View 6 Replies View Relatedi already follow this guide: How to disable certain Internet Protocol version 6 (IPv6) components in Windows Vista, Windows 7 and Windows Server 2008 to disable ipv6. and already try all combination from 0xffffffff until 0x11
0xffffffff will disable ipv6, but listening port still bind to ipv6.
for example, i still can ping ::1 even though that above registry editing should "disable the ipv6". and when i do netstat -an | find "LISTEN", some ports still bind to ipv6, for example:
TCP [::]:80 [::]:0 LISTENING
TCP [::]:135 [::]:0 LISTENING
TCP [::]:443 [::]:0 LISTENING
TCP [::]:445 [::]:0 LISTENING
and so on. anyone have solution to permanently disabling ipv6? the reason why i want to rid of ipv6 listening is because it cause conflicting to my router when want to do port forwarding. i don't have any problem to port forward to other machine installing windows xp/2003. tq.
-F8 on reboot only does it for the session.
-"/bcdedit -set loadoptions ”DDISABLE_INTEGRITY_CHECKS" does not work.
-GpEdit.msc editting does not work.
Can this be done?
whenever I go into full-screen, whether it be in a game or a video, my screen(Sony TV) seems to get a bit of a shadow on everything.Like everything will have a gray outline of some sorts. If I change resolution(like going from 1920x1080 to something else and then back to 1920x1080) it becomes normal again. Changing the input of my TV also brings it back to normal.But it only happens when I go into fullscreen with something.I'm not exactly sure when this started happening though, all my drivers are also updated.So what could be causing this? It's rather annoying having to switch resolution or change the input to TV and then back to PC every time this happens.

View 9 Replies View RelatedIn the past, when client workstations were running Windows XP Pro, we could use Terminal Services Manager and take remote control over the user logged into the workstations.
Now that client workstations are upgrading over time to Windows 7 Enterprise (both x64 and x86), I cannot get remote control to work. When I open Terminal Services Manager on a Server 2008 box or Remote Desktop Services Manager on a Server 2008 R2 box and right-click, choose 'connect to Computer' and enter the IP or name of a workstation to connect to, I get 'Access is Denied'.
Every service I can think of on the client is running - remote registry, rpc, remote desktop is allowed, i can remote desktop into the machine (mstsc), no permission issues, etc. The firewall is turned off, etc. but I never get anything other than 'Access is denied'. Neither machine is running multiple monitors, both are updated as much as they can be.
Is there anyone doing this with Windows 7 workstations? There doesnt seem to be a slick alternative to this built in functionality - vnc is not close, logmein rescue is just an added cost, etc.

View 4 Replies View RelatedSome time ago I installed WinCleaner on my pc (which I had been successfully using for the previous decade on various machines) and obviously managed to damage/delete some key registry entries, as when I try to access various functions as an administrator (most notably trying to open Services) I get a message:C:Windowssystem32services.mscWindows cannot access the specified device, path or file. You may not have the appropriate permissions to access the item.I've also lost the option to change start menu/control panel etc to Classic View - the option just isn't there any more.So I tried to do a System Restore but there are no restore points and when I try to create one I get another message:The restore point could not be created for the following reason:A Volume Shadow Copy Service component encountered an unexpected error. Check the Application event log for more information. (0x80042302)I assume the problem is all connected but have no idea what to try, short of doing a "reset to factory settings" which I'm loathe to do in case anything goes wrong - if it will even work
View 6 Replies View RelatedI have an older PC (AMD Athlon II x4 630 Processor) running Windows 7 Home Prem - 64 bit. I noticed about a week ago my mouse was acting up (figured it was a bad mouse and didn't think much about it), soon afterwards I started getting that blue screen of death and it would shut down. My current virus protections is AVG, which I ran. I then ran Malewarebytes, Superantispyware and Spybot in both regular and safe mode. They seem to find a few things but nothing that really looked serious. I tried System Restore but got an error statement that it wasn't functioning correctly because of some type of Volume Shadow component problem (which I researched and turned back on to no avail).
Other symptoms are when I try going to control panel or even the microsoft update page they open but are minimized - when I try to open them larger they almost look like they open and go to the far right of my screen out of site. The reason I think it is a virus is that in safe mode the control panels opens right up - but still cant get to microsoft update page. This problem seems to be getting worse the last couple of days. What is weird I really don't notice much else wrong with pc. I can still go online without a problem, home page hasn't changed any and haven't noticed pc slowing down at all.
I am not able to make backup, I get message not enough free space for shadow copy? How do I resolve this? I understand some kind of USN journal is created on System reserved partion. This hidden partition was created when I installed and now I have only 38Mb free out of 100Mb. As I understand this has been an Issue for more than a year, and still Microsoft has not resolved?

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have a Windows 7 Home premium x64 OS and it has been giving me more and more problems. I've ran virus scan on AVG and Windows security and came up with nothing. I've tried msconfig and disabling all non-windows services from starting and still nothing has worked! Windows Live ID Sign in use to start after I had to manually start it (even though it was set for automatic), and now it won't even start at all, giving me the error it didn't respond in a timely fashion. My windows task manager doesn't respond, and my system restore gives me an error saying "A volume shadow copy service component encountered an unexpected error".
The problem seemed to start when my web browser would start to not load pages. Then my printer wouldn't work because the "printer spool" service wouldn't start, then of course the hardware and devices in the control panel wouldn't load. After resolving that by manually starting the bluetooth service, the Task Manager stopped working, and the "printer spool" service failed and would not stay started. My start up speed has seemed to have hit a brick wall as well, I've ran start-up repair to no avail. This is my build as copied from newegg.com:

This computer was quick as can be when I built it, and had had no problem with it whatsoever until now. I can't think of any program that may be messing with it, I've gone through my installed programs and startup programs and nothing to me is out of the ordinary.
I have a problem when I try to delete some folders from "C:UsersMYUSER". Here it's a cap from that folder: I want to delete folders like Search, Contacts, Favourites and Tracing, but when I turn on my computer appears again.

I set a restore point 2 days ago manually. Today I have found it has been deleted and I may have to reformat because of this.I set my drive to hold 1.15gb in size for restore points. The current restore point is a mere 200mb yet it STILL decided to delete the old ones. Previously I've checked only to find 0 restore points despite the settings being adequate.It seems restore points simply don't work on my OS. They show up for a handful of hours and are automatically deleted (even the manually made ones).

I've spent hours trying so many solutions from forums, I can't even keep track. I even used a registry hack the disables libraries entirely and the files *still* show up.It gets worse...Files that are completely *deleted* from my computer show up in the folder as viewed on the TV, though they don't play.Files that have been *renamed and moved to non-shared, non-library folders* will still play on the TV!I also did a total reset on the TV back to factory defaults, in case it had some sort of cache. Lifecam was in Startup so I disabled that but still have the problem; I checked it hadn't re-inserted itself in Startup - it hasn't.The change may have occurred after I opened the LifeCam's own application to check lighting for the video image.
