Whenever I go to open a tab in Firefox, close a program, highlight my task bar, click anywhere, windows won't register it and I cant do anything. Like other people, the temporary fix is it hit Ctrl+Alt+Delete and the problem goes away, but it always comes back.I recently installed Sw:ToR and I think there seems to be a connection, for this problem hasnt happened to me before, only after I started playing this game. In The Old Republic, sometimes the UI will bug out and whenever I go to highlight a skill or a quickslot button, I was forced to reload the UI by hitting Ctrl+U twice. That would fix the problem in the game. That exact problem that is in this game has somehow made its way onto how my PC works. I can be clicking and highlighting things just fine, but for some reason, it just won't be able to highlight anything that is pinned to my task bar or even click anything there.
I have got his bizarre problem, my mouse and keyboard just stopped working properly. The mouse pointer moves but right click does not work and if I left click on a folder the the properties pan of the folder opens up. Sometimes the left click does work, but the menu which opens up stays for a fraction of a second and disappears. But this is just half of the problem, the enter key toggles full screen mode for an application. I think something corrupted the key bindings and the mouse drivers. Is there any way to fix the problem.
I have the RAPTOR-GAMING LM2 mouse. I have a problem scrolling with the mouse wheel in any program. Scrolling fast works fine but when i scroll down one notch on the wheel sometimes it randomly scrolls up one notch. This mouse is less than a month old.
I recently did the update they windows 7 prompted me to do and now nothing seems to be working properly.- gadgets not loading ( blue square with !)- Skype not working, tried uninstalling, reinstalling,etc-Internet explorer problems- can not get to my email through my desktop and when I use Mozilla it won't let me update to the newest version.-computer running slow- cannot open some programs
I've made sure that the file typoe that I'm searching is included in the searches, I've indexed search on my computer to make sure everything is inluded but it's still not finding what I'm looking for. I'm searching for an image file(.png) that I know is on my computer(and I have several of them that start with the name that I;m searching) and none of them come up?
i have two problems. when i use internet explorer, it constantly flickers, especialy during videos.when i use google chrome it doesn't flicker but Internet freezes up?
My system is Dell OptiPlex 740, 2.50 GB RAM, Win 7 Ultimate 64bit.All of a sudden - the USB ports (all 7 of them) stopped to function roperly. Each device I plugged into the port - got recognized as 'uknown device' and doesn't function at all.One of the biggest problems that this cause me - I can't plug in the keyboard and the mice - I don't have PS/2 ports in this computer.Thing is, even out of Windows, the USB doesn't work. I'm suspecting this because the PC giving me 'Keyboard fault' everytime I restart. So I can't got to BIOS either.Right now I'm using special combination of USB hub attached to one of the ports, and the peripherals connected to the hub
having migrated from XP to W7 (never experienced Vista). Quite frequently I encounter a problem with the mouse, in which it fails to (a) bring the auto-hidden taskbar into view, and (b) properly select functions normally controlled by button clicks. Problem arises once or twice a day on average. As background info, the computer is in use pretty well all day everyday, mainly for work. I work freelance at home as an electronic designer. Being technical, I understand computers to a fair degree, from both hardware and software PoV, though I don't design things that work directly in conjunction with computers. I'm mainly concerned with embedded systems, both hardware and low-level software, and I don't write programs for running on computers (programming skill is confined to assembly language and embedded C).As a typical example, I suddenly find I can't bring the taskbar into view by moving the mouse cursor to the bottom of the screen, in order to switch from a Word document I've been working on to find another document in Windows Explorer. So I use Alt-tab to switch to Explorer. But if I now open a new document (eg a pdf), I then have to use Alt-tab to return to the Word document. However usually that isn't all that goes wrong, as I now find that clicking on something in the word document toolbar (eg to go from 'Home' tab in MS Word to the 'Insert' tab) doesn't work. All that happens is that Word goes out of keyboard 'focus' - the blue background to the toolbar goes grey, and I can't type anything. I then have to use Alt-tab to re-select MS Word (cycling through all the open windows) to bring MS Word back into focus. Since I can't use the mouse for selecting, I have to press Alt, then tab or arrow key to step through all the toolbar buttons and options till the one I want is selected, then press Enter on the keyboard. In other words, I'm reduced to keyboard-only mode.
Sometimes I can get out of this situation by closing one or more windows I don't currently need (by Alt-tabbing to bring up a window, then pressing Alt-F4 to close it). In extreme cases this won't cure the problem, and it remains in keyboard-only mode even with only one application open. The only thing I can do then is to close everything, switch off and reboot - even Restart is not enough, I actually have to switch off and on again.Has anyone else observed this behaviour with W7 or is it just my computer? I don't think it's a problem with the mouse itself: the cursor always moves around the screen normally, and I do get a response by clicking on a button. It's just that the response is wrong, it simply takes the whole application window out of focus so clicking no longer does anything in that window.
My windows operating system is not working properly. It's taking too much time to start. Sometime, after starting, internet connection isn't being connected. After restarting PC it connectes. Sometimes, after starting PC, a message shows that the windows wasn't shut down properly. Then some options come i.e. "Start windows normally" and so on. After pressing 'Enter' it starts.
I have issues with my live mail....I am receiving Email no problem, but I cant double click and open the message it just comes up with ' a problem has occured please try again'I have a similar problem when I click on my contacts - nothing shows up? When I try to start a new email message I am unable to choose a recipient? I have even tried putting my own email address in and sending to myself but it comes up saying the recipients are not valid
I was using my laptop (HP Pavilion dv6) just fine recently, and through half of yesterday. I did what I normally do when I leave a friends house...I shut it down correctly using the shut down option at the start menu, then pack it into my laptop bag (has a padded sleeve it fits into) and came home. Later that evening I tried to boot it up like normal. For some reason the wireless card takes forever to load and connect, so I typically turn it on and leave it there while I do something else. When I came back the PC said it was locked, which it never usually locks, especially after only 10 minutes. I unlocked the PC and it had my options for monitors (monitor only, expanded, monitor and tv, etc). I selected the PC monitor only and tried to load things like normal. Loaded a few programs and went to send an IM and the keyboard seemed to be stuck on the g or 8 key and wouldn't allow me to stop the input unless I clicked on the desktop. I could not click back in and delete it. Attempts to do so made the screen lock and give me the monitor options again.
At this point I figured it had to be virus/malware related so I tried to reboot into safe mode with networking. I got the options to come up but it was like the up arrow was stuck and wouldn't allow me to manually control and select an option. Had to hard reboot with the power key to try again. This time it would not move at all. I have two pc's and both have tTamviewer so I opened it on both and was able to remote in and do some scans. Spybot found a few things as well as Malwarebytes and I selected remove selected. Rebooted and still having the same issue. Tried scanning using my Avast Internet Security 7 scan and let it run overnight with Malwarebytes again. Malwarebytes brought back a PUP.funmoods (which I have uninstalled in add/remove programs and, while annoying it's showing up, don't believe to be the case because that was uninstalled months ago) and I had a huge list of files in Avast that said they could not be scanned. I have tried using system restore. I do notice when Windows boots up, it shows an empty command prompt box that eventually disappears and then a second one comes up later that says:
"AMD accelerated video transcoding device initialized Copyright (c) 2012 Advanced Micro Devices, Inc. All rights Reserved."
I did recently update my graphics card (ATI Mobility Radeon HD5650) to the latest driver. I have tried rolling back the driver and still no option. I entered the command in the command prompt to run check disk at next boot but it does not run or give an error. It just seems to skip it and go straight to Windows. A friend thought it was simply the input items on my PC giving it issues because the problem wasn't happening through Teamviewer on my Dell PC, however, that started exhibiting similar problems but not on the same scale.

I am having issues with the atheros ethernet, when I try to update drivers I get the following "This device is not working properly because Windows cannot load the drivers required for this device. (Code 31)".
I have Dell computer with Windows 7. I went to start it up, I have no login. I goes straight to my desktop. It has no start up or icons, just blank picture. What can I do?
I have an HP 2175 All-in-One printer and I've lost the installation cd. I followed the instructions as provided by the support pages directly from HP. Few things happened. First, most of the features of the printer were not working, such as one-touch scanning. If I'd select print landscape, the document would come out portrait. I tried uninstalling, and doing a fresh install, and I've been getting under the control panel device list multiple copies of the HP2175 printer (Copy 1... copy 2.... etc).
I'd like to know, how do I remove the drivers fully, and try a completely new install again, how do I get all the features to work, and how do I get rid of the extra copies of the device?
I just purchased a "refurbished" Dell Optiplex GX 620. When I turned it on everything worked fine until it rebooted after an automatic Microsoft update was installed. Now I have no sounds. According to the Device Manager "Your sound card is not working properly because a compatible driver is not available for this version of Windows." (I'm running Win7). My sound card is a SoundMAX Integrated Digital Audio. I have tried several SoundMAX drivers (found online) that said they were compatible but they don't work either.
I am running windows 7 and my cd rom is not working properly. It was reinstalled which seemed to help a LITTLE, but sometimes you have to incert a cd 7 or eight times before it will read it. I can see that there is a cd inserted (when I go to my computer I can see the D drive). Just doesn't read them all the time. I have a Dell with a vertical cd drive. When I view it through the control panel it says my driver is up to date.
I have an Acer Aspire One AOA150Bb running 7 Ultimate X86 and up until last week i think everything was running as normal but now when i drag my program windows it comes up with a black box outline as it does in the Basic theme why is this is there a quick fix to it or will i have to live with it or reinstall.
It is very strange. If I right click right now anywhere it will work. When I am in any game, however, it acts very strange. The right click sometimes does not register, and other times will be inconsistent.
For example, if I have to hold down the right button for me to eat a jelly bean, it will cancel mid hold, as if I had let go. This all started happening after an episode where I accidentally messed with sticky keys.
I have a Gioteck EX-05 headset, and when I plug it in, my computer detects it and installs the drivers, however it continues to play sound through its speakers and not my headset. The headset appears in device manager, but it is not listed as a playback device in the Devices and Printers section of the Control Panel. I have tried un-installing and Re-installing the drivers, but that doesn't work
The number pad on my acer laptop is out of wack. My toddlers got a hold my computer and must have changed a setting. Some of the numbers work...but when I press the 8...the screen reloads and erases part of the number sequence I already punched inAlso, the 6 above the letters does something similar. How do I reset the number pad so that I can use it?
So I recently dropped my laptop and as a result the hard drive isn't working properly. I'm going to buy a new hard drive and put it in, and then try to plug my old hard drive in and get the data off of it.I've got Windows Vista (Home Premium) on my laptop but I want to upgrade to Windows 7. Will I need to buy a Windows 7 upgrade or will I need the buy the entire thing? Because I don't have a Vista recovery disc (it didn't come with my laptop). Another thing is: my brother has the CDs for Windows 7 but he just doesn't have a spare licence key for me to use. What I basically want to be able to do is put Windows 7 on my laptop
Just bought a new Lenovo G770 5 days ago. Running Win7 64bit. The system repeatedly thinks the CTRL key is being pressed when it isn't. In the middle of typing a sentence, suddenly every letter I type performs the associated ctrl key action. The only remedy is a complete reboot (and loss of data in the process). I have googled this problem and it seems pretty common, but all I've found are a lot of suggestions (some of them too technical) and no clear solutions. Some of the non-useful suggestions I've gotten already: "Wedge the CTRL key up" ~ it is not physically stuck; I have not even touched the key when this happens. If the key were simply physically stuck, a reboot would not solve the problem. "Clean your keyboard" ~ the keyboard is not dirty; it's 5 days old.
when i plug my headphones they are recognized and everything but just say i watch a Internet video with commentary i can faintly hear the commentary but mainly what i can hear is some kind of music that is not related to the video. but if i watch it without headphone there is no music.
my OS Win 7x64 IE9 and just started experiencing a problem with connecting to the internet. The issue arises when I first connect to the internet. After a few minutes things freeze and there is no response when I move the mouse or attempt to click. Then I am abruptly disconnected from the internet. After a few seconds I am reconnected.Thinking that it may be a virus or other malware I ran MBAM, SAS and MSE along with RKill and TDSS killer. All results are negative. Just wondering what is causing this and how does one correct it.I have not added any new programs or such and the only thing replaced recently is a new mouse.
I have a duel boot desk top computer. Windows Xp x 32 and Windows 7 x 64. I modified my server load screen and wanted to check it so I hit the print screen key and pasted it to paint and all I get is a back screen instead of the load screen image. Then I took a image of my desk top and the image is fine. Did the same thing on windows xp and everything is fine, the load screen image and the desk are image are coming out just the way there suppose to. Is there a setting that I'm missing on windows 7 that could be causing my problem.
i opened system protection today to find it hasnt been making restore points and that there was an error when i tried to set it up.My system came with Vista which I then set up to dual boot with 7, and then following that, I deleted Vista altogether. In system restore, I can see
System Windows 7 C: (system) Recovery Windows 7 C: (missing) Windows 7 C: (missing)
I think at least one of system /recovery my belong to Vista, as they dont show up in windows explorer?
The touchpad stopped working properly about 8 months ago. It was not a big matter to me as i only use USB mouse as pointing device. But yesterday i experianced a strange error. WHEN I START WINDOWS THE CURSOR AUTOMATICALLY SELECTS THE LAST ICON ON MY DESKTOP AND IT STRATS BLINKING.EVEN WHEN I OPEN "MY COMPUTER" OR ANY FOLDER OR ANY DROP DOWN MENU,IT OPENS WITH THE LAST DRIVE/THE LAST FOLDER/THE LAST FILE PRESELECTED AND WHEN I CLICK ANY OTHER DRIVE OR FOLDER THE CURSOR ONLY OPENS THE LAST DRIVE/FOLDER/FILE WHICH MEANS I CAN'T USE MY COMPUTER AT ALL.But sometimes it works fine about 30 mins and then again the same problem begins.
So I'm having a problem with my desktop Icons. The shortcuts are all working but their Icons are not unless I set my desktop to show large icons, which looks ridiculous. I have reset the Icon Cache twice without success.
