I have plugged in my network cables, there is still a red cross on my network connection. I have tried the following:
1) change the cable
2) reinstall the network driver
LAN and wireless cannot work.Then, I go into Administrative Tools-> Services.I found that the Service "Network Location Awareness" is missing, I think this causes the problem.I want to ask, how can I add back this service to Services?

These devices are all looking very similar.But the buttons are different. Is there really a different?And what could be a problem of these Converters?
I didn't find Information about how the signal is converted, What if I have a high resolution? And use the VGA out from the Adapter,Can the analogue signal send to the TV be scaled correct?Or is there any other good converter Adapter?

Is it posible to have a external USB Audio-Card with different Audio channels.So that I can assign Application A to one output channel and Application B to another?
eg.: The Media player to the Channel which is feeding the HiFi- equipment,while the VoIP Application is assigned to a second channel feeding the Head Set.But if needed signing all channels to the media Player (to get 4.1 Sound)
Can anyone advise how I would go about fixing this. I am trying to connect to a network (I have a dell running on windows 7) and it keeps telling me that windows is unable to connect to the network-this is before I can even enter the security key. I know it is not a problem with the wireless because other people are able to connect to it fine.

This was after people painstakenly went through all the trouble shooters, turned off and restarted their firewalls and antivirus, rebooted and rebooted, reset and reset over and over again, checked all their settings and did everything right and still could not resolve their problem.
There is a likely resolution for this problem - at least it worked for me. It took me nearly a week to find this solution.Occasionally, when running the homegroup troubleshooter, I got the message that the time was not the same on all the network computers. I went around and checked all the computers and the time was the same - so why the message?However when I went to the router, I found that daylight savings was not turned on and the time the router was keeping was an hour different from everything else. Low and behold when I corrected the time on the router all the connection problems were resolved on the notebooks.

Windows reports 'No connections are available' and Occasionally jumps to 'identifying network' then back to 'No connections are available' until it gets a connection. Once connected everything works perfectly until i reboot the machine. The network connection is fine as other computers can connect quickly without problems through the same cable.

Whenever I go to load a page, it tells me the dns cannot be found, which is strange because vuze and xbox live still work fine.I have this issue with any browser I've tried (IE, FF, GC; all most recent as far as I'm aware). I also have a BluRay player connected via Ethernet cable to my gateway (cable modem + router), but I cannot see it (I can play Netflix movies on it, though). How can I add the BluRay to my homegroup so that I can play music from my computer to it (or rather to my amplifier via the BluRay)?
View 6 Replies View RelatedI have 3 computers all running 64bit Windows Home premium all have 802.11n cards. 2 have no problem connecting to the wireless network the 3rd can see the network but won't connect or has the dreaded yellow exclamation mark with limited connectivity.
This seems to be a windows issue but not sure. When I look at the wireless profile in windows it says the security is WEP but the router is set up as WPA-2. I have tried changing the setting in Windows to WPA-2 but that then generates another error in the network discovery window saying the settings are not correct or something to that effect.
1) I have reinstalled the driver didn't work.
2) I have removed the security altogether didn't work.
3) reset the router didn't work (Although as stated earlier the other 2 computers connect with no problems)
4) Deleted wireless profile and started again didn't work.
The following worked untill I restarted the computer but would not after that even if I applied the same steps.
1) Assigned a static IP - This worked but once I restarted the computer it would no longer connect. Tired different IP address from 192.168.1-149. No joy
2)Copied the network profile from both the other machines same result as #1.
I have been using windows 7 pto and xp pro on my laptop and desktop respectively. It was connected in same network from very beginning. I was in same workgroup. But as I reformatted my laptop cpl of days back I needed to connect it again with my xp desktop. since then I am not able to do so. Have been tried almost everything. I am in a same workgroup also have run the network wizard from xp. But nothing working. But just few hours ago i uninstalled few drivers (IPv6 related , not sure) while trying to connect from device manager.

I also have remote desktop port forwarding to my home machine if I want to just remote desktop in without using the VPN. However, often times I will VPN in, then remote desktop to my machine. Lately, I can VPN in, but can't see any other machines on the network so remote desktop to the machine's 192.168.x.x address on the local network doesn't work. I used to be able to do this and I'm not sure what has changed. The home machine runs Windows 7 and the laptop I use on the road for VPN'ing back in runs Windows XP. why after I VPN in to the home network I can't see any other machines on the network anymore? I have a folder shared on the home machine that I'd like to map to my laptop once I've VPN'ed in but can't do that either since it can't see the machine.
I've got all the sharing options enabled on the Windows 7 machine as well as the XP machine. Network discovery is turned on as well. No clue what has happened with this. The DHCP pool is 192.168.1.2-150 and the VPN pool consists of only 2 addresses of 192.168.1.160 and 192.168.1.161.
Each time i try to connect to a pc on my work network , a message is displayed "You dont have permission to access \DINA-PC. contact your network administrator to request access".
1- i can access all other pc's on the same network
2- other pc's on the same network can access \DINA-pc
3- Both DINA-PC and mine are allowing network discovery and file sharing and password protected sharing is off.
4- \DINA-PC can access my pc

Other people on this network seem to connect fine (although they have had issues to) but I cant. I have 3 devices, all of which cant connect. On top of this, when i restart the computer or disconnect and reconnect adapter, I get internet access for about 20 seconds, enough time to load a google search or one webpage. however inevitably it always returns to the no internet access status. I have tried numerous fixs including reseting winsocks, using a new adapter, clearing browser history, changeing to static ip and changing back to automatically obtained one.
