View 1 RepliesI recently switched out an older Netgear router for the Netgear WNDR3300. I have a 1TB WD MyBookWorld connected via ethernet to the router. Ever since the router switch I have been having two specifice issues:While uploading videos to Facebook, the video will upload anywhere from several MB up to over 100 MB, then stall, saying it's still uploading but trust me, it isn't. I can copy files/folders from the networked hard drive to my computer flawlessly, but when I try to copy files/folders from my computer to the networked hard drive, it copies anywhere from a few seconds to maybe a couple minutes then stalls out, giving the error message: "Network Error. There was a problem accessing [\SERVERFOLDER]... Make sure you are connected to the network and try again." with Retry, Skip and Cancel. When cancel is pressed it gives: "An unexpected error is keeping you from copying the file. If you continue to receive this error, you can use the error code to search for help with this problem. Error 0x8007003B: An unexpected network error occurred.
Other useful information: on the new router, the WNDR3300, if I use WEP security, I can copy files/folders to the hard drive, no problem. However if I try to use WPA/WPA2, the abovementioned problems occur. I would use WEP and just forget the hassle, but WPA2 is much faster and more secure, so I really want to get this fixed.I also believe the two problems are somehow related, considering they both involve working for a few seconds to a few minutes, then stalling and failing. Could this be somekind of authentication or something to do with WPA/WPA2 that I'm doing wrong?
I have had my vista pc and my windows 7 (basic) net book setup to let me share files (through an Netgear DG834PN Route) for around 18 months with no problems.
However as of 3 days ago I can no longer do this and non of the network tools can fined or solve the problem. I can uses the internet though my rooter, see my vista pc on the network as well as the media streaming (windows one) thing.
I can also access my net book hard drive from my pc no problem and transfer/delete files as well?
When I do try to connect the following error message is given: "Error code: 0x80070035 The network path was not found"
P.s. I know windows 7 basic has not create home group ability, but it worked with the one I made on vista. I can not afford to upgrade my copy of windows 7 so that is totally out of the question.
Yesterday I installed the final version of Windows 7 Professional 64-bit (from MSDNAA) on my computer which was previously running Vista Home Premium 32-bit. On Vista, the network worked wonderfully, but once Windows 7 was fully installed, the computer can't even find any networks. I rebooted and ran Windows Vista in safe mode, and, sure enough, the internet was working and everything.
I took a look at the device manager in Vista, and it listed NVIDIA nForce 10/100 Mbps Ethernet and Linksys wireless G PCI adapter under my network adapters. (Oddly, when I run device manager in Windows 7, it only lists NVIDIA nForce Networking Controller under network adapters.)
I thought for sure it was just a driver error, so I merely went on the laptop, downloaded Driver Robot, put it on my computer running Windows 7, ran the export scan, put the result scan on a flash drive, and downloaded the driver for the network adapter that it told me to. Then I put the driver setup on the flash drive, and copy it onto my computer with Windows 7. First, it told me that the file was corrupted, but after many tries, it finally worked. I updated my network adapter drivers.
Unfortunately, I still can't find any networks.
EDIT: I just looked at my device manager in Windows 7 again. Under "Other devices," it lists "Network Controller" with a yellow exclamation point.
when I turned on my computer this morning the computer didn't start the antivirus program, and I can got to system repair, I cant start Computer management I get an error message
The Error message says.
"Network Error
Windows cannot access C:Windowssystem32compmgmt.msc
Check the spelling of the name. Otherwise, there might be a problem with your network. To try to identify and resolve network problems, click Diagnose.
In a network with 10 computers, the PC-2 can access everyone but the PC-5. All other computers can access each other and PC-5 can also access everyone else.
Where is the bug? The PC-2 has the bug right? Why is it only one PC that the PC-2 cannot access?
Basic routines are checked I think: All running windows 7 All having same network sharing settings, Network discovery ON (both home and public) File sharing ON (both home and public) Public folder sharing ON (both home and public) Password OFF (both home and public)
Error message say: "Check the spelling of the name." (?!?!)
So after installing windows 7 the other day, everything seemed to be working properly. I was able to access all of my network shares to my file server, and other machines in the house.
Even yesterday this all worked as normal. But now today I am unable to communicate with any other pc in the house. either by pc-name or ip-address. I receive the error 0x80070043: The network name cannot be found.
From a command window, I am able to ping all machines I have tested to, by IP address, and by hostname.
Starting a virtual XP session within Windows 7, I am able to browse to the shares in the XP session.
In the network section, no PCs are visible excluding the local PC. Attempting to browse to the local PC via the network results in the error message "The specified network provider name is invalid".
All PCs are in the workgroup "WORKGROUP"
Browsing around the network via my laptop functions with no issues.
Browsing the the windows 7 PC from other pcs works without issue.
Any suggestions would be incredibly helpful.
I have a small home network connecting 2 PC's and a NAS drive. The network is hard wired using CAT 5 and there is also a wireless AP for the Wii console. When both PC's used XP either could access (read and write) to the NAS which is mainly used to store digital photos. Since upgrading one PC to Windows 7 I cannot access the NAS from this PC.
I can see the drive and can logon via web brwoser to conduct maintenance but cannot read or write using Windows Explorer. I always get the Netwrok Error 1208 statement. I suspect it is to do with new security protocols in Windows 7 not talking to older Samba software. Could someone offer some help please ?

while trying to update network adapter drivers on my gf's pc i had an error.
now i cant get it online.
ive tried using asus latest driver but it fails.
ive also tried a few older drivers.
but says not compatable with win 7
if i do a win 7 repair. will it reinstall the network adapter.
or do i need to do a full format?
I am new to Windows 7, and am unable as yet to get my documents to print from any program. I have installed multiple printers (different manufacturers) in an attempt to find something compatible, but I believe my problem to be tied to the network.
I am running Windows 7 64 bit, with Office 2007. I have installed a Xerox Phaser 6360 DN printer via the network at work. The printer is connected, as I can open the properties and see that the yellow toner is low. Newest/compatible driver from Xerox website is installed; yet whenever I send a document (or test page) to the printer, in the status window after a few minutes the status changes from "Printing" to "Error - Printing".

View 8 Replies View RelatedI was planning on doing some college work during the weekend, but when I went to switch my laptop on it wouldn't connect to my hub. I have Windows 7 and my network connection symbol in the bottom right corner had a yellow star over it saying there wasn't limited access and the connection was unsuccessful. After restarting my hub and laptop, then trying a neighbours hub it was still unsuccessful. I have used the troubleshoot settings and the response says I have either a problem with the driver for the Wireless Network Connection adapter, or the Local Area Connection adapter. I am unsure on what this means and how to fix it

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a small problem at work with my new printer. I have 11 computers in a classroom, the printer is connected to the teacher's computer (mine, named DELL00). However, I am unable to add the printer on any other computer in classroom, usually with error 0x00000002
All computers have admin account named Teacher, and all except the Teacher's computer have one standard account named Student. Adding the printer on admin account went without single problem on every computer, but the pinter does not show on the Student account. When I try to add the printer from Student account, I get error 0x00000002
I am adding the printer through Devices & Printers -> Add Printer -> Network Printer -> Not in list -> \DELL00LaserJet-P1102. This method worked on the admin account without problem,s but not on the student account.
I have a home network with 4 computers; 3 wireless, 1 Ethernet. When they were all XP, things were working fine. Now 2 of the wireless systems have been upgraded to Windows 7 with the "family Pack" retail upgrade.
I believe I have made all the proper permissions and security policies, but this is not working. The Windows 7 system can access the XP system folders. but the XP systems can see the Windows 7 system but get an access violation error.
I've tried some of the suggestions in other thread, no joy. I turned off the McAfee firewall, but that doesn't help.
XP doesn't know anything about "Homegroups" I have a work group name and its set on all systems,

i need to share files between a XP Desktop and a Laptop that has Windows 7.
i have followed a lot of guides and tips by now but i cannot get it to work!
on my laptop, it recognizes the XP computer, but fails to open it
it says i have the naming wrong, yet i know it is correct.
diagnose doesn't help and Pinging the ip address says request timed out 4 times, thne something about 100% packet loss.
on the xp computer side, it recognizes my laptop and can access files
as for network settings, it should be all correct cause i followed this guide that i found on a post by a Microsoft worker (i think).
i just cannot figure out what is wrong.
and the error is 0x80070035
my purpose for this is to access Desktop and the printer connected to it
as well as the shared documents folder,..
When I select network I can see the other computers on the nework but when I click on any of them but my own I get an error " Check the spelling of the name. Otherwise, there might be problem with your network Error code 0x80070035 the network path not found" The computer is seeing them but says the path name is wrong. The others are vista machines and they all can see and access this machine. Any help would be great also I have no problem accessing the internet only the local computers I can't access.

View 9 Replies View Relatedi use the standard win7 wi-fi connection manager. when i launch the system, the wi-fi card gets connected to the router and i can browse the internet. however, the icon of the manager shows the signal strength bars with a blue circle (the circle that indicates loading sth everywhere else in windows) which usually tells me that it is still connecting to the network. the circle doesn't spin, it's just stuck. clicking on the icon doesn't bring up the available network list, so it just doesn't respond.also, the system cannot play sounds. well, it surely cannot play sound from the internet, like grooveshark or Internet. music on grooveshark doesn't even start, Internet videos go silent. actually i haven't tested if it cannot play sth e.g. from itunes, but one time when i wanted to restart the computer short after startup, it showed that explorer is not responding, with the task "playing the log out tune" currently being performed, so maybe the same thing with "offline" sounds...then, after some time (usually it's 10-20 minutes after the i turn on the computer) a notification window is shown telling me that a program needs my action and when i accept it, the message appears about c:windowssystem32spoolsv.exe experiencing a runtime error and requesting the runtime to terminate it, or sth like this - so just the standard spoolsv.exe error message. and then... voila! the wi-fi icon shows just plain signal strtength bars and responds to my actions, and i can play sounds.the information that i use a lexmark x4975 wi-fi printer might be of some significance. i don't remember now exactly (and don't have any way to check it) but i'm nearly sure that the situation with the printer is quite similar - before the error i can't use it, and after - i can.

In the details it said the diagnostic file was 'restricted'.I searched around for answers and found a suggestion to run 'sfc/scannow' in an elevated command prompt. (in the 2 year life of my Sony Vaio I don't recall it ever working before). The problem: when I next turn on my computer after it has been shut down, the Windows Network Diagnostics tool has stopped working again - unless I run 'sfc/scannow' - then it runs fine. I have Win 7 on two of my machines, one is 32bit and the one I am using at the moment is 64bit. I have a rather unusual problem in that I can access my Router in FF on the 32bit machine (IE as well) but on the 64bit, Nothing
When I enter the IP address for my Router it just sits there and then comes up with a Page Load Error? this happens also in IE8. I have turned OFF the firewall, all the settings are the same in both machines, except the IP adress of course .

2 Laptops connected via Wireless (Linksys wrg54g)

Laptop A is configured to Backup using the Windows 7 Backup to the Desktop. This works fine.
Laptop B however when trying to backup to the desktop I get an error message after I have selected the Drive in the setup screen and I've entered my username/password credentials

Both laptops for all intents and purposes are identical.
I've downloaded the newest installation package several times and changed even between Home and Pro packages. Error stays the same, and as far as I've found out it's due to a network error. Has anyone else experienced the problem?

For some reason I am not able to transfer large files to my Windows Home Server (home build). The file will start to transfer then just stop and error out.
The error message says Network Error: There is a problem accessing serverfolder.
This is on a wired connection so I dont know why it would just be dropping the connection. I can still surf the internet fine during this time.
Realtek RTL8169/8100 network cart, cat5e cable, 10/100 netgear 24 port unmanaged switch, WRT54GL router(tomato firmware). NICs are set to auto negotiate.
Any ideas what could be causing this?

I have a Desktop computer with Windows 7 (32 bit) and a laptop with Windows 7 (64 bit). I'm trying to set up a network printer, so I can print from my laptop using my desktop computeer printer. I've set up my wireless computer which uses Windows Xp just fine, and can print from that computer. But when I try to add a network printer on my laptop, as it's finishing installation, an error message pops up saying "cannot connect to printer" error code 0x0000000d. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated. Is it possible to set up a 64 bit with a 32 bit computer?
