I recently added started using AeroVG Windows 7 's transparent theme and I like it very much. But it changed something and I would like to change it back. A picture would describe it much better so here it is:These are menus that would appear when you right click on your pinned applications. What I would like to do is to remove the black "glow" outline of the font color.

View 5 Replies View RelatedIn Vista and older versions, if I right clicked on a program in the taskbar I could then move the mouse up ever so slightly to click "close."
Now there is a weird little "box" that pops up instead of a menu, and I have to move my mouse significantly further to get to "close." Sounds trivial, but if I am shutting down several applications in a row it is much slower this way.
Is there a way to return the right click menu to normal?
This all started whenever I wanted to change my text size different by changing my DPI settings. What I did was right click, go to screen resolution, and clicked on "Make text and other items larger or smaller". From this I changed it to 100% from 125%. I noticed it had changed my font size to the 100%. It then made everything SUPER small when I changed my theme settings.Whenever I right click and go into personalization settings, I do the usual customizing to my likings. Since I want to save the theme, I do so by naming it, blah. Now I want to use the blah theme by click on it, and I do so. Everything is fine and dandy until I right click my desktop to refresh(out of habit). This is the before and after of the font sizes.

My workaround was to set a custom DPI setting, log off like it prompts me to, then changing it back to 100%, again prompting to do so. It is so annoying to do so.
I am seeing small artifacts on the upper edge of the taskbar (using classic view, I could use Aero if I wanted to). I'm not convinced that this is actually browser related, it is just that since I have a browser up full time, that is what is leaving artifacts behind. If I resize the bar, IE drag it up a notch and back to normal again, the artifacts go away (basically a refresh..).

for the last few weeks whenever i left click on the desktop it brings the right click menu. this dosen't happen in the browser (firefox), but only in the windows desktop and start menu. however i the browser if i am on a web player like Internet, the portion that displays the video fails to display my cursor. as a result i am not able to control the video settings in the browser.

For example I copied over a font with the name HS.ttf, and when I now look at the corresponding font it is called HS_1.ttf. I have a certain program that looks in the WindowsFonts folder for a font called HS.ttf and it currently can't find that file. I thought no big deal I'll just rename HS_1.ttf to HS.ttf. That's where I have a problem, when I try to do that it gives me the error 'Cannot rename HS_1: A file with the name you specified already exists. Specify a different file name.' When I do a search for a file called HS.ttf it can't be found anywhere. How do I go about finding and removing this HS.ttf and renaming my HS_1.ttf file so that my program can correctly find the font file I want it to?

View 1 Replies View RelatedSo about a month ago I restarted my computer and when it came back on all my programs pinned to my task bar and everything that was in my start menu was gone. From there I could not unlock the taskbar and nothing would pin in either the start menu or taskbar. I researched everywhere about it. I tried unlocking the taskbar in properties and registry with no luck. I finally found some posts about how my user profile was corrupt and from there I went on and made a new profile and copied everything and BOOM it all worked fine now. Well today it happened AGAIN! I restarted my computer and everything disappeared. So I think it is still a corrupt profile, but this is the second time it has happened.

That said, He can not pin anything to taskbar or start menu. I cleared both folders of shortcuts(567 of them) but to no avail. He also has no options under his desktop Context menu for New. He is also using a roaming profile, of which I will disable next time I am there. I have a feeling that might be the issue. I did scour the internet trying all the usual suggestions, but do vaguely remember something about an entry in cache somewhere that if it is too big or corrupt, it could cause this behavior. I am unable to find that post anywhere now.I mention the network card because one post had taskbar issues until he disabled his faulty network card. I have disabled the faulty network card.

Well right above that is "delete" and I'm frequently getting the two mixed when clicking, though I don't usually actually delete cause I catch that first. Is there a way to seperate those and reorder the drop down list so they are farther apart. It gets to be a nuisance sometimes when I am rename picture files.

Some times when typing it will pop up i escape out then go on to continue writing but it just comes back! It's extremely annoying and i can figure out what is causing it. I'm currently using a desktop machine with Windows 7 home premium 62 bit, and i have tried more than once unplugging my mouse and plugging it back in. The windows are also faded out as if they are in the background. I have to ctrl+alt+delete and cancel to get things working again for a little while. I really loved XP's smaller taskbar, I don't mind windows 7's big bulky icons, but i absolutely hate the windows 7 smaller icons on the taskbar option.
They are just TOO SMALL to see, and they make the image look like 16x16 images, is there anyway to make them SLIGHTLY bigger? Maybe a regedit hack of sorts?
When I right-click on certain things (in this case, all types of files), some of the entries in the right-click menu are shorter than the others, and stick out of place. One of them is my Bluetooth "Send to Bluetooth Device" entry, which looks to be about 4 pixels shorter, and really does stick out like a sore thumb.

View 1 Replies View RelatedA few minutes ago I highlighted a URL, right clicked in order to copy and the right click context menu did not open.
Unfortunately one cannot use Edit/Copy in the command bar for a URL.
I then attempted to copy random text from a web page and again no right click context menu. I was able to copy the text using Edit/Copy. I can also use Edit/Copy in notepad.
I also discovered that I have no right click context menu at all. I tried right clicking on the taskbar, the desktop, desktop icons, and in an empty space in my top command bars. Next I tried to copy the URL using SeaMonkey. Didn't work.
It worked earlier today. I have made no changes to anything that would cause this to happen. I really need the context menu. How do I get it back?
edit to add: I uninstalled the software for my mouse, reinstalled, didn't cure the problem. I did a google search and found an article by Microsoft which I followed but did not resolve the issue.
I just noticed for the first time after 2+ years of using Windows 7.I have all sorts of shortcuts I use that are just stuck in my memory from older versions of Win. Right click + W + F = new folder.Right click + W + T = new text doc.I just noticed however, that in the right click menu, the shortcut letters aren't underlined anymore like they were in older versions.for example, New used to be written New. For me this is not a huge deal since I already know most of them but why would MS intentionally remove a helpful feature like that (especially while leaving the functionality in)? A new user will have no way of knowing that shortcut exists without seeing the underlined letters.The only reason I'm noticing now, after so long, is because I'm learning Ubuntu/Linux and noticed they do have the underlined letters in their GUI, and then coming back to Win I noticed they don't.

It ran alright for a few days but over the last 2 days, I've been getting a flickering type problem. Now whatever is causing this is also affecting my ability to click or tab items or right click an item. Ex: If I have task manager open and want to close it; I right click it in the task bar to click close but the minute I move to click close the menu disappears.

After I got through and did a clean install of Windows 7, I went and did all of my customizations, and I tried to modify the right-click menu using registry edits that I found online. They would add to the registry successfully, but would not appear in the right-click menu. I also tried to delete the graphic preferences, which worked, but after rebooting, they reappeared again. The right-click menu on my laptop started popping without me clicking anything a couple days ago. It sporadically does this. Sometimes a bunch in a row and then not at all. I've scanned my computer to check for a virus but nothing showed up.
