View 1 RepliesI cannot uninstall, repair, or install Virtual Router v0.9 Beta. Codeplex does not respond at all to the 1001 error, as I have seen from some posts over a year old. I would like to remove it, and I believe the error originated after a system restore.During Uninstall attemptError 1001. Exception occurred while initializing the installation:System.IO.FileNotFoundException:Could not load file or assembly 'file:///D:\Program Files (x86)\VirtualRouterService.exe' or one of its dependencies. The system cannot find the file specified.I hit ok, and then it says to close.During Repair attemptError 1001. The specified service already exists >>>> I then hit okay and this pops up:Error 1001. Could not find file 'D:\Program Files (x86)\Virtual Router\VirtualRouterClient.InstallState'. >>>I then hit close to exit.I imagine the solution to be to install it on another computer and copy the files onto my current via a flash drive?

View 5 Replies View Relatedproblem in making my laptop a virtual wi-fi hotspot using Virtual Router Manager.Earlier it worked perfectly, I successfully surfed the internet on my mobile phone with my laptop as a hotspot. Now, when I go to a website it says "service unavailable". I thought it was a problem with my phone but it works fine with other wi-fi spots. Is there any configuration I have to do in my laptop?

View 1 Replies View RelatedAs I'm sure many of you already know, older Windows versions 95/98/XP had a way of soft-rebooting Windows; it essentially allowed you to reboot the system without actually turning the machine off.
In the older versions, I believe you just held the shift button down after clicking Restart until it rebooted back to desktop without turning the mechanical parts off completely.
Does Win7 have a function like this? Or does there exist at least some kind of workaround for all the reboots required during software install/Uninstall?
I can't get Shrew to work with my RV042 in Windows 7 (64-bit). All computers are using Windows 7 Professional. Here's the rest:
Shrew Version 2.1.5
Firmware 1.3.12.19-tm
Firewall disabled
Multicast Pass Through enabled
IKE with preshared key
VPN Pass Through enabled
Shrew hangs on "bringing up tunnel," right after preshared key configured. The debug log states that IKE packet gets sent with no response, and negotiation times out.
I just did some upgrades to my pc. Here are the current specs:
Motherboard: Crosshair V
CPU: AMD FX 6100
GPU: eVGA GTX 680 HC
RAM: 4x4GB Ballistix Tactical Tracer
PSU: Corsair 750Watt
OS: Windows 7 x64 Clean Install
HD: WDC-WD2500KS-00MJB0
Like it says above, this is a clean install. I have tested the RAM with Memtest86+ for 8 hours and found no errors. I have tested the HD with Seatools and found no errors. I have run Prime95 for hours without errors. I water cool my CPU and GPU and temps max at 37C.The OS constantly hangs, freezes, or whatever its called NONSTOP. Most of the time I'm able to move the mouse but can't DO anything with it. Eventually (within minutes) it comes back to life and does everything I'd been trying to do while it was frozen. I don't get much time inbetween freezes (a minute max between freezes). I've reinstalled the OS several times and no joy. At first I thought it was a bad motherboard, so I RMA'd it and it is still having the same issue. These freezes began happening well before video drivers were even installed (or any other drivers for that matter). It even does the same thing in SAFE MODE.from the EVENT VIEWER:
In the last hour: 19 Service Control Manager Error 7001
In the last hour: 44 amd_sata Warning 129 (this one always comes in pairs and always 30 seconds apart)
In the last hour: 169 Service Control Manager Information 7036

View 6 Replies View RelatedI would like to know if Shrewsoft VPN Client can be installed on Windows 7 (32 Bit) with Checkpoint & Cisco Clients already installed. I have both Checkpoint & Cisco Clients installed on Windows 7, with the respective services set to manual, and both clients are co-existing without any problem. Since I also support Juniper SSG boxes, and since Juniper has NOT YET come out with a client which supports Windows 7, I was wondering if I can use Shrewsoft client instead (which is reported to work fine with Juniper SSG).
Previously I had Vista on which all the 3 - namely Checkpoint, Cisco & Juniper (SafeNet) clients were working beautifully. But Vista being Vista, I had no choice but to upgrade to Windows 7.

View 2 Replies View RelatedGot a new Windows 7 Enterprise 64 bit machine, found that it did not come with virtual PC. Downloaded the critical patch Windows6.1-KB958559-x64-RefreshPkg.msu and installed it. Windows Virtual PC shows up in my Start Menu. Good so far. I go through the steps to create a virtual machine and use the option to 'use an existing vhd file' and when I click 'Create' I get the above pop-up message "Cannot attach the virtual hard disk to the virtual machine. Check values and try again". A factual message but completely useless as with all error messages from Microsoft. I have tried the following:1. When I attach that vhd using Disk Management, it mounts in drive E:, I can see the files and browse the dirs in E:. In the Disk Management View, the drive shows up as 127 Gigs but 107 is unallocated space. The physical size of the vhd is only 25 Gigs2. Others in my company were able to create the virtual machine with the same vhd, checked the byte size and timing, so nothing is wrong with the vhd file itself.
3. Tried to create after shutting down all virus protection including the Micorsoft antimalware protection service. No luck4. Tried Vhd resize to resize the vhd to a smaller size (since it showed up in disk management as 127 Gigs, I thought maybe it was that size), but VHDResizer could not open the input file, gave an errors "Can only load fixed or dynamic drives"
so i have a blue yeti, and i'm an online animator/voice actor. whenever i record audio on my blue yeti (or any other mic) i record about 4-6 inches from the mic, and turn the gain down enough that the audio doesn't peak as i yell or whatever. this is what you're supposed to do if you don't want your audio levels peaking and making your recording sound horrible and corrupted. however, afterwards, it means i have really quite recordings. not a problem right? now that it's recorded right, i can boost the volume of the entire clip afterwards right? wrong. i'm not an audio expert so i must be missing something. but why in gods name would the audio distort and peak after it's recorded successfully? it's all there, it's all clean audio. if i turn the volume on my speakers all the way up it sounds crystal clear! all i want to do is do that inside the computer so that when i upload it to Internet people don't have to turn their speakers so far up. but if i increase the clips volume in the computer, it distorts! it sounds awful! why?! i tried in sony acid and audacity and they both do the same thing! i can take sound effects, and recordings made by other producers and crank them up nice and loud, but mine just fall apart!
View 2 Replies View RelatedI am working with Windows 7 on a Dell Optiplex 755, but teh issue is with the System Volume setting. When I go to the audio mixer and do the test and configuration, the SoundMax audio level is loud and clear. The problem is with the Windows system settings somewhere, is there a limiter or cap setting in teh registry that I can set to maximum? I know that it is not the standard slide bars/levels but somewhere that Windows 7 Professional is cutting the volume on any Windows application. The drivers are fine, if I invoke the card directly it will blast the sound out. But in any application it is too soft.

View 1 Replies View RelatedOur office has an old program that we still need to use when upgrading our PC's to Windows 7. The program will run fine if you start a windows virtual PC and install and run it. However, based on the needs of our office, I need to be able to run Windows XP mode and simply have an icon for our users to click to take them to the application. If I install the program in windows XP mode, and then add a shortcut to the file under all users/start menu, a shortcut is placed in the appropriate place on the windows 7 machine and I can copy that shortcut ot the desktop. The program runs fine until you restart the computer. Once you restart the computer and double click the link on the windows 7 desktop to the program running in windows XP mode, it says:
Cannot start virtual application. The application is blocked from running as a virtual application.
I read some other posts saying to put a new shortcut in the all users/start menu folder. This works, but only until our users restart their computer. The next time the computer is up, the problem happens again. This is not an acceptable solution to have to create a new shortcut for each workstation each time the computer is restarted.
