ok folks this sounds screwy i bought a biostar n68s3b mother board after putting the thing together i hooked up my usb combo key board and mouse but the usb ports dont seem to be working but i have the laser on the mouse and the key board dont work either new board and os i cant figure it out so i am here to see
View 3 RepliesI just started having these problems with my computer yesterday. But when trying to use my laptop the taskbar hasn't been working. You can move the mouse over it but the buttons will not highlight and clicking doesn't do anything. If you use Ctrl+Alt+Del and open up the task manager it temporarily fixes the problem. Also, some times the mouse doesnt work either. You can move the cursor around the computer won't register that you are clicking on something. You have to Tab through things and hit enter to click on anything. When trying to use a web browser (I have tried with Mozilla, Chrome, and IE) you can open new tabs but when you click on a tab to go back to it, it just closes the tab. This is a constant problem. Occasionally, even if you aren't clicking the icon or even anywhere near it, about 20 blank web browser pages will just start opening up and after a couple minutes the internet browser becomes unresponsive. My laptops hard drive also seems like it is in constant over drive like it is trying to load something even if you aren't doing anything.I have ran the indepth virus scan with McAfee and also ran the scan with Ad-Aware and they found nothing. I also did a System Restore going back over a month. When I booted back up again, the same problems were occurring.

When I then (when Win7 is already up) plug the USB mouse out and 10 seconds later back in again then it is not working any more.
Another USB mouse on another Win7 computer does not have such problems.
The user is using windows 7 pro 64-bit, and Office 2010.A third party vendor came to me and asked that i register MSMAPI32.OCX and MSCAL.OCX in order to allow the sending of mail out of their program that they have on this users PC.My Question comes in the actual registering of the file on Windows 7, is this even possible?When i try i get the following error (even after manually downloading the file and placing it in system32.)msmapi32.ocx failed to load.Make sure the binary is stored at the specified path or debug it to check for problems with the binary or dependent .DLL files.The specified module could not be found.

I say this because if I press R the system goes into a reboot, however i doubt this is the problem. Also if I try and go into safe mode i am unable to go up and down?

View 1 Replies View RelatedAll of a sudden on my Windows 7 ultimate 64bit, my Windows started to run so slow to the point where I can basically not even use it. All the stats show my RAM registering fine(4gb) and I just can't find what the problem will be. In its normal mode, it will take around 20min just to get to the front screen and is super slow when it comes to opening programs as well. It seems to run safe mode fine though, with speeds that I am used to.

When it finally was done installing doing an upgrade from 32-bit vista to windows 7, the final reset loads up and i cannot use either my mouse or keyboard. I have tried pluggng them into every usb slot i have, restarted with both plugged in and not plugged in.tried the 2 other mice and another keyboad. One being a microsoft keyboard that. The keyboard does work when choosing between the different loadup options, but still doesn't work in safemode.When i try to reinstall either Vista with my bootup cd or with the copy of windows xp i have, it starts the loadup , but keeps getting the blue screen before the install even starts.
View 9 Replies View RelatedI'm running Windows 7 and when it gets to the login screen the mouse doesn't work, I *think* the keyboard works because it works in the BIOS but have no need to use the keyboard until I can use the mouse to click on one of the user names. I also can't boot into safe mode without it loading about 1/2 way and then the computer restarts. If I run startup repair it tells me "Windows cannot repair this computer automatically" and says that it's because of a AutoFailover. There was a BIOS mismatch error a few days ago but I haven't seen anything since and am not sure what that would've affected. If I boot a Windows recovery disc the mouse and keyboard work fine but not if I attempt to boot normal. This system has been running with zero issues since December.

Like other people, the temporary fix is it hit Ctrl+Alt+Delete and the problem goes away, but it always comes back.I recently installed Sw:ToR and I think there seems to be a connection, for this problem hasnt happened to me before, only after I started playing this game. In The Old Republic, sometimes the UI will bug out and whenever I go to highlight a skill or a quickslot button, I was forced to reload the UI by hitting Ctrl+U twice. That would fix the problem in the game. That exact problem that is in this game has somehow made its way onto how my PC works. I can be clicking and highlighting things just fine, but for some reason, it just won't be able to highlight anything that is pinned to my task bar or even click anything there.

When he restarted, his mouse wouldn't work the keyboard works fine. He tried unplugging and reconnecting the mouse and to resynching the mouse, restarting his computer with the mouse unplugged as well as plugged in, and switching the USB port of the connector, but was unsuccessful in getting it to work and asked for my help.Seeing that the mouse appeared to be working (and it's worked flawlessly until this morning), I repeated the steps he had taken and then removed and reinstalled the drivers in the case a driver had become corrupted when updating Windows 7. Upon reinstalling the drivers and restarting the mouse worked again for about five minutes. Five minutes later, it stopped working.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have a PC with a Gigabyte mother board and an i3 processor with 8gig ram and 2 tb hard drive. When I got the computer, it was running Windows 7 Ultimate 32 bit. Once I checked the computer, and found it was 64 bit compatible, I installed the 64 bit version. I did this as a new install. I have had nothing but problems since. I have an intelli mouse which clicks away when I try to go back or forward on a web page. If I try to check a box, it checks and then automaticaly unchecks. I have to keep clicking on it until the check stays. Some web pages won't even work, ie Bank of America Website. I can go to anything I want to except My Portfolio. It causes IE9 to shut down. When I try to open programs, it opens multiple times. I have formatted and re-installed again, but still have the same problems.

Left clicks stopped working all together, right click sometimes work, but most of time it does other things. I suspect it's some malware. I run avg, spybot and malwarebytes, which found nothing. Checked the mouse settings in control panel, and didn't fine anything strange.
View 2 Replies View Relatedmy pc was working fine last night, switched off before bed as usual, woke up this morning, switched on and the machine would not boot up to windows from post. i accessed bios but my cd/dvd drive does not show up there, my hdd does but it will still not boot from startup :/ this message is displayed on the right hand side of boot section of bios 'A device enclosed in the parenthesis has been disabled in the corresponding type menu'. my hdd is listed in brackets, which from what i have discovered so far is not meant to be the case, lol..im not very pc literate so i'm beginning to pull my hair out over this..i can get into windows but i have to go into bios, then exit it and it boots up that way, altho it seems to boot up a lot slower. i cant for the life of me get my cd/dvd drive to show up or even work,it does however have power etc, it just doesn't register on the pc so no hope of me doing a full reinstall at mo either :/ any help with this would be much appreciated as im slowly going insane, lol last thing the pc did before shut down last night was a windows defender update, i tried restore but hasn't changed a thing
View 3 Replies View RelatedI never get a blue screen, the computer never just restarts, the mouse just seems to stop moving, and this has been happening since I got my computer about 3 months ago. Whenever this happens all I can do is turn the power off and restart. Going through my event logs the only common occurrence is that right before I am turning off my computer I get "Filter Manager - Event ID - 6". This is not recorded as an error, but happens right before "Kernel Power - Event ID - 41" which I believe is when I push the power button to restart.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI bought a SSD, installed it, installed Windows 7 Ultimate. Got into windows and everything was fantastic. Installed all the windows updates, video card drivers, ect... Then rebooted the computer and lo and behold, it doesn't recognize the SSD as a valid boot device anymore. Assuming that the install corrupted somehow, I decided to run startup repair on the Windows 7 disk. However once the disk gets past "Windows is loading files" all the lights on my mouse and keyboard shut off and they stop working. However up until that point they work fine, if I go into BIOS they work no problem. I have no idea what the issue is... I literally JUST used this same disk to install windows 7 and had no issues less than 30 minutes ago... The only advice I've been able to find thus far has been to ensure that legacy USB settings are enabled, and they are. Also, if I boot into windows on a different drive that has the OS installed my mouse and keyboard work just fine in windows as well. As it stands now I cannot fix my windows install or even reinstall windows...However up until that point they work fine, if I go into BIOS they work no problem. I have no idea what the issue is..

I've checked Task Manager and nothing seems out of the norm ( at least checking CPU/RAM usage, that doesn't reflect on GPU usage).

I was able to work on the laptop with a USB mouse and the onscreen keyboardAfter going through about 10 AV software I finally got rid of all the Trojans (the scans on various AV software ran clean multiple times after removal); but the keyboard and trackpad continue to be disabled.Under the Device Manager it lists as the device as a "code 10" error.Doing some Googling I found a post that said do delete the registry entries that were labeled "UpperFilters" and "LowerFilters"; which I did and I rebooted.Now my USB mouse OR my USB keyboard won't work.I tried using a Linux Live CD and the trackpad and keyboard DOES work there no problem. I've restarted the computer, pulled the battery for a few minutes, turned legacy usb on/off, right click and uninstalled all universal USB controllers (then restarted to get windows to reinstall them), tried different mice on the problem computer, tried the mouse on a different computer (it worked), pretty much every solution i've found on the internet so far from people with similar issues of usb mice/keyboards suddenly stopping and never coming back using windows 7.I'm actually going to go to toshiba's website and check if they have any drivers that I could download/update.

The Device ID is different when I check on all my registered devices (the only device that uses my account is my one computer). I have not changed any settings, reinstalled Windows, or made any drastic changes in the system. I do not use a router and am using Cox Communications as my ISP.

I've searched the forums and found some similar situations but none of the possible solutions worked for me.
My problem is that my usb mouse is correctly recognized by Windows 7 x64 (no exclamation points in device manager) but it refuses to work, the mouse arrow doesn't moves...
The curious is that the first time I booted into Windows 7, the mouse worked but in the next boots I had to "Deactivate" and "Activate" the mouse in the device manager.
I've already uninstalled/reinstalled the mouse and connected it to the other USB ports (wich I'm sure that works because I can connect pen drives that work flawlessly).
An additional note might be that this same mouse works fine under Vista (is there a way to use Vista generic drivers in Windows 7?).
my laptop mouse isnt working on my emachines.windows 7 so now im using an actual mouse in the usb port.
