View 4 RepliesI'm not sure if this is a virus, but it happened after I restored my computer. All my folders in my Local Disk became "Read-Only", and from what I know its suppose to have a check mark instead of a square box.

Originally set up and installed MS Office, Adobe Reader, and a few other common programs. Installed VMware vSphere Client. Upon using VMWare vSphere Client for the first time, I first noticed the white/blank square in the upper right corner of my desktop. It has been there ever since, even when I have not used any applications after startup.
I'm attaching a snippet of the affected area of the desktop.

View 5 Replies View Relatedthis morning my computer had to go through startup repair but when my computer rebooted afterwards, everything was classic XP style. Ever since this morning I've been unable to change it back to my custom visual styles like Appows Nite and Leopard OSX. I've tried going through performance information and tools, but still no luck; it makes it look like regular Windows 7 aero style, but not my other installed themes.

In a previous thread someone stated that if you watch a lot of flash videos it will cause this issue. Is there anyway I can stop this from happening.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI am seeing small artifacts on the upper edge of the taskbar (using classic view, I could use Aero if I wanted to). I'm not convinced that this is actually browser related, it is just that since I have a browser up full time, that is what is leaving artifacts behind. If I resize the bar, IE drag it up a notch and back to normal again, the artifacts go away (basically a refresh..).

I am looking for some advice or suggestions on something that has bugged me on windows 7 since i started using it back when it was released.I have quite a large (almost 200 gig) music collection, and browsing for music to listen to has always been a bit of a chore.Wondering if any of you know of a way to go back to XP style album art folders like this:The one on the left looks so much nicer! It always made me think Microsoft had take a backwards step by doing away with the old folders!Oh and 1 other thing. When you try to group a folders contents by 'Name' does anyone know if there is a way of modding windows so that you can sort by: A,B,C,D etc etc, rather than the standard A-H > I-P > Q-Z ??

View 1 Replies View Relatedi'm building an htpc with xbmc on my windows 7 so i'm trying to customize the boot process. I changed successfully the boot logo (win 7 one) and the boot logon screen. The problem is that my tv supports only 1280x720 res and not the 1024x768 that needs the new windows 7 boot logo, so it automatically starts with the old windows vista boot logo. Can i customize that too in win 7? If i can how can i do it? It's the same of windows vista?

View 2 Replies View RelatedI am trying to create a new Bibliography/Citation style for Microsoft Word 2007. I am trying to mimic the ASCE style. For all practical purposes, it is exactly the same as the APA style; however there is to be no comma between the author's last name and publication year for in-text citations in ASCE format. For example, I want the in text citation to look like this (Suess 2011). But for APA, it writes it like this (Suess, 2011).
For the "Bibliography/Works Cited", APA and ASCE appear exactly the same, so no changes needed there. I thought I could take the APA file(s) in C:Program Files (x86)Microsoft OfficeOffice12BibliographyStyle and find out how to remove that one comma for in-text citation only, but the code is way to much for me. I'm not even sure if its the right way to get to what I'm looking for.
How do I change the font style & size in windows live mail,Permanently ? I'm using win 7 & had to format the drive, which lost my settings.
