View 1 RepliesI have been using my home internet in my new place for a couple of weeks fine, yesterday morning when I tried it it had the limited access yellow triangle and wouldnt connect.I reset the router and connected to the wifi on my iphone which worked fine, I checked the DNS numbers were the same as on my iphone which they were and I had not changed any settings. I spent the entire day yesterday online looking for solutions, Ive reset the adapter, disabled it etc, set the ip and dns to automatic and back again etc etc.
When my wifi tries to connect to my home internet it takes a LONG time to identify and then identifies it either as an unidentified network and/or public. Even when I change it to home it changes it back to public or just doesnt let me change it to home and says try again later.
Ps- I just tried disabling then re-enabling the protocol 6 on the wifi which isnt working and it just said in order to configure TCP/IP, you must install and enable a network adapter card. But then it just let me configure it and is still connected but with limited access and public network.
Every time I turn on my pc which has Windows 7 Ultimate (6.1.7600 Build) I need to connect manually to my wireless network WLAN AutoConfig is set to Automatic and it is already started as well as all its dependecies......I have an Asus EEE PC 1000H which by default had windows xp, but I don't think that the upgrade done something bad to my pc, cause when i upgraded my pc was OK, now lately it happens Aaaa almost forgotten!! I choose "Automatically Connect" checkbox when I connect but nothing happens as well as when I put my pc to Sleep or Hibernate.... and everytime I need to manually connect and write my WPA2 password !!! Yes I Know that you 'd tell me "remove password" or "run in safe mode with networking" or "disable UAC" but i already done these and i'm the admin of the PC !! I already updated my Network's Driver through device manager many times...

View 2 Replies View RelatedWhenever I run the troubleshooter for performance issues it says one problem detected "this computer is setup to automatically run programs at startup"
And I only have 3 programs to run at start up my AV, audio driver, and some intel rapid storage program.
So I still have Windows 7 Ultimate Beta and going to buy Professional soon. But something weird is going on.
I have Thunderbird which checks all my email addresses at startup but it says "cannot connect" so i started to check out my wireless. My wireless says it has "limited access" to my network, says it is "not connected" and when I check the wireless status, it would say that it isn't connected to the IPv4 and IPv6, all while being connected for "00:01:30+"
Then after several minutes, it would just start identifying and connect to the network/internet real fast out of nowhere. My wireless is a Intel(R) PRO/Wireless 3945ABG network connection
Also, I have a VMware to run Ubuntu which bridges the internet to go online, if this helps. (I cannot uninstall since it took me 4 weeks to get it running)
My laptop does boot up when I press F2 to enter setup but in few seconds my laptop shut down automatically. I am using sony vaio model no. VPCEB46FG
Optional Information:
Computer OS: Windows 7 Home Premium (64-bit)
Every time i turn off my computer and turn it back on the connection says that it has networks available. But, since i have a long security key, it is very tedious to type it in every time i start up my computer.
View 7 Replies View RelatedWhen I first start my computer up every morning, my Laptop will automatically connect to my router, everything is fine. The problem I'm having is when I log my computer off, or put the computer into sleep mode. After logging back on to my laptop it won't connect back to the router. I always get the orange star sign over the signal bars.If I try to re-connect by clicking on the signal bars in the bottom right hand side of the screen it won't connect.

View 7 Replies View RelatedI'm encountering a very frustrating problem connecting to my office PC (which is Windows 7 Professional). No matter what client I use (Windows 7 built in remote desktop from a W7HP machine, Remote Desktop Client on Android, etc.) when I log on to the host machine it re-logs me on. Basically it seems to kill the previous log on session, logs it off, and then logs me in anew. This is really annoying. It closes all open apps and makes me reopen them. It takes much longer than a usual connection. I can't seem to find any reason for why this might happen, the only difference between this and the thousands of connections I've made over the years using RDP is that this is being done over our work VPN (A SonicWall VPN client). I don't see why that would make any difference but it's the only variable.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a Dell laptop running Win 7 Professional. There are two wireless networks that I regularly use. One is at work (a large university with a huge wireless setup) and one at home. Both networks are set to automatically connect on my computer. If I only use one of these networks for a period of time, I have no access problems. If I log off or shut down the computer, or whatever, when I come back the computer immediately connects to the network. However, if I go from one network to the other, I have to enter the access key the first time I try to use the "new" network. I have to select the network from the list of available networks, and when I do, the "automatically connect" box is visible and checked, but it has not automatically connected. It is as though enterning the key for one network removes the key for the other. This happens on other wireless networks also, such as the one at my son's house, so it is not just the two networks I use most often. Also, my old Vista laptop had no problem recognizing and connecting to any of these networks automatically.

I have toshiba satellite P205D-S7438?
I have two Windows 7 PCs on my boat. Normally they are connected to the Internet via a 3G Wireless Router; they are therefore on the same Home network, so I can access the shared folders between them.
However, occasionally I connect at least one of them to a WiFi HotSpot, to save my monthly 3G download limit. Even if I connect both of them, I can't access the shared folders, as it would be foolish to designate a Public network as a Home network.
Is it possible to maintain a permanent BlueTooth network between them, regardless of what they are doing via WiFi?

View 9 Replies View RelatedI stay at a remote location that requires me to have a 25' usb antenna with an external internet adapter to receive a signal (from across a lake) to my laptop. What I was wondering is if I can plug in a second USB antenna which would hopefully generate a wifi hotspot (from the same laptop) for my 11 year old to use her Ipad or even a second laptop that doesn't have the fancy antenna. I've played with the adhoc network ability in Windows 7 but all info I can find assumes that the primary connection is from a wired source.

I run HotSpot Shield because my college has a network security that logs your activity (Sonicwall), and I find it to be a little too invading on my privacy. However, I find that HSS keeps causing BSODs while waking from hibernate (whether I'm running 7 or 8). I don't know if this is due to dual booting or simply because HSS runs a virtual network adapter, but I'd like to get it to work properly.
