View 1 Replies View RelatedI have an AOC 936swa LCD monitor and want to try and run my PS3 through it. The input into the monitor is via D-Sub and USB. I made the schoolboy error of thinking it was a DVI and buying an HDMI to DVI cable...face-to-palm moment there!
Is there an HDMI to D-Sub cable? I can't imagine the USB will be able to carry it. The output from from the PS3 is bog standard.
The card didn't come with a dvi vga adapter and do i need one to use the graphics card with the monitor?
View 4 Replies View RelatedI recently purchased an HP Omni 120; it doesn't have a VGA port but plenty of USB ports, and I found a TRENDnet USB/VGA KVM cable and I attempted to attach it to my computer an external monitor, but an error message popped up saying that it doesn't recognize the driver.
I learned that KVM is hooking up multiple computers with the same keyboard and mouse, but I wanted to know if I could use this cable for simply extending my display onto a second monitor without purchasing a KVM switch -- is there a driver or alternate method that would work? Or is there recommendations for a good, cheap USB/VGA cord?
ESS v4 is asking permission if i should allow Resource monitor to connect to a remote computer, is this like MS gathering system performance information ?
View 3 Replies View RelatedI have a Dell Inspiron 1525 that I purchased in the USA, brought to the UK - had hard drive failure; which was replaced and then had Windows 7 OS installed (and now the laptop thinks it's a UK laptop too - ie: the @ symbol has moved - etc)... None of this has been a problem until recently when I moved back to the USA. I have a TV that I want to hook this laptop up to, so that we can view my video files on a bigger screen - but I've found that my laptop is displaying in PAL format - while the TV must have it in NTSC. I've been searching around and I cannot seem to find out where to change that over.... Should I put in an American DVD into the dvd player and switch regions?

View 8 Replies View RelatedI've been trying to connect my laptop to a HDTV. I have the required (I think) cable, it connects well to both laptop and TV, I can see the image on the TV screen, but the image on the TV is small and centered. It's probably twice as small as the screen itself. I want to stretch it, but I don't know how. I'm really not sure that the problem is the laptop and not the TV itself, though.I don't know what specifics to include. I can add anything that might be required The TV is 1080p, maximum resolution on the laptop is 720p. I tried connecting the cable to all 4 HD slots in the TV and some give different results. Some are more stretched than others, but not full screen. I tried changing the TV option

Then, I tried to connect/unconnect the card, change the power specification, try all the anti viruses I've got and make a "restauration" at a date before the update and so the issue.

On my network (wireless), my Desktop can find and use everything that is on my Laptop computer.
When I try to find or map out the Desktop from the Laptop, the Laptop cannot see my desktop at all (eg in the Network "explorer-type" window in Windows 7) .
I've checked my firewall settings, and my sharing properties on both computers, but I think I missing some setting somewhere that will let me connect from the Laptop to the Desktop (so that I can use my Desktop printer).

Have my modem connected to a switch and my desktop and laptop connected to the switch. The internet works flawlessly on my desktop with no problems at all. The laptop is connecting to the network but is not connecting to the internet. It tells me " 'Local Area Connection' not a valid ip configuration."
I have tried using the flushDNS script but it doesn't work. It hangs up on ipconfig /renew, gives me an error, and then completes the rest. The error is "unable to connect to your DHCP server"

View 5 Replies View RelatedI have had a Acer Aspire 5742-6814 for a month or so now. Yesterday it suddenly would not connect to the wireless network in my apartment and won't connect to a wired network either. It says that the wireless drivers are up to date and it just stopped working out of nowhere. I tried connecting to my school wireless network and that would not work either. I have tried some of the solutions that I have seen including: Resetting modem in apartment. Checking "Connect even if network is not broadcasting its name (SSID)" (which seemed to work for some people with similar problems). I really have no idea what is wrong or if it some kind of hardware issue. I can provide any further details.

One network was recently upgraded to another router and the other network router was reset. I am at the location where the router was reset. My available networks are showing and are in excellent strength but whenever I hit "connect",nothing happens.I don't even get a prompt to enter the passcode. I even tried to connect at my local library's wifi with no such luck. When I run diagnostics it keeps saying "None of the networks you have previously connected to are in range"??
