PC Quit Scanning Suddenly Running Windows 7 64bit
Feb 18, 2011I was scanning this morning with great success. Abruptly, it quit scanning. I've rebooted the PC, uninstalled the printer and reinstalled it. It still will not scan.

I also get blue screen when I run the extended test, or run a chkdsk. HD tune pro tells me that there are 1461 pending sectors and 1455 uncorrectable errors. Is this bad? 1464 pending sectors on my HD but 0 reallocated.
Windows 7 X64 Running Extremely Slow Suddenly
Oct 4, 2009I have win 7 x64 on my laptop and it has been running fantastic for several weeks now. But all of the sudden it has just become unbareably slow and unmost completly unresponsive. I can hardly do anything on it it is so slow. It is not my laptop, which is still quite new and fairly fast. I have 32bit on my desktop which is much older and it runs fine. The only recent changes I have made is installing the latest updates for office 2007, and installing PS3media server with Java runtime. I can boot to safe mode and it runs fine and is not slow at all. I tried to restore to the restore point before installing office 2007 updates but it fails to complete. I was able to uninstall Java after taking almost an hour to open control panel and everything. Now i am trying to completly uninstall office to see if that fixes it, but I have a feeling it will take all day or more. This is the second time it has done this, both times I installed win 7 it ran really great for a few weeks than its just dead like it hit a brick wall.

May 31, 2012I have Asus eee PC since 2010 with Win 7 and never had any problem. I was working on my laptop without any problem. But for last couple of hours I am not able to connect to my wireless network. It doesn't show any network. It only shows the message "Not connected. No connections available". I have internet service through out the house. Wireless is also working on my IPod, IPad and IPhone. I have desktop connected with network wire and internet is working just fine. When I connect my EEE with network cable, everything is working as expected. Only wireless is not working.
I already tried the following:
1. Restarted my eee pc
2. Restarted wireless router (doing this before, would remove any problem but not this time)
3. Tried clicking Fn + F2 buttons
Also, few minutes back my machine was updated with automatic update of Win 7 SP1. Nothing is working.. I don't know what happened. It is so frustrating to see things stop working without any valid reason.
Windows 7 64 Bit Suddenly Started Running Slow - RAM Registering Fine
Apr 23, 2011All of a sudden on my Windows 7 ultimate 64bit, my Windows started to run so slow to the point where I can basically not even use it. All the stats show my RAM registering fine(4gb) and I just can't find what the problem will be. In its normal mode, it will take around 20min just to get to the front screen and is super slow when it comes to opening programs as well. It seems to run safe mode fine though, with speeds that I am used to.

Oct 20, 2011I have a HP I purchased at a store just over a year ago.I am running Windows 7 64bit. [code] I have some games (Spore, Sid Meier's Railroads) that worked great on this machine after I got it. The machine more then meets the specs. I could play for as long as I want and have no issues. Now I open either game and after about 5-10 minutes it is like the machine is overwhelmed with process. My CPU usage and ram goes up to 100% and everything is slow. When I click on a button to get a menu it takes 3-5 seconds for the menu to come up and then another 3-5 seconds for the mouse to move to the menu so I can select an option. So far I have made sure all my drivers are current, I have cleaned the registry with 2 different cleaners, I have removed all unnecessary programs from starting, I have tracked down process I determined to be non-essential and made sure those don't run, I have tweaked Windows to use less recourse (I should not need to do this now), I have removed unneeded programs, I have defragged, I have cleaned unneeded files, I have run Microsoft malware scanner (forget the name, no problems found), I have run Kaspersky 2011 in a deep scan and a critical area scan (nothing found), I even got one of those Speed Up My PC programs (I know garbage program) because I am so frustrated but that didn't do anything. I don't want to F disk it because I have too much data I need to keep.

Mar 17, 2011I recently started having trouble with my laptop running very slowly. I ran avg and also Spybot and they came back with no viruses or spyware. I opened the task manager and noticed that it is running at 100% CPU, and assume that is the reason for the lag. I noticed teatimer associated with Spybot S&D was taking up a lot of memory, so I uninstalled S&D and reinstalled it without the teatimer. That seemed to speed it up slightly, but it is still running slow, particularly when trying to play videos or opening programs needing java. I also ran PC tools registry mechanic to scan the registry, clean up the disks and registry, and defrag the registry, but not getting any faster. Looking at the processes in the task manager, the two that are using up the most CPU seem to be connected to my Belkin Router (which I have been using without this problem for several months)kbackupscheduler.exe and Connect.exe go back and forth between 47% CPU and 50% CPU each.consequences of stopping (or removing) them would be

Sep 20, 2011I had my laptop running last night and I woke up this morning and my computer was frozen. It wasn't the "blue screen of death" as many mention as it was simply frozen but when I turned it back on (and continue to turn it back on) it gets stuck on "Starting Windows" without even proceeding to the Windows login screen. Next, when I launch a "system repair" it goes through the process but freezes in the blue "system repair" screen without even showing anything. Just the blue background sunshine screen and is just stuck there.
Under "Advanced Boot Options" the "Last Known Good Configuration" gives me no luck either. I then try "Safe Mode" and under "Safe Mode with Command Prompt" it freezes while "Loading Windows Files" and the last file/driver it shows is windowssystem32DRIVERSAtiPcie.sys. I have a Windows 7 64-bit boot disc but this is my small laptop which doesn't have a CD/DVD drive. I can use my USB drive if necessary but I attempted to do that but maybe there is some special way I must install it on my USB drive?? Otherwise I am completely stuck.

Mar 19, 2012I use my laptop to dj with 4 nights a week so as you can imagine it is very important to me and a vital part of my income. a few weeks ago i had an issue where i had somehow picked up a virus and it forced me to do a complete format and reinstall of windows. however since then it has been running very hot and cpu usage has gone through the roof.
all drivers and bios are up-to date and the laptop is fully optimised for audio processing.
the specs are as follows:
hp g62 450sa
i3 2.27ghz
8gb ram
60gb ocz vertex ssd (with os on)
500gb 7200rpm hdd in drive bay (music only)
i have read that another complete reinstall may fix the problem, which i am prepared to do.. however onto the next problem, i left a cd walled in a club last week which had my recovery discs in it, when i went back the next week it was gone!!
how to get around or sort this, or is there anywhere that i can download a copy of the install discs. i have spoken with microsoft and they are willing to re-authorise my product key when i re-install.
Dell Laptop Suddenly Running Slow?
Dec 31, 2011So I have a Dell Inspirion 1545; One day when I turned it on, it started running extremely slow. It took almost 30 minutes just to boot to password screen, I put in the password and almost took another 30 minutes to get to desktop. Well then it started giving me errors like Dell Dock has failed and Windows (Something) had crashed, I got it up long enough to run Malware Bytes, and CCleaner to fix registry errors but nothing. Now I try to turn it on in normal mode and takes about an hour and thirty minutes to get through everything and to the desktop and thats if the icons decide to show. and if I try to get it into safe mode I get Bad_System_config_Info bsod.I dont really know whats going on, it decided that it was gonna shit out on a random day. The computer is out of warranty and Dell doesnt provide support for it anymore.Its basically un-bootable. There are no system restore points aswell, Repair your computer says it fixes everything but it doesnt.

Feb 3, 2012I'm using Windows 7 64bit Professional. It's configured for English and the System Local for non-Unicode is English (RP Philippines).I've been able to copy and past Chinese characters from Word --> Notepad -->Chrome/Firefox/IE for work (I was localizing a website) with no problems until last night. Today, when I tried to copy-paste a few chinese characters from Word, I was suddenly only seeing square boxes. I know this means that the font or app can't recognize or render the characters. My questions is WHY? and how to Fix it? It frustrates me since it was fine yesterday. I haven't installed anything new or changed any setting that I know of. Other applications still render the characters just fine. In fact, if I copy-paste a Chinese character from word to notepad (making a square), then copy the square from Notepad to Chrome, I get the Chinese character back rendered perfectly.
The only change would be a windows update KB915597 that automatically installed last night. To add insult to injury, whenever I go to Windows Update to look at my optional updates and try to search for the Chinese (simplified) LIP, it's not displayed! Even when I click "restore hidden updates". I've even tried the Windows Update Reset regkey, which deleted my Windows Update history, but the LIP's are still not there.
Windows 7 Home 64bit Suddenly Incredibly Slow - SMART Check Failure
Jul 15, 2012I have been using my HP Pavilion g6 laptop for around a year now, and so far it has been smooth sailing. However, around a day or two ago, my computer suddenly became unbearably slow on normal mode. I would try to open google chrome and it would freeze up my computer, and even opening the start menu took an incredible amount of time. This was a sudden onset of slowness and I cannot remember if I installed any updates that may have caused this. Using even safe mode, opening the uninstall part of control panel would take ages. I have tried many things to fix this:Used SFC/scannow, caused a crash.
Used disk check on safe mode, says that I need to defrag 1% of the disk. However, It also says there is a SMART check failure. I am quite confused about this because when I looked again it said that the smart status was "good". (HP support center) Deleted temporary files Checked task manager to see if there was any processes that were taking up too much memory, it looks good normally. However, on normal mode whenever I would open chrome the CPU would spike to 60%.
Specs are:
AMD A6-3400M APU with Radeon graphics.
6gigs of RAM

I chose to use x64 because of the 3GB RAM restriction using x86.It takes a long time to boot up. I've disabled as many programs as I can to start-up with Windows. Don't have an anti-virus program as yet, and I'm using the default Windows 7 Firewall.[CODE]

I was using it, but realized I had accidentally installed a 32bit version rather then the 64bit of windows 7 and as a result my ram was being under utilized. I double checked my cpu and installed the 64bit version of windows, but know that I have everything reinstalled, the windows updates seemed to be taking forever, and the computer is acting very slow and unresponsive, it ran much better using the 32bit version of windows.I'm at wits end, as the two set ups were practically identical, aside from the 32/64 change.

I also have 4x firepro 2450 video cards 3 of x16 here: NTI--ATI FirePro 2450 PCI Express. 4 Display Video card.and 1 of x1 here: NTI--ATI FirePro 2450 PCI Express. 4 Display Video card.I am running windows 7 pro 64 bit I have 2 of the x16 cards installed and its working fine and it takes me to a black screen that says "loading operating system" and then everything else goes smooth and takes me to the windows os. When I run the system with these 2 video cards everything runs perfectly and I can get 8 outputs. The problem is, when I put the third card in the system, the system boots, gets passed the bios (where I can press esc to access bios) but then it takes me to a black screen with no further activity. It's when I place the third card in, is when this black screen occurs without having any message.Maybe the systems confused with this third card. Maybe it's something in windows 7 settings. Or maybe bios.I have installed this exact firepro driver: ATI FireGL?Do I need to have SLI or CrossFire to run multiple video cards? Apr 15, 2012First off my power supply went out. It was a 450watt one I ordered and replaced it with a 750watt power supply. After I replaced the power supply, my computer would not boot, When the power supply went out it was in the middle of updating windows. So I formatted the hard drive and did a clean install of windows, reloaded all my drivers and extra programs. At that point my computer was running great.
I decided to uninstall Bing tool bar, and windows live sign in assistant. it prompted my to reboot. When I rebooted the computer, after about 30 minutes it still had not come up to the desktop, I could boot up in safe mode and it would run fine. I did a system restore, no change, I did a start up repair, no change, Tested the memory it came back fine.
At that point and reformatted the hard drive again, I had another hard drive formatted it and put the install CD in and after 8 hours it is still trying to install Windows 7, No errors just really really slow. So I have replaced the power supply, hard drive, and ran a memory test with no errors, done a clean install of windows. Running Windows 7 64 bit, 4 gig of Ram, 2.8 dual core processor, 1 gig video card, 500 gig hard drive.
