Microsoft Virtual Wifi Miniport Adapter Not Working?
Jun 19, 2011
my above device is not working properly as per report .i had updated the divice driver ,tryied manuall install dell's driver but all are useless, its stil not working i think.
I used to see Wireless Connection 2 (Microsoft Virtual WiFi Miniport Adapter), but now it has disappeared.
I have tried netsh wlan set hostednetwork mode=allow ssid=<name of network> key=<password>. However, this hasn't brought back the connection in "Network Connections".
I'm trying to create a virtual wifi AP using the Microsoft Virtual Wifi Miniport Adapter and the netsh wlan command line context, but it's giving me a headache."netsh wlan show drivers" in the command line includes the output line "Hosted network supported: Yes" so my wireless card should be supported, correct? I can setup the hostednetwork fine with "netsh wlan set hostednetwork mode=allow ssid=blah key=blah" but when I try to start it with "netsh wlan start hostednetwork" I get the following output:"The hosted network couldn't be started. The group or resource is not in the correct state to perform the requested operation."My network adapter is a Rosewill RNX-N1 which contains a Ralink 2870 chipset (that chipset has been confirmed to support hostednetwork).
im having a problem with my wifi miniport adapter. its not working anymore. I tried reinstalling it but it doesnt work. i tried disabling it and enabling it but also not working
I am having problems with my wireless connection dropping. Sometimes it actually takes down the wireless router requiring it to be reset.. Win 7 64 home premium. I know the problem is with this laptop. I have tried 2 different routers and 2 different network adapters . It usually it kills the connection, but sometimes the whole wireless network. first thing I am looking at is my devices and I notice 2 Microsoft Virtual WIFi adapters. I uninstall one, and a few minutes later it is back. COuld this be part of the problem? Why are there 2? Do I need any? How can I get rid of one?
use Toshiba satellite A300. I had a virtual wifi connection o my pc. but its gone for a long. i tried lots of thing; updates, old version drivers, resetting connection with "netsh wlan set hostednetwork ..." cmd command. but i still had "no internet access" error on my virtual wifi connection.
I installed Build 7057, and my Dynex Enhanced Wireless-G USB Adapter (DX-EBUSB) won't work. The problem started with the device just ceasing to work after 5-10 minutes of use. I uninstalled and "reinstalled" the drivers, and there's still no luck.
The device can detect my Router, but it won't connect to it. I get the "limited access" popup. Something else to note is that during the driver installation, it gives a "Please plug in the device to a USB port" message, although it won't recognize the plugged-in device. Weird, eh?
This is weird, since I was able to DL the 64-bit driver for Vista/Windows 7 Build 7000, and it would work.
I have an Acer Aspire One Nav 50 with windows 7 starter 32 bit. I recently did something stupid and ended up having to completely re-install windows. The Wireless works sometimes but it usually is not working. It basically seems like it is turned off, it shows that there are no networks available even though there are. I have used Device Manager to update the drivers a few times. I also deleted the drivers and let them re-install like that. It is an Atheros AR5B93.The internal SD card doesn't work at all. When i put a card in nothing happens and it doesn't show up in "Computer". But When i have a card in it and go to device manager it shows up under "Other Device" (something like that) and the number UB6250. I've tried updating the drivers for every USB Device that shows up in device manager.Everything works ok except the wireless and the internal SD reader. I had no problems with them before the reinstall of windows. The normal USB ports work fine. Windows is at SP1.
I have a problem regarding my MICROSOFT ISATAP x422 and MICROSOFT TEREDO TUNNELING ADAPTER.going to device manager there is a yellow mark on MICROSOFT ISATAP x422 and MICROSOFT TEREDO TUNNELING ADAPTER icon and i was wondering what was wrong.
I need to add a virtual Network Adapter (Microsoft Loopback Adapter), but all I can do is to get to a "waiting for connected devices" dialogue... Is there any way to manually add some device in Windows 7?
Recently, Windowx XP Pro was installed on VMWare Workstation. It works great. Then, in virtual XP, I see an active Outlook Express.Since I started to use Windows 7, I missed reading newsgroups in Outlook Express with Win XP.I tried "news.microsoft.com" or "msnews.microsoft.com" as news server. It does not work: Unable to connect to the server.
how to setup this, i want to setup this to people that have access to my virtual wifi will have bandwidth limit in order not have all my internet bandwidth consumes and cannot have access to certain website (eg like Internet, facebook ,my adsl modem web configure page).
I want to use it to share my laptop Internet access with my Blackberry. I want to get more infos before I check it out.P.s My laptop is running Windows 7, and I intends to use Virtual Hotspot to share Internet access from my Windows 7 laotop to my Blackberry.
Windows 7 sees the adapter right off the bat names it right but does not install drivers for it.
So I tried to use some hacked buffalo drivers that lets me create a softAP and open the adapter up to all devices. -on XP sp2
Seems the drivers are not valid for vista 64bit / Windows 7
So I tried the latest drivers from Nintendo 1.7 and still no luck I try to run the software it says no drivers for my OS and I try to install it manually in DevMang.
I'm having this problem for last one week, after boot my computer just freezes. When I boot without USB Wifi Adapter the computer runs okay. I have 2 different Wifi Adapters, with both of them its the same problem I followed this thread [Solved] USB devices freeze computer - Gigabyte - Motherboards-Memory , and disabled usb legacy support. the computer ran fine with USB adapter after that (last night) but today morning again its freezing.Problem started with TP-Link wifi adapter, now i'm using Linksys Wifi Adapter
I am normally connected to the internet through a wired connection but the wireless adapter on my pc..is always on and searching. My concern is can someone snoop into my pc through the wireless adapter even if it is not connected to a network.
I'm using the Atheros AR5007 802.11b/g WiFi Adapter and the specs of this adapter say that I should get speeds up to 54 Mbps. I'm only getting to 16 Mbps even though the speed in the connection status says 54. I have used it with 2 different wifi routers (Linksys and Asus),with 2 different IPS and with both the actuall speed will not go over 16 Mbps. If i connect using a cable to those routers I get speeds way over 54 Mbps.
I have the latest Windows 7 x64 drivers from windows update. Does anyone have any ideea if there is anything wrong with my card or this is there a way to speed it up ?
My grandson is getting ready to enter his senior year of high school. They have been given the Aspire 3830-T TimelineX with Windows 7 Professional installed on it.
He is not supposed to download any programs on this notebook, but he did. So, he went into the control panel and uninstalled some things. Included in this was something called Babylon and also his Atheros wifi adapter. He has tried system restore and it will not work at all.
I went to look at the system recovery and it doesn't go back to the date he did this, nor before. So, I don't know how to reinstall this for him and get him back onto wireless.
