I have a toshiba satallite E105-S1402 running on Windows 7 64-bit and I am missing the video drivers. Was working with extended display...set something incorrectly and had to go roll back to original drivers. Now the drivers are missing and I can't run the extended display any longer.

Only problem I have now is that I can't find any 64-bit drivers for the fingerprint sensor. When I went to check the first time device manager showed it as an SMSC fingerprint sensor but checking their site didn't assist at all, any working driver? Randomly (for example: while surfing the internet), on Windows 7, the computer crashes with a screen with blue and grey vertical stripes (or sometimes totally grey or black). Sometimes this screen "hides" a BSoD, sometimes it doesn't. The system crashes only if video drivers are installed. On Ubuntu 11.04 (64-bit) and Windows XP (32bit), even after installing the drivers, there are no crashes. From BlueScreenView, all crashes look identical.
I tried:
- 2 passes of Memtest86+: 0 issues
- Installing Windows 7 and then ONLY the video drivers: CRASH
- Installing XP 32-bit SP2 and the drivers: does not crash
- Using Ubuntu 11.04 64-bit: does not crash
- Uninstalling the drivers: does not crash
- Safe mode: does not crash (obviously)
I have a Toshiba L455 laptop that I recently purchased from a friend. It is running Windows 7. However, I keep getting these messages about counterfeit software and I cannot accept any Windows Updates without a key. I have a valid copy of XP w/service pak 3 with a key that I'd like to install on this laptop. I did not get a disc with this laptop but it is my understanding that he formatted this by "installing factory defaults." I don't know all this computer language so I'd like some simple instructions. And no, I can't go back to my "friend" to get this problem fixed. Also, the XP disc I have was used on a desktop. Do I need a specific "laptop disc" of XP or does that matter?

Had to do a hard shutdown, then ran a system restore back to about 2 weeks ago, and a Malwarebytes scan. Still having the issue. I was using it, but realized I had accidentally installed a 32bit version rather then the 64bit of windows 7 and as a result my ram was being under utilized. I double checked my cpu and installed the 64bit version of windows, but know that I have everything reinstalled, the windows updates seemed to be taking forever, and the computer is acting very slow and unresponsive, it ran much better using the 32bit version of windows.I'm at wits end, as the two set ups were practically identical, aside from the 32/64 change.

View 9 Replies View RelatedI am trying to get 15 monitors working on my system. I have a gigabyte GA990fxaud5 motherboard with amd fx 8150, 8 core CPU and 16 gb dual channel Kingston ram. I also have 4x firepro 2450 video cards 3 of x16 here: NTI--ATI FirePro 2450 PCI Express. 4 Display Video card.and 1 of x1 here: NTI--ATI FirePro 2450 PCI Express. 4 Display Video card.I am running windows 7 pro 64 bit I have 2 of the x16 cards installed and its working fine and it takes me to a black screen that says "loading operating system" and then everything else goes smooth and takes me to the windows os. When I run the system with these 2 video cards everything runs perfectly and I can get 8 outputs. The problem is, when I put the third card in the system, the system boots, gets passed the bios (where I can press esc to access bios) but then it takes me to a black screen with no further activity. It's when I place the third card in, is when this black screen occurs without having any message.Maybe the systems confused with this third card. Maybe it's something in windows 7 settings. Or maybe bios.I have installed this exact firepro driver: ATI FireGL?Do I need to have SLI or CrossFire to run multiple video cards? How do i do that for these video cards I have?What are the settings in the BIOS that will enable these 4 video cards.The expansion slots on the mb are compatible with the 4 cards and it does have enough grunt to handle these cards, but it's now getting all 4 cards to operate together on the os.
View 2 Replies View RelatedFirst off my power supply went out. It was a 450watt one I ordered and replaced it with a 750watt power supply. After I replaced the power supply, my computer would not boot, When the power supply went out it was in the middle of updating windows. So I formatted the hard drive and did a clean install of windows, reloaded all my drivers and extra programs. At that point my computer was running great.
I decided to uninstall Bing tool bar, and windows live sign in assistant. it prompted my to reboot. When I rebooted the computer, after about 30 minutes it still had not come up to the desktop, I could boot up in safe mode and it would run fine. I did a system restore, no change, I did a start up repair, no change, Tested the memory it came back fine.
At that point and reformatted the hard drive again, I had another hard drive formatted it and put the install CD in and after 8 hours it is still trying to install Windows 7, No errors just really really slow. So I have replaced the power supply, hard drive, and ran a memory test with no errors, done a clean install of windows. Running Windows 7 64 bit, 4 gig of Ram, 2.8 dual core processor, 1 gig video card, 500 gig hard drive.

It will only happen for a few seconds then go back to normal. I am not sure why this has started happening as the rig I have is custom built. View 1 Replies View RelatedBasically i cannot get video driver to install. It's a fresh install of windows7 64bit on an older computer (Athlon 3700+, 939, HP a1310n), onboard video is ati x300. It's not supported by win7, so I installed the legacy vista drivers (both 9.3 and 10.2) without any luck (wouldn't even install). Aside from windows 7 updates I have not installed anything whatsoever on this computer, including bios drivers (again, not supported by win7). I wanted to install win xp but that's a whole other story (after a couple failed installs, XP stopped accepting my cd-key so I admitted defeat...). He only wants to use the computer to watch movies and online videos. He also gave me an external card (x1650), but computer did not recognize it at all, so onboard video it is. Also, lol, his dvd drive wasn't reading any discs, so I found an old IDE I had and switched it and it worked fine. Funny this is, he only recently had another friend put win7 32bit on it so it must have been working recently, seems odd to 'suddenly' stop responding.I know 64bit is a little slow for this computer, but from a 'cold' start, this has an internet page open in 65 seconds from post! Not too terrible... 32 bit ran quick, but that's no longer an option as all i have is 64 bit
