i got 2 samsung galaxy devices and i can use one of them to act like a wi-fi router with the internet connection from my pc, my question is, how do i do it? i installed virtual router manager and it doesnt work
I've been trying to setup my own personal hotspot wifi, but it seems the internet connection is always limited and it always displays the "URL is not found on this server" page.
I am using Intel MyWifi Technology, and then tried using connectify, to no avail. I did an Intel PROSet Wireless manual diagnostic to found it failing at the association test.
I can connect to the wifi hotspot, but just have no access to the internet.
How to turn your Windows 7 laptop into a wireless hotspot.I thought, "Hey, that's cool". So I did everything mentioed there to the letter. It worked, my laptop was able to create its own hotspot, which was well cool. I connected my tablet to the new wifi connection. It did work, but I had no internet connection.
i have installed windows 7 on Hp dv 6000 SERIES...originally it had Vista. now i want to make wifi hotspot to get internet on my cell phone via laptop....but software like " Connectify and Maryfi" show a wireless cadr error..
I have Hp pavilion dv5 1002 au Laptop that has a wifi adapter but after having done all things i am unable to create a virtual wifi hotspot so that my other devices like my android phone and ipod can connect to the inernet wirelessly. The internet access on my pc is through usb mobile broadband dongle.
I've set up my internet-connected laptop (Acer Aspire One with Windows 7 Starter) as wifi hotspot. The hotspot works to the extent that it lets another computer connect, but it does not provide (pass through) the internet access I have (via 3G USB modem). While searching the net for useful information I came across the recent thread No internet connection after I turned my laptop into wifi hotspot, Following up on the two tutorials mentioned in that thread, Windows 7 Tip of the Week: Use Wireless Hosted Networking to Share An Internet Connection Wirelessly | FAQ/Tip content from Paul Thurrott's SuperSite for Windows and Windows 7 Hotspot: Share Wifi With Your Laptop, I noticed that on my laptop the important Share tab is missing that can be seen in the first image in the first tutorial and also in the first image in the section "Changing Adapter Settings" in the secodn tutorial.
I want to use it to share my laptop Internet access with my Blackberry. I want to get more infos before I check it out.P.s My laptop is running Windows 7, and I intends to use Virtual Hotspot to share Internet access from my Windows 7 laotop to my Blackberry.
I have been using my home internet in my new place for a couple of weeks fine, yesterday morning when I tried it it had the limited access yellow triangle and wouldnt connect.I reset the router and connected to the wifi on my iphone which worked fine, I checked the DNS numbers were the same as on my iphone which they were and I had not changed any settings. I spent the entire day yesterday online looking for solutions, Ive reset the adapter, disabled it etc, set the ip and dns to automatic and back again etc etc. When my wifi tries to connect to my home internet it takes a LONG time to identify and then identifies it either as an unidentified network and/or public. Even when I change it to home it changes it back to public or just doesnt let me change it to home and says try again later.
Ps- I just tried disabling then re-enabling the protocol 6 on the wifi which isnt working and it just said in order to configure TCP/IP, you must install and enable a network adapter card. But then it just let me configure it and is still connected but with limited access and public network.
i bought a 2007 model hp nc6220 with windows 7. I have been unable to turn on my wifi. I've tried everything. nothing works. The wifi button, fn and f2 buttons, nothing. No lights, no nothing. My wireless connection to my printer works. Can't connect to my router.
Don't know what happened, wifi was always on -- my lan went off, so I put on, my hot spot on my cell phone, and noticed my wifi has an orange light, and messages say my wifi is off. I cannot get it to turn back on.
My adapter is always gone from resuming from sleep. I know it was working before. Just changed my ram and bios settings from a fresh build. Went from Corsair xms3 to G.Skill Ripjaws.
I am having this same issue with my newly built pc. The drive running Windows 7 is from a laptop where the mobo died. I am using it in AHCI mode because my case has a front hot swap caddy.
I have a Gigabyte Z68X-UD3H-B3 mobo and after installing and uninstalling drivers, software, changing settings, removing ram, changing power options to maximum power for pci card and wifi, turning off hibernate, restarted, rebooted, updated all drivers from Gigabyte, chipset drivers, etc. I have unchecked "allow Windows to turn off this device". Restarted and tested and I get the same issue. I have unchecked this box in all of my networking devices too including, 802.11n Wireless Lan Card #2 and Microsoft Virtual Wifi Miniport Adapter. Also, uninstalled and reinstalled these and updated drivers from my disc that came from Gigabyte as well as driver update from the Gigabyte website.
Nothing I do will turn on my wifi card after sleep. Windows will not see a network adapter. Everything works fine after restarting though. I have S3 enabled in bios as that is what I want. I have case fans that I don't want to hear with no option to turn them off. Otherwise, i'd be fine with S1.
Is this just not a working feature? I've read that sleep is an ongoing issue with Windows, but my pc sleeps fine. I just want to be able to put my pc to S3 sleep and resume with a working wifi card. There must be a key setting i'm missing because i'm sure it was working with my last set of ram.
I stay at a remote location that requires me to have a 25' usb antenna with an external internet adapter to receive a signal (from across a lake) to my laptop. What I was wondering is if I can plug in a second USB antenna which would hopefully generate a wifi hotspot (from the same laptop) for my 11 year old to use her Ipad or even a second laptop that doesn't have the fancy antenna. I've played with the adhoc network ability in Windows 7 but all info I can find assumes that the primary connection is from a wired source.
Is there an app, or setting, I can use to hotspot a corner to disable sleep?I sometimes have things I need to run/download overnight, and the apps aren't preventing Windows 7 from sleeping. So I need to do it manually, preferably without going thru the route of manually altering the power settings.
Any way to speed up how fast Windows 7 home premium connects to my hotspot?Seems to take forever every time I connect. The blue circle just rotates for a couple minutes then it connects. What's the delay?
I have Win 7 Starter on an Akoya/Median Netbook and I can't get the system to accept my iPhone as an internet 'Hotspot' either in Bluetooth, or with the USB cable.
I have Vista and XP on other machines and it was relatively easy to setup.
I run HotSpot Shield because my college has a network security that logs your activity (Sonicwall), and I find it to be a little too invading on my privacy. However, I find that HSS keeps causing BSODs while waking from hibernate (whether I'm running 7 or 8). I don't know if this is due to dual booting or simply because HSS runs a virtual network adapter, but I'd like to get it to work properly.
I have two Windows 7 PCs on my boat. Normally they are connected to the Internet via a 3G Wireless Router; they are therefore on the same Home network, so I can access the shared folders between them.
However, occasionally I connect at least one of them to a WiFi HotSpot, to save my monthly 3G download limit. Even if I connect both of them, I can't access the shared folders, as it would be foolish to designate a Public network as a Home network.
Is it possible to maintain a permanent BlueTooth network between them, regardless of what they are doing via WiFi?
problem in making my laptop a virtual wi-fi hotspot using Virtual Router Manager.Earlier it worked perfectly, I successfully surfed the internet on my mobile phone with my laptop as a hotspot. Now, when I go to a website it says "service unavailable". I thought it was a problem with my phone but it works fine with other wi-fi spots. Is there any configuration I have to do in my laptop?
I used to have Hamachi and Hotspot Shield, weeks ago, 'till I shut down my computer and rebooted. I got a black screen after log-in. So, this happens whenever I do one of these actions, and restart/shut down system:>LMI Hamachi is installed >LMI Hamachi is uninstalled >Hotspot Shield is installed >Hotspot Shield is uninstalled And as stated, system is them shut down/rebooted, proceeding with black screen error. The only way I can sometimes fix this is by:>Going in safe mode, SAFE MODE IS ALWAYS ACCESSIBLE, and then going to various system restores, and then doing the "recommended system restore". Otherwise won't fix.Weird though, has never ever happened with anything else, just those both, which modify networking processes I think. So, I am facing a decision. I need Hamachi. What can I do to ensure no more black screens, while having my computer safe? What is wrong with my computer? Or is it UAC Settings? By the way, I run Avast! Free Antivirus and make weekly full scans, as well as a few pre-boot scans every month. I've NEVER had a virus.
I installed all the drivers available from the Gigabyte website for some reason the wifi function simply does not work. Also, the screen plugged into the 7950 works fine but the other screen connected into the motherboard gets the message "no signal detected".
I have - A Laptop with Windows 7 UltimateA Linksys Wireless Router with ports which are all Ethernet ports (i.e. no USB ports).A Tata Photon Plus (which is basically a Wireless USB Modem)I have been trying to setup a wireless network to have my handheld devices connect to the internet.I have - Connected the Ethernet port of my laptop to one of the Ethernet Ports of my Wireless Router.I have connected my Wireless USB Modem to my laptop (as my Router does not have a USM port). My Questions While I have been able to setup the Wireless Network, the Network shows "No Internet Access". Can someone help me with how to bring in Internet to the Wireless Network? I am sorry but I don't have enough networking acumen which would enable me to do this without assistance.
i have a samsung galaxy ace. my laptop is accessing internet through wifi from my friend's building. So can i access internet in my samsung galaxy through wifi from my laptop? if yes..how?
