When streaming Netflix, my computer is registering as a new device each time I play a movie. The Device ID is different when I check on all my registered devices (the only device that uses my account is my one computer). I have not changed any settings, reinstalled Windows, or made any drastic changes in the system. I do not use a router and am using Cox Communications as my ISP.

View 1 Replies View RelatedFor the last week or so, I have been unable to watch Netflix videos without constant freezing and the sound popping and buzzing (after a minute or two it continues playing). I'm not sure whether or not this started before or after I uninstalled/reinstalled my internet drivers, (midterms stopped my video viewing cold) but they shouldn't be related, should they? Sometimes after this error, I get a popup message that says my NVIDA graphics card stopped working. (I havent been able to capture the exact wording.) I was going to try un/reinstalling the graphics card, but when I went to, I found I wasn't sure what to do. Do I do it to "NVIDIA GeForce G210M" under display adapters, or "NVIDIA High Definition Audio" under Sound, video and game controllers. In addition, "NVIDIA High Definition Audio" is actually listed 4 times in my device manager. Which one do I uninstall? Each one says that the best driver is already installed.

I know nothing about routers so surfing simply confused me to no end. I need some suggestions to help get me on track. Not as concerned with price as I am with quality and performance. Currently have 2 computers, network printer and the wifes tv hard wired to the the 4 out ports. Running Verizon High Speed Internet Enhanced which avgs 1.3 Mbps /.35 Mbps. Really need a couple more ports. With 8 Grandkids and all their new gadgets, quality and fast wireless is a must. At times, there are 6 to 8 units tied to the internet all at one time. Currently having an issue with the wifes Netflix movies bringing the internet on the computers to a crawl but that just may be the Verizon internet which is the fastest (not fast enought for me) available in my area.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI'm running Windows 7 Professional, Asus P8Z77-V LK motherboard, and an Asus 660ti.I want to have 3 devices connected through audio out.My monitor connected via HDMI, 2.1 Logitech speakers via a headphone jack, and my Astro Mixamp also via a headphone jack.However with the current setup I can't have audio play through my monitor while the mixamp is connected. Is there a way to fix this with software? Either the Realtek HD Audio Manager or the windows audio manager? I want it to output to both so I can simply take off my headset when I want to use the monitor speakers or mute the tv when I have my headset on. I don't want to have to unplug the mixamp in order to use the monitor speakers.

I'd like to use excess space (in a separate partition) on a 2 TB internal drive to offload some backups, but I can find no way of doing this.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI recently for the first time went over my monthly data cap for broadband and looking it to it a bit more it looks like a lot of the programs my kids are using are hogging the bandwidth. I don't really want to pay for more bandwidth (as I already pay way above average as I live in a small rural village) but I don't want to restrict too much what my kids are doing. The solution to me seems to be to see if I can monitor and if possible control to some extent the data on each of the IP connected to the router if that is at all possible. I have looked at my router settings and unfortunately they do not permit anything more than traffic monitoring and there are no custom firmwares to allows additional features of any use. Is there any software that I could use to do this?

I have tried two pairs on headphones and my tv speakers all with the same results. I have looked at all the balancing end everything is set to even on both channels.

View 2 Replies View Relatedmy pc was working fine last night, switched off before bed as usual, woke up this morning, switched on and the machine would not boot up to windows from post. i accessed bios but my cd/dvd drive does not show up there, my hdd does but it will still not boot from startup :/ this message is displayed on the right hand side of boot section of bios 'A device enclosed in the parenthesis has been disabled in the corresponding type menu'. my hdd is listed in brackets, which from what i have discovered so far is not meant to be the case, lol..im not very pc literate so i'm beginning to pull my hair out over this..i can get into windows but i have to go into bios, then exit it and it boots up that way, altho it seems to boot up a lot slower. i cant for the life of me get my cd/dvd drive to show up or even work,it does however have power etc, it just doesn't register on the pc so no hope of me doing a full reinstall at mo either :/ any help with this would be much appreciated as im slowly going insane, lol last thing the pc did before shut down last night was a windows defender update, i tried restore but hasn't changed a thing

View 1 Replies View RelatedI've got 2 HD5870's in crossfire that have been running fine for about 8 months but now the fans are running very fast after boot.AMD Catalyst is reporting temps of 90-92 degrees and fan speeds of 60% when I have no applications running. I've checked Task Manager and nothing seems out of the norm ( at least checking CPU/RAM usage, that doesn't reflect on GPU usage).

View 3 Replies View RelatedI just started having these problems with my computer yesterday. But when trying to use my laptop the taskbar hasn't been working. You can move the mouse over it but the buttons will not highlight and clicking doesn't do anything. If you use Ctrl+Alt+Del and open up the task manager it temporarily fixes the problem. Also, some times the mouse doesnt work either. You can move the cursor around the computer won't register that you are clicking on something. You have to Tab through things and hit enter to click on anything. When trying to use a web browser (I have tried with Mozilla, Chrome, and IE) you can open new tabs but when you click on a tab to go back to it, it just closes the tab. This is a constant problem. Occasionally, even if you aren't clicking the icon or even anywhere near it, about 20 blank web browser pages will just start opening up and after a couple minutes the internet browser becomes unresponsive. My laptops hard drive also seems like it is in constant over drive like it is trying to load something even if you aren't doing anything.I have ran the indepth virus scan with McAfee and also ran the scan with Ad-Aware and they found nothing. I also did a System Restore going back over a month. When I booted back up again, the same problems were occurring.

My memory is awful, don't ask.Obviously I know I wouldn't be able to access the files unless the devices were connected, but the point is to make their icons show up as if they were connected even though they won't actually be of any use.

And I went back through older logs of when the same thing would happen, and those two were the ones that popped up the most. However, this also popped up from time to time:

Now, I know my way around a computer, but this internet talk is pure "gibberish" to me, for lack of a better word.
Additional information: The connection to my router is wired, not wireless. My PS3 and my laptop can stay connected/have never dropped a connection, while my desktop does it enough that it's beginning to bother me.
Does anyone know why in my Network screen, my actual machine is noted as a Media Device, whereas the other machines on my network comes under Computer?
The other machines's Workgroup is WORKGROUP, amd the actual machine's workgroup is Unidentified Network.
my brother used a mac lap top and i think he formated it to beable to copy movies to my terabite. it now does not recognise it on computer ore dvd which it did before

View 3 Replies View RelatedAlmost every time a Netflix show I'm watching in Media Center reaches the end (final frames of video), the show freezes in full screen and WMC stops responding. The video remains full screen, frozen on the last frame played, and WMC's menus/buttons do not appear. WMC does not back out of the video to the Netflix browser.I say almost because because a show has properly ended and backed out to the Neflix/WMC browser maybe once in all the episodes/movies I've watched (~10, mostly tv episodes, one movie).Typically the freeze happens before the very end of the video (during credits, sometimes chopping the show short/mid-sentence if they're talking over credits).The only way I can get out of the video and back to WMC is to alt-ctrl-del and end the Media Center process (it shows Running in task manager but eventually it comes up "Not Responding" then restarts).I've rebooted several times with the same result.I can properly back out of a running video to the Neflix browser any time prior to the lock up, but once it's frozen the only way to get out is to end the task in windows task manager.Otherwise WMC is running fine, this is just a super deal breaker since I have to go through so many steps just to watch the next episode of the series.Running Windows 7 Home Premium (64 bit), latest updates installed including those for WMC and Silverlight. It's on a computer I just started using as an HTPC so the WMC Netflix plugin is freshly installed as well. Almost no applications running in background. Dell Inspiron 1764 core i3 2.13GHz, 4GB ram, ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4330. Connected to HD TV at 720p (computer doesn't quite keep up at 1080p).Internet/Netflix connection is tried and true- have been streaming Netflix via Nintendo Wii and web browsers for years- only experiencing playback issues in WMC.
