How to change the speed of Microsoft Loopback Adapter on Windows 7? It comes up as 10MBPS instead of 100 of 1000
Am in need to add MS loopback adapter.
Never did it before in Vista, but in XP I was supposed to use the "Add Hardware Wizard" in Control panel.
In Windows 7, I beleive I have to go into "Devices and Printers" and click on add device, but it dosent work. It keeps searching for devices and nothing ever comes up!
So, if anyone knows how to install it in 7, please help me out!
I bought an LG NAS a few days ago and have been setting it up yesterday and today. I have it working perfectly on an old laptop which I was testing with however I am unable to get it working on what is our main laptop for traveling. The NAS itself is fine but it seems to be a Windows issue with the other laptop.
There is a feature which is an installable app called Remote Network Drive which lets you view the NAS folders from a remote location through Windows Explorer as if you were using it locally. This works fine on one laptop but then the app tries to run on the newer laptop I get a "Can't create loop-back device" message and it fails. It uses the loop-back adapter somehow to map to the remote storage.
I have done the following
Initially I tried a re-install which didn't work. Then I went and installed Microsoft Loop-back Adapter manually and then reinstalled the app again but no good either.
I compared it to the laptop which is working fine and the only difference I can see is that the working Windows version is 32bit and the non working version is 64bit. Also while the properties of the Loop-back adapter in the device manager are identical, the version is the exact same, the laptop which is working has renamed the adapter from "Microsoft Loop-back Adapter" to "Remote Network Drive Adapter#0"
I'm not sure if that actually matters but that's the only difference I can see.
I need the adapter so I can play the games that my GhostOne bot hosts in Warcraft 3.Tried deactivating the firewall.

I have tried netsh wlan set hostednetwork mode=allow ssid=<name of network> key=<password>. However, this hasn't brought back the connection in "Network Connections".
So yesterday in the early AM's I was browsing my internet and all the sudden, bam.i lost my internet.No reason at all, it just happened. This is only my computer, everything else works fine (If internet is out, our TV's don't work)When I go to my little internet icon in the taskbar, it says Unidentified Network and I have no internet access what so ever.When I run CMD and use ipconfig /release I get this:"An error occurred while releasing interface Loopback Pseudo-Interface 1 : The system cannot find the file specified."I also got this error before:"An error occurred while releasing interface Local Area Connection : An address has not yet been associated with the network endpoint." Tech support kept telling me to use ipconfig /flushdns but whenever I entered it into CMD it gave me an error saying something along the lines of "command unrecognized" I cannot give you guys the full text of what CMD says since it's on a different computer.I am using a direct ethernet cord, not wireless.
* ipconfig /release and /renew and /flushdns
* Turn off firewall
* Update and Reinstall Driver
* Restarting my modem/router
* Restarting my computer
* Unplugging my ethernet cord and replugging it (also leaving it unplugged over-night)
* Manually assigning the 12 code I'm assuming IP
I am taking an online college course. When answering questions we were advised to first type our answers into micrsoft word and then copy and paste into the website.The school website only has basic spell check that is the reason for copy and pasting.I have Word 2010 and Windows 7.

I bought a new MEDION AKOYA P5334E and the system arrived installed normally with Windows 7 home edition.
I've installed on the computer the Windows 7 enterprise edition (x64) and many drivers could not be find. I've installed nost of them, except the display adapter. It's stuck on "standard vga graphic adapter". I have the AMD Radeon HD7570 card but no matter what I try is not working! tried to uninstall the current driver, tried to download the driver from the AMD website (when executing it - it's running but does nothing). when executed the auto detect from AMD website, I got the message "we were unable to find your product or OS"

Is there a driver that I need to install? The adapter itself came with nothing...
trying to find a working driver for it on windows 7. My little 3 year old loving beast snapped my cd in half and i don't know where i got the product from. on the adapter it says 4-ch usb dvr.
View 7 Replies View RelatedI just installed Windows 7 RC1 32-bit OS onto my laptop. Without thinking i needed any drivers, i went to play World of Warcraft. It told me that it could not locate a display device and wouldn't work. I figured i needed to install my grpahics card drivers for my Nvidia 9 series card. When i went to install the drivers, an error message appeared saying that it could not locate drivers compatible with my device.
I went to dxdiag and under display it shows that i have a standard vga adapter and won't recognize my actual graphics card. I'm not sure if i'm missing drivers, i haven't installed anything else except for this attempt at installing the nvidia driver.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI stay at a remote location that requires me to have a 25' usb antenna with an external internet adapter to receive a signal (from across a lake) to my laptop. What I was wondering is if I can plug in a second USB antenna which would hopefully generate a wifi hotspot (from the same laptop) for my 11 year old to use her Ipad or even a second laptop that doesn't have the fancy antenna. I've played with the adhoc network ability in Windows 7 but all info I can find assumes that the primary connection is from a wired source.
