View 4 Replies View RelatedI hate that the menu bar has been replaced by ribbons in Windows Live Mail. The only way I know how to change the font size of the messages in my Inbox home screen is to go to Tools > Options, which I cannot do because I don't know how to access the Tools menu without a menu bar.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI recently added started using AeroVG Windows 7 's transparent theme and I like it very much. But it changed something and I would like to change it back. A picture would describe it much better so here it is:These are menus that would appear when you right click on your pinned applications. What I would like to do is to remove the black "glow" outline of the font color.
View 1 Replies View RelatedThis all started whenever I wanted to change my text size different by changing my DPI settings. What I did was right click, go to screen resolution, and clicked on "Make text and other items larger or smaller". From this I changed it to 100% from 125%. I noticed it had changed my font size to the 100%. It then made everything SUPER small when I changed my theme settings.Whenever I right click and go into personalization settings, I do the usual customizing to my likings. Since I want to save the theme, I do so by naming it, blah. Now I want to use the blah theme by click on it, and I do so. Everything is fine and dandy until I right click my desktop to refresh(out of habit). This is the before and after of the font sizes.
Before
After
My workaround was to set a custom DPI setting, log off like it prompts me to, then changing it back to 100%, again prompting to do so. It is so annoying to do so.
How do I change the size of the font for my viewing and composing emails? I cannot tools/preferences to change these settings.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI have been experiencing problems with 'Windows Live Mail' so decided to migrate to 'Outlook'. I have managed to export/import accounts and messages. For some reason the export of contacts worked only as far as creating a CSV file though a few (say half a dozen) addresses did import OK.My main problem though is that despite my setting 'Outlook' as the default mail client 'Windows Live Mail' is still grabbing it all. I have been loathe to remove the accounts totally from WLM as I still cannot import my contacts fully I have a nasty feeling that the continued presences of 'WLM' may well be why I cannot get 'Outlook' to operate correctly though I can send mail from it.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have imported my Outlook Express files into Live Mail (from an XP machine to a laptop running windows 7) using the import function in Live Mail. When I look in the Storage Folders there are no files to view. In the Quick Views I am able to read and see unread emails from Outlook Express but not emails that I have read on my XP machine. To do the import I copied the files from the XP machine to a USB stick and then on the laptop browsed to find the files on the stick. The folder containing the OE files in not read only.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI've found that since recently starting with Win7 the font/point size in nearly every program I use is 'thin' or 'weak'. Even Firefox. It's all very pretty and neat and I can see it alright, but I'd like to be able to change it to suit me. No problem doing this in Word etc.I'm using a full-HD TV/monitor at full resolution. All I can see to do is change 'display image'. I note this can range from the default 125%>150>200.However, this brings up a window pointing out there may be problems encountered doing this. All I really want to do is change the font to BOLD as I've just done! Is that so difficult?I'm assuming that all the other programs are taking their cue from font settings within Win7. As a Win7 newbie, am I right in thinking this and is there any way I can easily change to the bold font I'd prefer? Or am I missing something basic here?

View 4 Replies View Related've got a problem getting offline folder permissions to stick after restarts in our domain. Here's what I do:Go to MC>shared folders>shares>C$ (as an example)>properties>offline settings> and then I change "only files and folders users specify..." to "All files...". Apply and done.It works like a champ for what I'm trying to do (enable Restore Previous Versions of files to actually work- I learned that RPV fix from another thread here at seven), but after each restart the settings are restored to default. I'm assuming there's a group policy I can implement that'll auto-set those permissions permanently but I can't find any 'offline' shared folder permissions options anywhere

View 3 Replies View Relatedwhen I copied over fonts to the windows fonts and told it to replace the current font it didn't do what I wanted. For example I copied over a font with the name HS.ttf, and when I now look at the corresponding font it is called HS_1.ttf. I have a certain program that looks in the WindowsFonts folder for a font called HS.ttf and it currently can't find that file. I thought no big deal I'll just rename HS_1.ttf to HS.ttf. That's where I have a problem, when I try to do that it gives me the error 'Cannot rename HS_1: A file with the name you specified already exists. Specify a different file name.' When I do a search for a file called HS.ttf it can't be found anywhere. How do I go about finding and removing this HS.ttf and renaming my HS_1.ttf file so that my program can correctly find the font file I want it to?

Since the desktop icons/fonts on the TV shows default (small) size from the laptop, in order for me to see it from the distance I have to change the desktop icons/fonts to a larger size. Here is my question; Is there a way to set up a different desktop icon/fonts size to match the TV and the laptop? (perhaps different profile settings???) Meaning, when I disconnect the HDMI cable from the TV, I want the size of the icons/fonts go back to default/small size icons and vice versa

I have trawled through this question via the search box search and the nearest answer is to export them first. Unfortunately I did not do that.
View 2 Replies View RelatedThis is quite a complex operation and MS doesn't actually explain how to do it so here goes.
The trick is to get your email messages into Outlook Express (OE on XP) or Windows Mail (on Vista) before you can import into Windows Live mail. Then the import can be done directly.
There isn't any way currently to import mail directly from Outlook to Windows Live Mail so you have to do it indirectly BEFORE installing Windows 7.
1) even if you don't use Outlook Express (XP) or Windows Mail (VISTA) you need to have them running on the same machine as your copy of OUTLOOK.
2) create (if you haven't already) email accounts in OE or Windows mail identical to those you have in Outlook.
3) Now import your messages from Outlook into OE or Windows Mail.
4) Change the Store Identity in OE or Windows mail to a disk that your Windows 7 can read (do this under Maintenance - data storage locations in OE or Windows Mail).
Doing this saves you having to install Live Mail on Vista or XP
5) Logon to your Windows 7 system and install Windows Live mail.
6) Set up your email accounts
7) File ==> import==>messages
8) Chose Outlook express or Windows mail depending on step 3)
9) Browse to the directory where you stored the messages in step 4)
10) Job done.
A bit fiddly but obviously MS don't want to make it easy for people to switch from Outlook
Note also the "Send and Receive" function is calles "SYNC" in Windows Live mail -- confusing but there it is.
If you also installed Windows Messenger you can prevent it from starting automatically at startup by going to the Orb ==>acessories==>run. type msconfig and unclick windows messenger in the start up box.
There doesn't appear to be ANY method of importing mail directly from Outlook 2003/2007.
Ever since purchasing a new Dell PC with Windows 7 and Windows Live Mail, I am being driven around the bend with mail problems.Previously with XP and Vista my mail through my ISP worked almost flawlessly. Now it seems that not only is my email is being wrecked by Windows Live Mail, but Microsoft is monitoring my private mail! Why am I receiving messages (below) from Microsoft re Live Mail and Hotmail? In effect it seems that Windows Live Mail is duplicating AND storing incoming mail on my ISP's server.
