i have a lenovo laptop in one place, so I use external monitor. is there any way ,when my child tries to unplug the external monitor, the laptop screen not to work? i want to disable permanently the laptop screen.

0xffffffff will disable ipv6, but listening port still bind to ipv6.
for example, i still can ping ::1 even though that above registry editing should "disable the ipv6". and when i do netstat -an | find "LISTEN", some ports still bind to ipv6, for example:
TCP [::]:80 [::]:0 LISTENING
TCP [::]:135 [::]:0 LISTENING
TCP [::]:443 [::]:0 LISTENING
TCP [::]:445 [::]:0 LISTENING
and so on. anyone have solution to permanently disabling ipv6? the reason why i want to rid of ipv6 listening is because it cause conflicting to my router when want to do port forwarding. i don't have any problem to port forward to other machine installing windows xp/2003. tq.
-F8 on reboot only does it for the session.
-"/bcdedit -set loadoptions ”DDISABLE_INTEGRITY_CHECKS" does not work.
-GpEdit.msc editting does not work.

I've a Sony Bravia 40" LCD connected via HDMI to my nvidia card HTPC running Windows 7 Home Premium.
Every time I change the input selection on Sony TV from AV5 where is HTPC to TV tuner windows detects the monitor as unpluged dissabling it and when I come back to AV5 the windows detects the monitor again (sounds the typical PnP device detection sound) showing windows desktop but blinking with black screens two or three times, I suposse looking for best resolution.
Is there any way to disable this monitor detection?

MY case has a 7" screen that is NOT hdcp compatible. So to watch bluray's (TMT5) I have to disable it. I usually do this through the screen resolution property page. Is there a quick way to toggle this? Will turning off the 2nd monitor, turn off Imon?

So I went to control panel -->device manager-->mice and other pointing devices-->driver but the disable button was disable too.
I should disable my touchpad because I have to type my thesis and the touchpad is a big problem for me.
By mistake i clickd start->hibernate in Windows 7 OS. Now when i press the power on button it shows blue light but screen is black as if it is sill in sleep. and after 10sec power becomes off automatically.

If I need to type for a second, when I open the laptop it automatically changes from the external display to the laptop display. This sometimes crashes certain applications and games. I can get it to show on the monitor, keyboard works, but I cant close the laptop without it going to sleep. I have gone into the control panel to change the power settings on what to do when the lid closes but it is greyed out. I am using the admin account but still cant change anything. View 2 Replies View RelatedI recently got a 24" 1920 x 1080 external LCD monitor for my laptop. It's awesome. I've been using laptops only for many years and now I'm very sorry I waited so long before getting one. But, on to my issue:
I want to only use the external monitor and keep the laptop screen turned off. The problem is that when I resume from sleep sometimes, but not always, the laptop display comes back on showing only the desktop wallpaper. So I then have to hit the windows key plus "p" (for projector) and select projector to get the laptop display turned off again.
I know how to select the external monitor in Windows 7. Basically, one goes to screen resolution from the desktop right click context menu and make the proper selection under multiple monitors (see screenshot below).
But windows 7 seems to forget this setting sometimes and it's a mild annoyance to have to check the laptop monitor and if it's on, hit the windows key plus "p" each time (or almost each time).
So I'm wondering if there's some way to force windows 7 to remember to use only the external monitor and keep the laptop monitor off until I tell it otherwise? I suppose this issue is likely due to some bug in one of my drivers but I am using all the latest drivers.
I have windows 7 ,recieved a laptop that believes it has a second monitor. as a result, I have no brightness controls on the monitor and makes it impossible to use for a long time. Also, the touchpad has no controls.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have had a dual monitor setup with my laptop(Inspiron 1545 with GM45 Intel Card) extending to a regular LCD screen. It worked for two months and until recently has stopped working.I have uninstalled, reinstalled, uninstalled, reinstalled the newest drivers, changed the cables(power supply and VGA), system restored back a month to when it was working, and changed the power outlet.This originally worked flawlessly and now the laptop is not recognizing any device I attach via the VGA output. I have plugged the laptop into another monitor with no avail as well. I find it hard to believe that this would stop working one day with no notice or any problems. I have also tried attaching a projector that had worked for over a year with the laptop and have gotten nothing.
I receive a black screen as if to say this something being outputted, but nothing is displayed. Both windows screen resolution and the intel GUI both do not recognize another device. [code]
