[WiFi] Windows Did Not Receive Any Response From The Wireless Router
Jun 19, 2012
I have a D-Link DIR615 router which I've been using for the past 5 months (no problems whatsoever). After i've got my laptop from the support service I can't seem to successfully connect to my home network.
My phone can connect with no problem to my router. My laptop sees other wireless networks. This is how it goes: when I try to connect it immediately says "unable to connect" when I run the diagnostics I get the "windows did not receive any response from the wireless router" message. I can only connect after like 30 mins of changing the wireless settings (usually SSID and security) from my router + rebooting it countless times. Even then, I usually check "automatically connect" and the next day after I arrive from work, it doesn't really connect automatically and can't even connect to it (unable to connect message). Even typing a wrong passphrase when it's secured it doesn't say "wrong passphrase" but "unable to connect".
Another very wierd thing is that my wireless network disappears from the network list after a few minutes, I still see other secured wireless networks.
I can connect to a wireless network made by phone (wifi hotspot) with no problems.
Is there a way to setup your computer to connect only to a specific wireless router in your area? I live in a college dorm and there are a lot of wireless connects available so I'm thinking that there might be complications with my computer with all the information in the air.
Just bought this belkin router. Linked one computer through LAN and 4 devices through WIFI or some reason my WIFI devices are not able to read or detect connections to the LAN network
i just built a new Windows 7 Machine and i installed x64 bit for the first time and this is my main computer with a WRT54GL Router hooked up and i moved my old machine out to my living room, but when i try to connect to it wirelessley the x86 wont even see my network at all, i have SSID broadcast on, the only way it will see it is if i disable security and WPA2 then it shows up but as soon as i put the security back on it wont connect/see it at all. Can anyone help me i have no idea whats going on, my previous machine i had out in my living room was windows xp and it could connect to my x86 win 7 fine, but now i cannot get it to work, i even bought a new wireless usb adapter to try and it still wont see it unless i unencrypt it.
In a few days time I will be changing my ISP in the UK from Sky to BT.
BT are providing me with their newest wireless router free of charge as part of the deal and I'll be using that to set up my wireless network, which will consist of an HP Pavilion desktop, a Toshiba laptop, a Sony Vaio laptop, an HP wireless printer and a Samsung HDTV.
This means my Sky wireless router is surplus to requirements, so I was wondering if I could convert it to a wireless access point to improve the range of my BT wireless network.
I've read a couple of supposedly easy-to-understand articles on Google and have to say they left me more confused than ever.
my laptop cant receive or send information through wireless connection. any time i tried doin any of the above, it keep telling me i needed a peripheral driver.
Recently installed Windows 7 and I have been having some weird WIFI problems.when I connect to my edimax (BR6424N) router, I get very bad connections, with lots of timeouts mid page loading. its is very sporadic and inexplicable. the internet is fine when I connect with a cable and when I connect to the neighbors wifi. It is also fine when I connect my wife's computer to our wifi (she runs vista) and my android tablet is fine too.I scanned for viruses, changed the wifi password, cleared the cache, and the channel and I also used three different browsers as well as outlook and dropbox and they all have the same problems. If I recall i have a few days where it was fine before this started, I feel like it has to do with updates but that would be pretty weird.
I have a WiFi Router and I am able to get my laptop into it. Best Buy set it up. How can I get the proper ID to get my son's laptop on to my router. It is secured and I don't have a clue what to give him to get on?
I have both of these things and my recent internet still come up on my laptop, how can i connect or use my router to get wifi, need this for work asap.
I had analyzed the network near my house and found many networks working on channel 1,6,11.... my router supports channel 13 ... I changed it to 13 and tried to connect my laptop...but the problem it cannot find the router in the range...However i used another laptop and it found the router. how to configure my wireless card on that laptop to support channel 13... I have entered on the Wireless network adapter and cannot find anything related to "Channel " that i can change it.
I need help port forwarding my minecraft server via wifi. I have all permisions to setup but after all the threads and programs I have tried, nothing works. I get exception Failed to Bind to port perhaps another server is already running on this port.
On Windows XP my USB dongle would always share it's wifi connection with my home WRT-54G WiFi Router. It was simple and all it took was a little wizard to set it up and give my router an IP address from my computer. In windows 7 I cant find out how to do it.the internet sharing option doesn't work correctly. it's not giving my router an IP address.
I am having trouble connecting my girlfriends laptop to the internet using her Windows 7 laptop via a Dlink router with Virgin Media. The laptop previously had Windows Vista installed but I recently upgraded it to Windows 7. For about 2 weeks the laptop connected to the wireless router fine, but stopped working about 4 days ago for some unknown reason out of the blue.
We have tried various methods to fix it, including disabling the wireless network adapter and enabling it again, we have tried updating the driver for the adapter but we get a message saying that the driver currently installed is the latest driver. It also won't let me roll back to the previous driver as that option is faded out in the properties box.
I have took her laptop to my house today to try and connect it to my router (which is also with Virgin and is working fine on my computers at my house) and the laptop won't let me connect to the network and it keeps saying there are no network connections available. I understand that usually it displays a list of connections you can log on to, but the laptop is not finding any connections at all.
On Thursday we attempted to connect to the internet by plugging in the blue wire that came with the router and that works fine. It's just it will not connect wirelessly. What really baffles us with this problem is that it worked fine for a couple of weeks then suddenly stopped working. Could it be an update that was installed that has caused the problem perhaps?
I have also tried using System Restore but that hasn't fixed the problem either. The wireless adapter is called: Atheros AR5005G Wirelss Network Adapter.
I work as a software developer and have had a lot of experience with wireless networking. I have an old wireless router (unsecured at the moment) that I have connected to a modem, provided by Virgin media. When I use a cable to directly connect to the router, all seems fine, but when I attempt to connect wirelessly I am almost immediately presented with "Windows was unable to connect to [router name]". Other people in my house (on both XP and Vista) can connect to the router without any problems, implying that it is a setting within Windows 7. HOWEVER, I am able to connect to another (unsecured) wireless router. I guess this can only mean that there is a setting on the router that is preventing me from connecting...
I recently bought a new windows 7 laptop and tried to connect into my my router it did this successfully but it always now says no internet access when i have full bar wireless connection it only works if i am beside the router but if i walk away it doesnt work my other windows xp laptop works just fine even from 30ft away, my windows 7 laptop when troubleshooting the network that there is a problem with the wireless adapter or access point but its a new laptop i also bought a new home hub from bt because i thought that was the problem, it also says when troubleshooting that 'the connection between your access point, router, or cable modem and the internet is broken
My new Belkin Wireless G router crashes ALWAYS if I try to connect from my Windows 7 Laptop to my Windows XP (home edition) desktop.I try to connect wireless from my Laptop (Windows 7) to my shared printer and shared folders on my wired Windows XP desktop. While entering \192.168.2.3 in my IExplorer of the Windows 7 Laptop: (IP address of XP desktop) immidiately crashes the router and disconnects both computers from the internet. Only solution is to reboot the router.Have tested this various time, but always the same result. Both computers have the same WORKGROUP name.
Windows 7 laptop will connect to the wireless router but no internet access. The MAC in my house as well as the xbox both have internet via the wireless router. I just altered my internet by making it password protected and changed the name (SSID) Is this the problem?
My 80211n wireless adapter does not pick up my clear wireless router. My OS is windows 7. My router has to be connected by Ethernet cable then it is exceedingly slow. Best location for router is in attic.
