhere it would say that my computer has lost internet connectivity in the little wireless strength bar icon, then it would gain connectivity a couple seconds or minutes later. out of the 4 people who live here it is only my laptop... but now my computer can't connect to the network at all wirelessly.. at the moment im all cramp up connected to the router by ethernet cable since this is the only way i can get on the internet. The weird thing is its only this connection, when i go home to my real house the wireless is flawless. im a college student who is renting a house with room mates.
