Startup Repair Info While "windows Is Loading Files"

May 12, 2012

I have an Acer Aspire 5750-6677. I3-2310m. It has been performing the startup repair for over a day. It's now, finally (I think), saying "windows is loading files". It has been doing this for HOURS! Can I simply turn it off and attempt a different method or will that make it worse? BTW: it came with zero discs of any kind when I purchased it new in July 2011. This is my work comp too and I can't lose the info that's on it.

Startup Repair Not Even Loading

Jan 10, 2013

So I opened my laptop this morning, tried to log in and was stuck on the welcome screen for about 10 minutes. I restarted using the power button and when restarting it said "loading files" then went to a black screen. I restarted again and it gave me the option to select a safe mode or startup normally. I selected safe mode and I was stuck on the startup bit with the windows logo for 10 minutes and then it went back to the selection screen this time with the options being startup repair and launch windows normally. I selected startup repair and it went to a black screen for 10 minutes, then went to a screen like the login screen background but grey. It wasn't frozen and I could still move the mouse so I could tell it was loading and I waited >20 minutes and it didn't change. I restarted and did the same thing multiple times.

Windows 7 On Dell XPS L401X Blue Screened, Startup Repair Not Loading?

May 24, 2012

I am trying to sell my Dell XPS L401X (XPS 14) that I bought in December of 2010 but I have encountered a serious problem with it. I loaded the computer from factory settings as it had blue screen and refused to start up without startup repair and dell datasafe backup or w/e that program is called. I loaded it up, installed Google Chrome, cleared my history on IE, downloaded MSE, the latest nvidia drivers and java 7 64 and deleted all those and emptied the recycle bin once done installing those. I shut down the computer to install updates and get a blue screen as soon as it passes the startup screen. Every time I attempt to launch using startup repair it just opens up another window with a black screen and the option of startup repair and normal repair, never actually going to startup repair, just continually refreshing every time I select startup repair.

Startup Repair - Windows Cannot Repair This Computer Automatically

May 11, 2011

I am pretty sure that a virus cause this, right before my computer shut down on it's own my anti virus popped up and said that a Trojan was found but I didn't have to do anything. Then the computer shut down and when it restartrd started to load files and then go into startup repair, only it couldn't fix it. I tried a restore, but again it said that the startup files wern't there. I just quickly scanned the diagnostic details and noticed something that said "boot critical file C:CI.dll is corrupt".

Windows 7 Randomly Crashes On Startup Or Requires System Repair On Startup

Windows 7 Won't Startup Properly - Stuck In Startup Repair Loop

Feb 18, 2012

I have a Dell Inspiron and a while ago I shut down my PC and the next morning I was faced with options to repair my computer. It hung on the screen for ages before it actually came up with startup repair and supposedly fixed the problem. A few days later, everything got very slow and started to freeze a lot and before long, booting the computer got very slow as well as it hung for about ten minutes on a black screen after the 'welcome' screen before finally starting up. I decided to reinstall the operating system (I did NOT reformat the C drive), so I borrowed my Grandma's external hard drive and copied my files. After reinstalling using a Dell Windows 7 64-bit Home Premium Re-Installation DVD, I copied and deleted the files off the external hard drive onto my PC (I didn't know it would create a Windows.old folder) and started installing programs. Then I left it overnight to install quite a big program. This morning, somehow it had turned off. I turned it on and it gave me the safe mode options and a 'start windows normally' option. I chose the latter and after typing my password it hung on the welcome screen again. I left it for ages and it just went back to the user login screen again. I pressed the red button in the corner to shut it down but it just hung once again on an empty screen so I did a hard shutdown (held down the power button). I turned it on again...startup repair. It gave me the option for system restore, which I did (then realising when it finished that I hadn't made a backup). I booted it, and again it wouldn't start properly. At this time, safe mode booted fine. After trying various things (even using a compressed air can to get rid of dust) and a few hard shutdowns, suddenly every option from the advanced boot menu took me to startup repair except 'Repair your Computer' which gave the normal options for repair (although now it only gives me 2, Startup Repair and DataSafe Restore and Emergency Backup. Now when I do startup repair, some times it says it has fixed the problem, and sometimes it says it cannot be fixed automatically and gives me information on the problem (a few things it said were: 'StartupRepairOffline', 'AutoFailover' and 'CorruptRegistry').

I can't reinstall my computer because then I would lose my precious files.

Is there some way I can save my files and reinstall or even just save my files somehow or am I screwed?

Windows 7 Nor Windows 7 Repair Disc Will Not Boot, Keep Getting 'startup Repair'

I have a Toshiba Satellite C655-S5132 that just shut down & now will not boot Windows 7. Just goes to black screen w/blinking cursor then goes to 'startup repair' (which I'm postiive this is a virus of somekind) & will not allow me to do anything. Just repeats itself. I downloaded Windows 7 repair to a CD-R, chgd BIOS settings to CD/DVD to boot first, saved changes, and will NOT pull/boot up from disc. I've tried 2diff repair discs, both do not work. 'F8' does not do anything for me, not able to get to 'safe mode'. Computer is only 2yrs old.

Windows Won't Startup, Startup Repair Can't Fix It

Aug 17, 2010

I hate it when this happens and so far, the startup repair has always been able to fix the problem. Today, I'm not so lucky.
I'm using my other built right now coz I have to work. I don't remember what updates I did last night but I do remember the dvd drive firmware was updated.I popped in the system restore disc, start it up and the same page appears: Start with windows start up or Start windows normally. Tried both and neither one of them would bring up system restore. This built was only a month old and was hardly used so far so no system restore point was created at this point. I have files in it that I would like to keep but I can't get to them right now so a clean fresh install is needed but I can't get it up.

Media Files Not Letting Me Edit Info

Sep 22, 2011

Recently my music files [it might be with other types of files too, I haven't checked] have somehow changed the security setting so that I can't do anything with them, I can't edit the info in iTunes and I can't delete the files. About the only thing I can do is move the file. I have figured out how to fix this problem one by one with each file (going into properties, security tab, and changing the permissions), however, I've only been able to do this one by one and with each new file the same problem persists. Is there any way I can change some sort of setting or something that allows me to have full control over all files? I am the sole user of the computer, therefore I am the administrator.

Nforce Drivers Not Loading When Attempting Repair?

Apr 12, 2010

Basically what happened is my vista drive died. This was the first drive with the MBR on the system. I had been using the Windows 7 raid (Nforce) for a while with no issues until the vista drive died in a fire. So my current problem are as follows:1.When I toss the Windows 7 DVD in the drive and attempt to load the NForce drivers for my system (needed for the repair procedure), I get failed to load drivers. Yes I have ensured to point the Windows repair utility to the correct files on the CD that came with the board (XFX 750i). They will attempt to load but just fail.So my question now is how do I get my RAID 0 setup to boot? There is no MBR on this disk. Is it possible to write the MBR to the disk once the drivers finally get loaded?

Finally, the Startup mode is over and I'm attempting to turn it back on ... and we're right back into Startup Repair.

Then I tried booting to Safe mode, and I saw that during the loading process there was no file shown as succesfully loaded. I might also know what could be the cause of this problem, because yesterday when I was shutting Win down, there was a blackout so obviusly some files are corrupted.

Windows 7 Startup Repair Fail

Aug 13, 2011

Usually I can resolve most issues myself but this one appears to have stumped me so I am graciously turning to you in my time of need.I am unable to boot Windows 7 on my Acer Ferrari One F0200 netbook. It has Windows 7 home premium 64-bit installed but due to an unknown problem or possibly persistent virus I have been unable to boot into windows.

below is a list of things i've tried up til now:

Tried to boot in all safe mode options (failed)
Tried to boot from last known good configuration(failed)
Tried to system restore from all available restore points (failed)
Tried multiple Startup Repairs(all failed)

"Startup Repair cannot repair this computer automatically"

Problem signature:
Problem event name: StartupRepairOffline
Problem signature 01 : 6.1.7600.16385
Problem signature 02 : 6.1.7600.16385
Problem signature 03 : unknown

[code]....

while writing this I managed to get a blue screen message(disabled the option to automatically restart on system failure) which had been flashing for a nano second previously.A problem has been detected and Windows has been shut down to prevent damage to your computer. it says to check for viruses on your computer remove any newly installed hard drives or hard drive controllers. check your hard drive to make sure it is properly configured and terminated. Run chkdsk /f to check for hard drive corruption, and then restart your computer.I had already ran the chkdsk /f before I saw this message and no files were corrupted/no bad sectors. So this is where I'm at, at my wits end hoping that I dont lose all my data.

Can't Boot Into Windows / Startup Repair Can't Fix

Jun 4, 2012

I've been having trouble trying to get my computer to boot; I'd noticed a drop in performance (still unsure why) so decided to boot up in safe mode and poke around - it was not my original intention to install AC 5.3.0 but somehow it happened. I ran the 'deep-care' utility and everything was working fine, my computer rebooted and performed a disk check: there weren't any errors that I can remember apart from [something along the lines of] 60 reparse files. Following this my computer restarted and Windows failed to load, restarting to show me startup repair - this isn't the first time this has happened, a similar thing occurred following previous attempts at boosting speed, though before I was able to get Windows up and running using an Ubuntu installation disk... still don't understand why - no need to say that it didn't work this time. Startup repair refuses to work and my system restore points have vanished; I would try doing a repair install if I had a copy of the disk. I built the computer myself a few months back, borrowing a Windows 7 installation disk from a friend (who has now conveniently lost said disk), startup repair does tell me something about 'Problem Signatures'. Windows update installed some security updates along with Service pack 1 and IE9. Now the computer will not load Windows. It goes straight to the startup repair but cannot fix the problem. There is not restore points other that when SP1 was installed and I gives an error every time I try to restore it. I can get to a command prompt and I have tried to run sfc /scannow but it tells me there is a system repair pending which requires a reboot and then does nothing. Windows 7 64bit Startup Repair

As of yesterday whenever I start the computer, it says "Windows Error Recovery - Windows failed to start. A recent hardware or software change might be the cause. If windows files have been damaged or configured incorrectly, startup repair can help diagnose and fix the problem. If power was interrupted during startup, choose start windows normally."it then gives me two choices: Launch Startup Repair (Recommended) or Start Windows Normally. When I launch startup repair im left with a black screen with no cursor. Ive tried just leaving it alone but after 5hours it stayed the same so I just gave up and just turned it off. When I start windows normally it tries to load up windows but after a few seconds Im brought back to the first screen with the same two choices.I have also tried running safe mode and last known good configuration. Both of them lead me back to the first screen with the two choices.

Windows 7 Startup Repair Hangs?

Jun 16, 2012

I have an Acer AX1301, and when it boots, the startup repair screen comes up.The startup repair loads files, and then, sometimes, I can select input, but then it just hangs on the blue splash screen with the bird.I have left it for up to 24 hours, but it never goes to the next step.Safe mode doesn't work, and I have tried doing the repair from a Windows 7 recovery disk. No good. The first time I used the disc, it got to the point where it was searching for Windows, but seemed to hang on that. Also, if I press Alt+F10, I can get to the Acer recovery, which has 2 options, one which will completely re-install everything and clear the drive, and another that will retain user data. If I do the user data one, what will I lose on the drive? I have my files backed up, but will I have to re-install my various programs and preferences, email settings, etc., or will all of that be retained?
