Custom Batch File That Copies Font Files To Another Folder?
Sep 17, 2012I just downloaded all of the Google Web Fonts and they were each downloaded into their respected folders, so instead of clicking on folder after folder and right clicking after right clicking and finally installing each and every font;
How can I create a command prompt (batch) file so the prompt can search the main folder where all the font folders are, grab any and all TrueType Font files and move or copy them into another single folder?

Feb 23, 2011Can I actually specify a custom size for these taskbar icons other than small or large as here? I have so many of them and my taskbar have already two rows and sometimes when I open programs or whatever else that is NOT included as a shortcut button on the taskbar, it takes extra space at which point the taskbar becomes scrollable with 3 rows. Not a good thing. I hate it with a passion. Yes I could make my task bar with 3 rows, but no, I don't like to waste my precious screen space. So basically I'd like to to make these icons a little smaller, kind of like the QuickLaunch icons.

Oct 5, 2011I suddenly started seeing this ugly font (see images below) on many webpages.I think this issue began right around the time I installed some other fonts, but I am not sure. Initially, I figured it was a Chrome thing but have since confirmed the issue extends to IE and Firefox, leading me to believe this is a Windows issue. By the time I tried to revert the changes via System Restore, it was too late (restore only went back a few days; maybe I need to adjust settings there?).I tried to reset the default font but Windows does not seem to respond to that. When I click "Restore to default font settings" the button greys out but nothing else happens. No dialog box and no change in the issue.

Can't Print Avery Labels
Aug 7, 2011I can't print Avery labels on my laser HL 2140 Brothers printers. I go into Word 2010 under Mailings click on Labels put in 48263 for a 2X4 put in my address and I get an Error (A red light) and it won't print. I have a color laser printer that will print these labels but is there reasons why this printer won't are is it something I might be doing wrong?

Labels Creation With Word 2010
Nov 17, 2011Having opened a Works Database I open a Word document to create labels. "Mailings" produces the Mail Merge boxes. Having selected "use existing list" I get a box containing various coding options, Western(Windows) being highlighted - the rest are different languages, e.g. Turkish, Korean etc. On selecting "Select recipients" I get a list in one of the obscure languages. I have tried various methods but am unable to get the list from my database. Labels used to work perfectly with Word 2007 and MS Works.

These labels above the different drives are really annoying, as I'm accustomed at one item after another and somehow one could change it to that view in every OS every since (XP, Vista), but now it doesn't seem to work? (I tried all the context menu items )

Windows 7 And Printer Sharing On Domain - Labels Or Envelopes Won't Print
Jun 22, 2011I have just upgraded the 8 pcs in my office from XP Pro to Windows 7 Pro 32bit and I've encountered printer sharing issues. I have a local mono laser connected to my PC by USB. I've shared this and others have been able to add the printer and on occasion print to it, it usually works when they want to print text to A4 but when they want to do labels or envelopes they usually sit in the queue and don't print. This is not an issue we had on XP and the document templates haven't changed. I don't think it is an issue with the printer (I've replaced it with a new one to make sure), I don't think it is an issue with the documents. I think it is an issue with Windows 7 and was wondering if there is a known issue or fix. The computers are connected over a domain not workgroup.

Jan 3, 2013So about a month ago I restarted my computer and when it came back on all my programs pinned to my task bar and everything that was in my start menu was gone. From there I could not unlock the taskbar and nothing would pin in either the start menu or taskbar. I researched everywhere about it. I tried unlocking the taskbar in properties and registry with no luck. I finally found some posts about how my user profile was corrupt and from there I went on and made a new profile and copied everything and BOOM it all worked fine now. Well today it happened AGAIN! I restarted my computer and everything disappeared. So I think it is still a corrupt profile, but this is the second time it has happened.

Jan 16, 2013I have a client that has laptop with windows 7 Pro. He had a faulty network card, so I have added a new, usb network card. That said, He can not pin anything to taskbar or start menu. I cleared both folders of shortcuts(567 of them) but to no avail. He also has no options under his desktop Context menu for New. He is also using a roaming profile, of which I will disable next time I am there. I have a feeling that might be the issue. I did scour the internet trying all the usual suggestions, but do vaguely remember something about an entry in cache somewhere that if it is too big or corrupt, it could cause this behavior. I am unable to find that post anywhere now.I mention the network card because one post had taskbar issues until he disabled his faulty network card. I have disabled the faulty network card.

When I tried to put another program onto the taskbar, called minecraft_server.jar, it pinned to the Spiral Knights icon, even though SK isn't installed anymore. Wherever I try to put the minecraft_server.jar onto the taskbar, the SK program is still there, and it says if I want to pin the minecraft_server.jar onto SK.

Go to Control Panel, click on appearance and open the Font section, then click on "File" and choose "Install a Font". However, as is typical to 40% of their instructions, its not there. There is no " Install a Font" theres everything else however, adjusting, gazing at, painting, thinking about, wondering about or even sleeping with fonts, but there is no "Install a Font" I'm sorry, but I get so annoyed with having to take my time to try to correct something and taking the time to try to find the answers and having to bother someone like you in the 'forum' to find an answer that should be there. It's just so typical of MS and I go back to DOS. So, I apologize to you, educated forum reader, that you have to waste your valuable brain power and tell me how to do this simple thing which a ten year old working somewhere at MS should be able to get correct bullet proof instructions so that a simpleton like myself can actually do it.

Oct 1, 2010I've formatted my laptop a few days ago and thought that some fonts in some websites looked weird compared to before, I thought I was just being paranoid and that it was my imagination, but after a few days where I couldn't stop to think that, I took a printscreen in the other pc on the house and comparing side to side to mine it as clear as day that it's different On the left it's how mine is, on the right how the other PC is(and how it was before in mine). All I did was formatting and installing most of the programs that was installed before on the laptop, I didn't tweaked the fonts or anything. Oh, also this is not specific to a browser, the font on internet explorer or firefox looks exactly the same. I tried resetting to default and checked that the font used is Segoe UI size 9.

Missing Font In Some Windows?
Jun 5, 2012have a Samsung NP-QX411 Laptop running Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit. About two days ago or so some of my dialogs started missing text. (See attached images.)It's not just Windows related dialogs that are missing text. Some of my programs, such as Team Viewer and Advanced System Care, are also missing text while others such as Malwarebytes are not. Also, some Windows dialogs such as Task Manager and System restore are missing text but others such as Device manager are not.I have tried updating all my display drivers directly from the Samsung website but nothing seems to be working. I want to try a system restore but, as you can see in my posted image, I cannot even run System Restore because there is no text for me to see what I am doing. I am normally really good at fixing computers
