Error When Trying To Connect To Network Drive?
Apr 21, 2011
Getting an error when trying to connect to a network drive 'An error occured while re-connecting.No more connections can be made to this remote computer at this time because there are already as many connections as the computer can accept'Now this has been setup with a local folder on the server shared and is being mapped to 20 people on the network.I looked under advanced permissions and can see max allowed connections set to 20, there are 19 people in the company but the problem lies that some bring in their laptops and attempt to connect to to the existing shares as well which is obviously causing problems as I can only allow max '20' connections to this mapped folder.

I have a small-business network set up, which is basically just a shared drive. The server is running Windows NT, and when I try to connect to it, my laptop (running Windows 7) asks for a username and password. I've entered the default ones for the router, and I don't know of any other password protections on the network. Any ideas?

Can anyone advise how I would go about fixing this. I am trying to connect to a network (I have a dell running on windows 7) and it keeps telling me that windows is unable to connect to the network-this is before I can even enter the security key. I know it is not a problem with the wireless because other people are able to connect to it fine.

I have just set up a new ASUS zenbook prime. I set up the wireless network 2 nights ago and had no problems. I then installed Microsoft Office 2010 and the problems started. I started getting errors about ATK0100 driver missing and the wireless function stopped working. I re-installed the ATK0100 driver and that stoppped that error message. I then thought that the wireless adapter may have also been affected by the Offce install so I removed then re-installed that one (Intel Centrino(R) Advanced-N 6235). I also unistalled Office but still hasn't fixed the problem. I can connect via a 4G USB wireless adapter but can't connect to my home wireless modem. I have 2 other laptops (windows7 and vista) accessing the wireless modem. When I try to connect the error is "no network access"" and "Windows was unable to connect to "SSID"". I have tried removing the wireless network and adding it again but to no avail. I have also used the troubleshooter but it can't find anything wrong either. The wireless function is on and I'm not sure what else to try? I have trawled through lots of forums and it seems like quite a few people have the same problem but I haven't yet found an answer.

how do I find out my network password? or is there some other way to connect?I have been able to connect two PC's before with my friends Vista laptop and we usually just match up ip addresses and he puts in the network password and it works.I did the same thing with the windows 7 laptop and i can get to the network password stage, at which I do not know the password. All I know is that it isn't my log in password, my laptop's log in password, or my friends laptop password.

New Windows 7 Ultimate PC cannot connect to my home network or the internet for around 15-20 mins and then it will suddenly work. Windows reports 'No connections are available' and Occasionally jumps to 'identifying network' then back to 'No connections are available' until it gets a connection. Once connected everything works perfectly until i reboot the machine. The network connection is fine as other computers can connect quickly without problems through the same cable.

I have a hidden network but I have it so it auto-connects. But the problem is that whenever I log in it doesn't auto-connect. So I go in the list of networks, click "Other Network" and type in my SSID. It says it's connecting but then it says there was a problem connecting. So I troubleshoot and it troubleshoots and when its done it says there is a problem with my wireless adapter or access point and it fixed it and I have internet.

I have having recurring issues with either my browser or my network. Whenever I go to load a page, it tells me the dns cannot be found, which is strange because vuze and xbox live still work fine.I have this issue with any browser I've tried (IE, FF, GC; all most recent as far as I'm aware). I've tried restarting my router, adjusting the connection settings, winsock reset, reconnecting, and none of it seems to help.

Originally, i had one network running under a Dir-665 router where all the computers under that could connect to the printer (HPPrintPC) on the computer (which is connected to the router. After moving to uverse, i have two networks, the one above and now the 2wire network due to uverse. The computer with the printer is connected to the 2wire network, and all the other computers are connected to the Dir-655 network. The computers on the Dir-655 Network can't connect to the printer on the 2wire network but can ping the computer it is connected to.

I have plugged in my network cables, there is still a red cross on my network connection. I have tried the following:
1) change the cable
2) reinstall the network driver
LAN and wireless cannot work. Then, I go into Administrative Tools-> Services.I found that the Service "Network Location Awareness" is missing, I think this causes the problem.I want to ask, how can I add back this service to Services?

I have a LAN and Homegroup and my wife's and my computer are connect. I also have a BluRay player connected via Ethernet cable to my gateway (cable modem + router), but I cannot see it (I can play Netflix movies on it, though). How can I add the BluRay to my homegroup so that I can play music from my computer to it (or rather to my amplifier via the BluRay)?

I have 3 computers all running 64bit Windows Home premium all have 802.11n cards. 2 have no problem connecting to the wireless network the 3rd can see the network but won't connect or has the dreaded yellow exclamation mark with limited connectivity.
This seems to be a windows issue but not sure. When I look at the wireless profile in windows it says the security is WEP but the router is set up as WPA-2. I have tried changing the setting in Windows to WPA-2 but that then generates another error in the network discovery window saying the settings are not correct or something to that effect.
1) I have reinstalled the driver didn't work.
2) I have removed the security altogether didn't work.
3) reset the router didn't work (Although as stated earlier the other 2 computers connect with no problems)
4) Deleted wireless profile and started again didn't work.
The following worked untill I restarted the computer but would not after that even if I applied the same steps.
1) Assigned a static IP - This worked but once I restarted the computer it would no longer connect. Tired different IP address from 192.168.1-149. No joy
2)Copied the network profile from both the other machines same result as #1.

I have just set up a wireless network, and my phone (android) can connect to it fine with the correct wep key, but my laptop (windows 7) cannot. it sees the network but when I try to connect it does not ask for a wep key, it just tells me it cannot connect. I have tried going into the 'network and sharing center' and connecting manually but no dice.

I have VPN service running on my Linksys DD-WRT router at home, so I can VPN back into my home network when using unsecured wireless internet on travel. I also have remote desktop port forwarding to my home machine if I want to just remote desktop in without using the VPN. However, often times I will VPN in, then remote desktop to my machine. Lately, I can VPN in, but can't see any other machines on the network so remote desktop to the machine's 192.168.x.x address on the local network doesn't work. I used to be able to do this and I'm not sure what has changed. The home machine runs Windows 7 and the laptop I use on the road for VPN'ing back in runs Windows XP. why after I VPN in to the home network I can't see any other machines on the network anymore? I have a folder shared on the home machine that I'd like to map to my laptop once I've VPN'ed in but can't do that either since it can't see the machine.
I've got all the sharing options enabled on the Windows 7 machine as well as the XP machine. Network discovery is turned on as well. No clue what has happened with this. The DHCP pool is 192.168.1.2-150 and the VPN pool consists of only 2 addresses of 192.168.1.160 and 192.168.1.161.
