I'm using Windows 7 Ultimate, Office Pro 2007, and have an older (but perfectly functional) HP PSC1200 all-in-one.I have some documents I want to scan and save as documents (preferably as .doc). Is there any streamlined way of doing this? Fax & Scan only gives options to save scans as a few different image formats - .gif, .jpg, .bmp, and .tif - no other image formats, nor any document formats (.pdf, .txt, .doc, etc.) are available. As of now, after looking online in various places for over an hour, from what I can see, the necessary process is to save the scan as a .jpg, convert it to a .tif, open it with the Office Document Imaging program, and then send it to word.
I just purchased a new desktop computer system.I am using Windows 7.I'm trying to think how to describe this so that it makes sense.I am the only person who uses this computer. The staff member who transferred my data from my damaged computer to the new one apparently gave the computer my full first name and then gave my "nickname" the Admin role. Now I appear to have two My pictures and my documents in the library. My photos are scattered between the two My Pictures. When I save something to my pictures it doesn't end up where I expect it to be. It could be in either My Pictures. Not sure if that makes any sense at all to you ... I don't want two sets of pictures and two sets of documents. When I save a picture I want it to go to the same place every time unless I designate it somewhere else. Before I start deleting/moving anything I need to understand why my pictujres are going to one area sometimes and sometimes the other.
I use Libre office for all my documents and spreadsheets etc,Now the problem is when composing a document in Libre office then send it off to a friend who don't use Libre office. He has Microsoft office so he cant open my document,What I really would like to know is what format should I save my documents in Libre office so that they can be read the other side with Microsoft office?. Or would it solve a lot of hassle if I installed Microsoft office,I'm running windows 7 home premium. my local newspaper editor,Its not on a big scale just now and again I write about some old news and old photographs of where I live.
I have 3 computers. Computer A is a desktop runing Windows 7 Professional. Computer B is a desktop running Windows 7 Home Premium. Computer C is a laptop running Windows 7 Home Premium. FIOS is connected to Computer A. A Network of all 3 computers and a Homegroup have been set up from Computer A.We use Office 2010, mostly Word 2010 for our word processing tasks.I realize that with a Homegroup, you can create a Word 2010 document on Computer A, save it to the default location (Libraries/Documents), then open that document on Computer B, make changes to it, save it to the default location, and then open that same document on Computer A, which will show the saved changes made on Computer B.I would like to know if a Word 2010 document can be created on Computer A, then be saved to a specific folder - not a default saving location - on Computer B, so that the user on Computer B can modify the document, save it to a specific folder - not the default saving location - so that the user on Computer A can open the document from its specific folder and view the saved changes.Would this involve advanced sharing, or permissions, or some type of change on the network?
I open a file sent to me in email, click enable editing, work on it for three hours, hitting save all the while, then go to email it back and the file is gone. It isn't in my documents where I saved it, and it isn't under recent files. I am sure you can relate to the feeling of losing something you have worked hard on and I feel
Does anybody know of any file converters out there (free if possible) that can convert ClarisWorks files to Office Word files? I have a lot of old documents that I wish to convert.
In order to resolve another (game-related) problem it was recommended to me that I use the command prompt "SFC /Scannow". However, when I did this, the following appeared:
In case anyone asks, I did run it as an administrator (the scan wouldn't start otherwise). I've tried going to the log it talks about, but I don't know how to open it (I'm not so good with computers). I'm using Windows 7. I apologize for the lack of information, but I'm not too sure what would be needed and I'm in a bit of a rush;
I am not sure if this is a Win 7 problem, MS Office problem or whatever. If I have posted this inappropriately, please forgive and I will go away.
I am running Office 2003 under Windows 7 RC. My HP All in One Photosmart 2575 is connected to my network via the router and prints just fine. However, Microsoft Office Document Scanning does not recognize the device as a scanner. The 'Choose Scanner' box is empty. If I connect the All in One to a USB port, Document Scanning finds the scanner and it works as expected.
What must I do to get the All in One to be detected as a scanner under Windows 7 when connected as a network device?
I have a wireless connection between my Lexmark Pro205 printer and my new Windows 7. I can't figure out how to scan and then send documents. Probably a simple issue but can't figure it out.
I've been running microsoft security essentials for a while, and didn''t have any problems. Now I tried another virus scan, and i did see all kind of problems, so microsoft security essentials doesnt really work. But the problem is, I cant finish the scan, because i get a bsod during the scan. I've tried scanning with antimalwarebytes, same problem.Dump file is in attachments.
I'm looking for a good scanning software for scanners. The Canon one that comes with my scanner sucks. The software also has to support ADF scanning. Also, are there any free alternatives to Acrobat X Pro? I just need to modify PDF's, delete pages, add pages, replace pages, things like that
I have an odd problem whenever I am listening to music, or whenever windows makes any sort of sound (like error alerts, log off sound etc)Any sound is played distorted and is completely beyond recognition. I noticed that this only happens when I have an AVG scan running and if I pause/continue the scan, the music will change almost instantly. This suddenly started about a week ago and I hadn't installed any new software or anything.
I need help about DNS posion attackthis morning When I enter face my Eset nitice meDetected Port scaning AttackRemote Ip addressxxx.xxx.x.xxandDetected DNS posion AttackRemote Ip addressxxx.xxx.x.xx
I'm looking for a document scanning software (of course FREE (if available)) to scan in my monthly bills using the automatic document feeder. Once they are all scan in to be able to place them in order. For example my elect bill is 3 pages. Therefore, if I scan it in with all the other bills, and then review it, I would like to put page 3 with the elect bill and not at the bottom of the pile.
After some searching I located where to create a custom Paper size in the printer setup. However, when I proceed to scan (via the document feeder, not the flatbed), I still cannot get the newly defined custom Paper Size to appear in the pre-defined list of page-sizes that are available - and that is regardless of which program I'm using - the 'aquire image' from Microsoft Photo Premium, the import via Microsoft Live, or the 'start scanning' in the printer setup.
I have ran western digitals lifeguard tools and they keep giving the error 06-Quick Test on drive 1 did not complete!
"Status code = 07 (Failed read test element), Failure Checkpoint = 97 (Unknown Test) SMART self-test did not complete on drive 1!"
I also get blue screen when I run the extended test, or run a chkdsk. HD tune pro tells me that there are 1461 pending sectors and 1455 uncorrectable errors. Is this bad? 1464 pending sectors on my HD but 0 reallocated.
I have horizontal lines that scan my monitor whenever i play a game. I can see the horizontal lines only on darker colors like grey, dark-green etc. I have a Samsung E2220 display that runs at 1080p on 60hz on a vga cable (no hdmi/dvi support on it). I tried another vga cable, i tried another power cable but with the same result.I have all drivers updated (monitor and other hardware). My current PC specs are: AsRock N68-C S UCC, Phenom II x4, 4Gb DDR3, Radeon HD7770, 500gb HDD Sata3 and a power supply Sirtec 500W 80+.If I open Far Cry 3, for example, i get those horizontal lines. If i minimize the game i still get the horizontal lines if i have something dark on my display (a grey/dark-green/dark-blue website). Before the HD7770 i had a GTS 450 and had the same problems. Could it be the PSU, or the motherboard or what? I also tried a different display monitor (on the VGA) and had the same horizontal lines scaning my display monitor.
I was scanning this morning with great success. Abruptly, it quit scanning. I've rebooted the PC, uninstalled the printer and reinstalled it. It still will not scan.
I've been doing a lot of research on this and I know this topic has been covered a million times, so please bear with me. I'm specifically wondering about the "file-optimization" features in third party defraggers such as Diskeeper or Iobit Smart Defrag (which I use). I know that Microsoft has refined their own defragger, but it seems to me that it has no obvious file optimization and it of course does not have real-time defragging. I've been using Iobit Smart Defrag for a long time and it seems to do a good job of keeping my computer in shape. But, if the Windows 7 defrag works good enough, I'd prefer to just use that and get rid of Smart Defrag to free up CPU and RAM. I'd obviously lose out on the real-time scanning, file optimization, and the boot time scan that Iobit just added to their latest release. But, are these features really necessary for fast, clean performance of Windows 7? Or are these just gimics from third party companies to get me to purchase their software.
computer suddenly shutdown like power suply is off. but power supply is on.this problem is occurred when website surfing on internet or searching files or when scanning file by antivirus.

I'm looking for really good network tools software, that can completely manage my LAN - monitor network activity on all PC's on the LAN (upload/download activity), port scanning, wireless management, assigning IP addresses and just all the general network tasks.
I'm running Windows 7. When I "right click, save" pics from the web, they oftentimes show up as a flat colored line. In the folder they've been saved in, the thumbnail looks normal, but when you open it, it's a mess. Or the picture is compressed to the point it no longer resembles the original photo.
I have an HP Pavilion PC, Windows 7, 1 yr old. It has never recognized the presence of a blank writable disc in the disc drive. When trying to save any type of file, it gives a "no disc in drive - insert a disc" message, even when a new writable disc has been inserted.
Suddenly Windows Live Mail has gone erratic in saving emails in Sent Items. Problem just cropped up in the last few days. The option to save-in-Sent is checked.
Doing several tests of a series of three emails sent to the same address, it generally does not save the first one but DOES save the subsequent emails. Have run this test several times with the same result. For some reason, it skips the first one sent to an particular address but then saves others sent immediately. However, after an interval of time, another new message to that same address will not be saved the first time it's sent.
The messages are being sent -- I have received those that I sent to myself (to another account) and friends tell me they have received messages that I know were not saved to Sent Items. No changes were made to Windows Live Settings prior to this problem arising. It was working fine a week ago.
Operating system is Windows 7 Ultimate x64 with Windows Live Mail 2011 Version 2011 (Build 15.4.3538.0513)
