New Toshiba Laptop Running Windows 7 Then Began Freezing?
Jun 13, 2011
Have a new Toshiba laptop running Windows 7 than began freezing yesterday. Laptop less than 2 months old. Had to do a hard shutdown, then ran a system restore back to about 2 weeks ago, and a Malwarebytes scan. Still having the issue. Computer runs without issue apparently in safe mode (which I am running now).
My Toshiba laptop recently began to display a black screen upon start up. The starting windows screen appears, and then simply displays a black screen with cursor instead of login, and if I let it sit, it then restarts my whole system. However, I can force restart, and it allows me to run the computer in safe mode, and safe mode with networking support. My Mcafee Total Protection displays that my computer is at risk, but when I run a full system scan through safe mode, it produces no results. I then ran Malwarebytes Anti-Malware, and it to yielded no results. Im thinking the best fix might be a nice baseball bat.
My daughters laptop is starting to be very sluggish and is freezing. We have scanned with Malwarebytes and AVG and there are no traces of viruses. Also for about the past week the wireless mouse seems to freeze as well. Here are the specs of her computer retrieved through Windows System Information.
OS NameMicrosoft Windows 7 Home Premium Version6.1.7601 Service Pack 1 Build 7601 Other OS Description Not Available OS ManufacturerMicrosoft Corporation System NameAMANDA-PC System ManufacturerTOSHIBA System ModelSatellite C655D
Acer aspire 5750 laptop ( about 9 months old ) Wireless Internet with 'excellent' signal strength on internet Windows 7 Home Premium
The problem I'm getting is that constantly now the laptop losing its internet connection (goes to limited connectivity) or cannot connect then when i try troubleshooting/diagnosing/open the network center as soon as i run the troubleshooting etc the laptop freezes then the only way it will work again is to turn it off and back on, I would then get an internet connection again, sometimes for half an hour but often no more than five minutes.
I'm pretty sure the wireless Internet is not the issue as the fault occurs exactly the same at - My house - Girlfriends house - and has also happened when using a friends wireless at his place So the same internet connection fault occurs at three separate connections which leads me to believe its the laptop playing up.
I have a toshiba laptop and I think there may be background programs running because it is very slow. I have window xp and also need to get rid of that and install windows 7?
My PC is freezing in Windows 7 x64. Using the mouse or typing control/alt/delete does not work. I use it for Recording music. My software is Avid Pro Tools 8 and Propellerhead Reason 5. I thought one of those was the problem until it froze while I was online and also when I was using Microsoft Word. Almost at anytime it will freeze causing me to press the power button (Hard Reboot). I did a Memory Test, Virus Scan and SCF Scan. I saw on another website that it might be the NVIDIA GeForce GT 520 graphics card. I do not have any Minidumps because I do not get any BSOD errors.
A few days ago I was working on a paper and after finishing, as opposed to turning the laptop off, saved the paper and let my laptop go into sleep mode. I've done this before and it's never hurt anything, but the next day when I turned my laptop back on it had troubles starting back up. I eventually had to take the battery out and restart it that way. After that, as the week progressed, my laptop just kept lagging more and more. It got to the point where I would just have to let it sit for twenty or so minutes, and then it would work fine from then on out. Knowing something was up, I decided to see if I needed to download any new updates, which I figured was possible since I just got my laptop back from GeekSquad about a few weeks ago for a different problem, and it was behind on updates then since it had been turned off for three weeks.
So, to cut a long story short, I downloaded the "vaio entertainment platform library updater, version 1.0.2.08150" because my Vaio Update was telling me it was important I have it but it couldn't download it for some reason. The install wizard for it told me I needed to restart my computer, and so I did, and when I turned it back on it got stuck on a black screen. Eventually, I took the battery out so it would offer me the option of going into Safe Mode due to improper shutdown. I did, and tried to use "misconfig" to at least get me back to my desktop. After messing with that for a bit, and using "System Restore" to return my laptop to how it was before I installed the update, I eventually could get back to my desktop. My laptop automatically downloaded three new updates using Windows Update, and it went back to that same black screen when I restarted it, so I had to repeat the whole procedure so I could get back to my desktop, which I finally did.
I recently installed Windows 7 32bit on my Toshiba Satellite A70 series. Windows 7 Update found a lot of drivers that I installed. After I installed them my laptop would keep freezing out of nowhere frequently. Anyone else having this problem?
I have a Toshiba L455 laptop that I recently purchased from a friend. It is running Windows 7. However, I keep getting these messages about counterfeit software and I cannot accept any Windows Updates without a key. I have a valid copy of XP w/service pak 3 with a key that I'd like to install on this laptop. I did not get a disc with this laptop but it is my understanding that he formatted this by "installing factory defaults." I don't know all this computer language so I'd like some simple instructions. And no, I can't go back to my "friend" to get this problem fixed. Also, the XP disc I have was used on a desktop. Do I need a specific "laptop disc" of XP or does that matter?
Earlier this afternoon, my Toshiba laptop running windows 7 restarted itself without any prompting. Since then, I have not been able to start it in normal mode without it restarting itself of freezing either during the startup or just after. I can open it in safe mode with networking, but that is it.
Ive tried fixing the registry, Ive tried antivirus software, Ive tried system restores, and Ive tried running a clean boot. None of these have worked.
I have another problem and it pertains to my netbook which I am currently using until I fix my desktop. I own a Toshiba NB 500 I have owned it for under a year and it has started doing something that has become very annoying it freezes every 2-5 seconds and it is quite annoying I have no idea why it does it
As you see in my title it wont boot... It shows the No Boot Disk screen...The only thing I did yesterday was install Warcraft 3and if or is Intel Core i3 and in InsydeH2o Utility it shows No HDD/SSD are connectedscreen[URL]and awhile ago before it started malfunctioning I experienced a BSOD soEDIT:I tryed going into the Advanced Boot thingy which requirespressing f8 but it just shows black screen and everytime i press it beeps

it's been happening lately. my toshiba satellite(windows 7 home permium 64 bits) has been freezing up with multiple, thin, multi-colored lines with a noise similar to when a sound track on a cd sticks or freezes and no mouse response or any kind of response at all. i have to press and hold the power botton and force it to shut down. i noticed it does this more often when i try to play a video game, virus scan, video call on skype and less frequently on Internet (Internet might just be a coincidence). sometimes after the computer restarts and i virus scan or skype then i have no problems. i think it happens when i virus scan or skype when i have both multiple firefox and google chrome windows open at once but i cannot be sure. i've tested the theory a few times but it's inconclusive however i am confident that virus scans or video game are most likely to trigger the freeze even if they are the only thing i have open on the screen.
sometimes i get that message in the blue box that says "windows is shutting down to prevent damage to your computer....." the strange thing is that after i force it to shut down if i try to restart it immidiately then it will boot. all the lights will come on except the orange one in the left hand corner, the screen does not come on and windows does not load. if i leave it for 30 minutes or sometimes less after it crashed then it will restart .the funny thing is that i had this problems about 8 months ago when i tried playing a video game called a.v.a. about 2 minutes into play it would freeze with the same noise i mentioned earlier.i repeatedly tried to play the game and it happened every single time and everytime i force shut down the laptop and try to restart it right after then windows will not load and the orange light does not come on. i removed the game and reinstalled it and i never had that problem again.since i got the laptop it has randomly restarted like 4 times and i've had it for about 1 year and 2 months but now it is just freezing up (mostly) or i get that message in the blue box. at around april of this year the game stopped working. i keep getting error reports when i try to reinstall it and my windows no longer recongnized the digital signature of the company that made the game.
i'm not sure if it's overheating,i have a hard drive or motherboard problem or if it's a software problem. i've tried:
system restore defrag disc clean up
non of these have helped. i've also tried using seatool for windows to try to look for errors in my hard drive and it has not found any. i've also done that thing where windows, with the black screen and white text, check through your files for errors and corrupted stuff but that report says that it hasn't found any errors at all. my computer has no slow down in performance that i can notice. it doesn't take long to start up nor does it take long to shut down. i don't get random error reports or anything like that. it works fine except for the freezing bit.
the fan seems to be working just fine and the latop doesn't get that hot. sometimes it freezes when it's barely warm to the touch and other times it would be significantly warmer but it would not freeze even if i have multiple firefox and googlechrome windows open. before all of this when my game was working i use to play for hours with the exhaust at the side significantly heating up the desk and the computer would run perfectly without problems except that brief period i mentioned earlier where the game froze 3 minutes in to actually playing the game, reinstalled it and solved the problem. yesterday it froze on me while i was on skpye and today it froze on me about 5 minutes after windows log in on Internet without the computer getting hot, just barely warm. i just don't get it!
i've try using a vaccum to clean the vents without opening the computer. i've removed and reinserted my memory just incase they were loose and i've also removed and reinserted the hard drive to be sure that it was in properly and that has not stopped the problem either.n.b. i did do a virus scan with a trial version of kaspersky pure that i installed less than a month ago and it does say that i have a virus called "virus heur trojan.script.iframer" and a medium and high risk events. i've tried to remove or quarantine them but nothing happens and when i scan again with kaspersky pure or kaspersky virus removal tool they find no viruses but the trojan report is still there with the option of removing and quanrantine.
as i've said before i've seen no slow down in performance and it works just fine except for the freezing and the blue box message. the only noticeable problem is that both firefox and googlechrome have been just a little, little bit buggy in that sometimes i would have to close down a window and reopen it again because the pages were not loading but that's only on facebook and a few other websites and i thnk that's because of my internet connection. i've noticed that firefox is a little bit slower than usual but that's it. as i said, i've gotten no random error reports, not from windows 7 or my browser.
I have a Toshiba Satellite L505 with Windows 7 64bit. After starting up and entering the log in screen my computer freezes. I can access and work the computer through safe mode with no problems. I've checked the drivers and all are fine but one. The hdaudbus.sys is updated but will not startup. Is this what is stopping my computer from running in normal mode? Also, I have reformatted the hard drive and have also reset the computer back to factory setting.
My computer has never been the fastest (Compaq Pressario CQ56), and due to a recent issue with my McAfee Firewall where by it had turned itself off and would not come back on?I have since run subsequent Anti-malware and virus scans which are all coming up clean, however the computer is still horrendously slow when using IE. Internet Explorer is continuously freezing up, and saying it is not responding, after which I have to recover the webpage.....waiting an eternity for it to do so. Even clicking on a new link results in a wait of between 20 - 50 seconds.
I have a Toshiba Tecra A10 running on a Win7 operating system. It suddenly crashed and now starts up with a blank screen and a blinking dash and wont go anywhere from there.
I have a toshiba satallite E105-S1402 running on Windows 7 64-bit and I am missing the video drivers. Was working with extended display...set something incorrectly and had to go roll back to original drivers. Now the drivers are missing and I can't run the extended display any longer.
I've sent this computer to a repair center and after diagnostics (if thats what he calls it) he said my crashes were due to my RAM. He wanted to charge me $120 to install new RAM. Instead I had him send it back and since I am computer savvy enough I installed new RAM myself.

I got my laptop about 3 months ago bought it new. Its a HP G7-1365dx windows 7 64 bit laptop. Everything has been fine with until today. I started playing League of Legends then the laptop froze in mid game. I restarted and it froze again while in firefox. I ran virus scans and registry scans and nothing came up there. It is just freezing after I log in. Also weirdly my wifi card disappeared in device manager and showed back up after restarting the laptop again. My need to resinstall or update.
I have a Toshiba Satellite and when I launch recovery options while starting it up it goes extremely slow. If I launch it with a repair disc it still goes extremely slow. ATM, I've put the repair disc and now im just waiting to see what happens.
Im having a few problems with my laptop, its an Acer Aspire 5735 and have not long put windows 7 32 bit onto it, it has been working fine for about a week or 2 now and last night i turned it on and it would not start up at all.I have tried starting it up normally but that fails to work, it gets to Starting Windows and just freezes there, nothing happens at all. Also i have tried the Windows Startup Repair (recommended) and that fails to work as well it just gets to microsoft corporation and just freezes there aswell, i have tried booting up from the CD but that fails as well, it gets to loading windows files then freezes at the end again
I have a 3 years old ASUS F50VL laptop and it has stared to freeze randomly, like everything just stops. Sometimes when I let it hang on freeze for about an 20 seconds, the screen goes wierd, like graphics card is gone or something... I've noticed that the HDD LED stops blinking aswell... maybe the HDD could be the problem?
I have a refurbished laptop with windows 7. It keeps freezing. Typically the computer will be on for 10-15 minutes and then it just stops responding. Sometimes I am on the internet when this happens but not always. Once it freezes I can't get it to start up normally again without out doing a full system restore. I am able to start it in safe mode with no problems that I can tell.
I have (had) a windows seven home pro laptop, the memory was almost full, it kept freezing, and now it wont load at all. It just comes up with a blank screen. How do I get I into Dos and tell it to load windows? Also, will this work? If not, what else can I do?
I've finally decided to make my own thread about this rather than keep looking for solutions in other people's threads. My laptop has been freezing up very randomly since Christmas break, and I've run just about the gamut of ways to fix it. It do not believe it is an application problem because its happening in safe mode even.
What happens is I can be doing nearly anything and the screen will flicker a little bit, a little flashing, and as soon as this starts, everything is frozen, even caps lock is unresponsive. It can happen while surfing the web, while playing games, during start up, just after start up, you name it. I think we can eliminate it being the video card because with the driver uninstall, the problem still happens.
It also doesn't seem to be a problem with CPU because the usage seems to be low when this happens. EDIT: It's definitely not the CPU: I was just observing it while it happened and it was at a measly 4% usage while I was just sitting doing nothing.
Event viewer is of little help, I tried to uninstall several applications that had been running concurrently with the shut downs, to no avail.
I'll attach my dxdiag
The computer is an ASUS brand G60vx series notebook. I'm running Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit. I think it will also help to mention that this computer is nearing its 2nd birthday, and I'm highly suspect of the age being a factor. I forgot to mention, also what happens is that the sound playing will become warped and degenerate into a buzzing crackling type noise (can't really describe it beyond that). This leads me to believe its the sound card, but I only have one thing showing up in my device manager the High Definition Audio Device.
My Win 7 ultimate has been working great since I have installed it, but few minutes ago, my laptop froze and I had to restart. I do not know how to open a dmp file, so here is the link for download > RapidShare: 1-CLICK Web hosting - Easy Filehosting.
I have a new laptop computer running Windows 7. My problem is I can't install anything I have downloaded. I am trying to install WinRar and it just isn't working.
I have a Toshiba Satellite A500 that was preinstalled with Windows 7 home premium. Went to turn it on today and got a screen that said: Windows Error recovery. Windows failed to start. A recent hardware or software change might be the cause. It then gives the option to run windows start up repair or run windows normally.
The repair option starts but ends up with a grey back ground screen and a mouse arrow on the screen. Nothing else happens after this. I tried the start Windows normally option but it gets as far as the Windows logo and no further.
The only recent change has been the addition of a new modem / router, other then that it has been business as usual with no changes.
I am running Windows 7 on a Lenovo T60 laptop. When I try to download files or programs, I constantly get a message stating that there is insufficient storage. I have run disk cleanup and defragged multiple times and deleted everything that I am comfortable deleting with no improvement.
