View 2 Replies View RelatedI used to see Wireless Connection 2 (Microsoft Virtual WiFi Miniport Adapter), but now it has disappeared.
I have tried netsh wlan set hostednetwork mode=allow ssid=<name of network> key=<password>. However, this hasn't brought back the connection in "Network Connections".
I am having problems with my wireless connection dropping. Sometimes it actually takes down the wireless router requiring it to be reset.. Win 7 64 home premium. I know the problem is with this laptop. I have tried 2 different routers and 2 different network adapters . It usually it kills the connection, but sometimes the whole wireless network. first thing I am looking at is my devices and I notice 2 Microsoft Virtual WIFi adapters. I uninstall one, and a few minutes later it is back. COuld this be part of the problem? Why are there 2? Do I need any? How can I get rid of one?

View 7 Replies View RelatedI'm trying to create a virtual wifi AP using the Microsoft Virtual Wifi Miniport Adapter and the netsh wlan command line context, but it's giving me a headache."netsh wlan show drivers" in the command line includes the output line "Hosted network supported: Yes" so my wireless card should be supported, correct? I can setup the hostednetwork fine with "netsh wlan set hostednetwork mode=allow ssid=blah key=blah" but when I try to start it with "netsh wlan start hostednetwork" I get the following output:"The hosted network couldn't be started. The group or resource is not in the correct state to perform the requested operation."My network adapter is a Rosewill RNX-N1 which contains a Ralink 2870 chipset (that chipset has been confirmed to support hostednetwork).

View 1 Replies View RelatedI recently had much trouble with my computer and was reinstalling OS many times! XP and windows 7. When I was installing windows 7 there were 3 virtual drives one about 400 mb named windows reserved and 2 others each (300gb) the 3d one was backup. I formatted first 2 deleted partitions, made 1 partition formatted again and then installed windows. The 3d virtual hard drive backup disappeared with all my stuff. Now I just have Local disc C: which is 300 gb and nothing else. So I am missing 300gb virtual hard drive with my stuff, where did it go?

I try to forward a port to my Virtual Windows XP. I have done that with VirtualBox in NAT mode, it was working well (using the VirtualBox service).
Now with the Virtual Windows XP, I didn't find anything to make the port forward working in NAT mode. So I tried the Microsoft loopback adapter. I installed it manually in the device manager, and I told Virtual XP to use this adapter.
After that, I saw it doesn't work at all, no IP, no connection. So I searched a little more and found this: Virtual PC Guy's WebLog : Configuring NAT via using the Microsoft Loopback Adapter and Internet Connection Sharing
It tells to share the internet with the loopback using the 'real' network adapter. I have done that but I still don't have any connection.
I would like to have Bluetooth operational on Win7 64bit, I bought this Belkin adapter , "mini bluetooth adapter" , after installing the software , I cannot get any bluetooth devices recognized , and one time explorer crashed .

View 5 Replies View RelatedI tried to find some folders and files a few days ago, and found that the folders had completely disappeared from my computer. I thought that perhaps I had accidentally deleted them, so I used recuvar to try and retieve them but they were nowhere to be seen. I am sure that I didn't delete them, and if I had they would have shown up on the recuver deep scan, but they didn't. I then thought they could have been deleted by a virus, but when I did a scan I only found a tracking cookie- that's the only things I found.

Any idea?
I am using the Belkin FD7050 v3 USB adapter. I was having all kinds of problems getting 7 to recognize it and find a network.
I got it work by installing Vista x64, running all windows updates and installing the adapter, then doing an in-place upgrade.
Everything was working great, no wireless problems at all. Then I unplugged the adapter and plugged it back in to a different USB port. Win 7 recognized the adapter right away and installed drivers, but it can't see any networks. Very similar to the first time I installed 7 before upgrading from Vista.
I have since tried uninstalling/re-installing. Letting Win 7 find drivers, manually installing the FD7050 v3 drivers from Belkin. Tried installing the Belkin drivers in XP compatibility mode and Vista Compatibility mode. Nothing works.
I'm trying to not have to completely reinstall Vista x64 and then upgrade to 7 x64 again. Any ideas?
im having a problem with my wifi miniport adapter. its not working anymore. I tried reinstalling it but it doesnt work. i tried disabling it and enabling it but also not working
View 4 Replies View Relatedhow I can get to this dialogue in Windows 7?
I need to add a virtual Network Adapter (Microsoft Loopback Adapter), but all I can do is to get to a "waiting for connected devices" dialogue... Is there any way to manually add some device in Windows 7?
Not a real problem but just wanna know how this is possible. I have 3-usb ports and they are all working when attaching mouse or usb stick or external usb harddrive and they are all usb2.0 ports.
I bought a sweex wifi usb adapter, plugged it in usb port and I heard ... ding dong... after 1 second ding dong etc etc. So it sees something and a second later it doesn't. It ended up with "unkown device" in device manager. and device manager refreshes all the time just as if it's plugged in and out all the time. So I went back to store and there it's working fine.
I tried 2 of the 3 usb ports end there's the same problem. But when I plug in in 3rd usb port there isn't a problem at all!! It finds drivers automatically from windows update and wifi works. But if I plug it in another usb-port it just doesn't work
I need help port forwarding my minecraft server via wifi. I have all permisions to setup but after all the threads and programs I have tried, nothing works. I get exception Failed to Bind to port perhaps another server is already running on this port.

How to Install Windows 7 on Microsoft Virtual PC 2007?
View 2 Replies View RelatedSo for several days ive been trying to get a wireless adapter to work on my esktop(windows 7 home premium 64bit). After a D-link xtreme N failed to function, I traded it in for a Linksys AE2500.Both devices failed to install correctly because they could not be detected by the install setup. Manually installing drivers would not work, errors would come up.The AE2500 would be detected when plugged in, then fail to install properly, then refuse any manual drivers. In the device manager it would be error 10, unable to start. It finally worked by a chance of luck, when I uninstalled the ports in my USB list.
So basically it will only function if I have the Enhanced USB ports uninstalled or disabled(it also has to be plugged in at the time of uninstall/disable). Doing so will cause it to automatically install its drivers and start working(it will then immediatly nag, that the USB port isnt 2.0 high-speed and claim that its not functioning at full speed). However, as soon as i reboot the machine, or run an update, or scan for hardware, the Enhanced USB ports reinstall themselves and the Wireless Adapter gets booted back to error 10
I ran it and when I hit Configure/View Comodo told me that it was trying to have full access of my keyboard. Is this a Trojan?
