when i plug my headphones they are recognized and everything but just say i watch a Internet video with commentary i can faintly hear the commentary but mainly what i can hear is some kind of music that is not related to the video. but if i watch it without headphone there is no music.
So I just got an update for Windows and after the update my headphones stop working. Sound still works with the integrated speakers but whenever I plug in my headphones they don't work. I've tried making the headphones the default device and that didn't work. I have BeatsAudio on my computer so I would like to know which driver update I need to try and fix the issue.
After my desktop with XP crashed, I recovered along with a clean install of Windows 7. The processor is an Intel Core 2 Duo with the onboard audio device showing Microsoft as the manufacturer. The front headphone port worked for about a week after the recovery, then just stopped. Moving the headphone jack to the rear port continues to work fine. I plugged the speaker jack in the front port and there is no sound, same as the headphones.
To troubleshoot I've tried the "Update Driver" and MS says I'm using the most up-to-date driver. Where you view what devices are recognized by the sound system it displays a speaker icon, but there is no option to add headphones. The desktop is a custom-built one (not an HP, Dell or Lenovo, for example). I don't know if this audio problem is a hardware failure or related to the Windows 7 install.
I have an Hp625 running Windows 7 Basic 32 bit - I can play music through my laptops built in speakers without any problems, but when I plug headphones (or external computer speakers) into the headphone jack no sound comes through them (and simultaneously the laptop speakers go mute). My computer is dual boot with ubuntu, and this problem appeared when I upgraded my Ubuntu version - still, I know that the jack works as it is working fine in Ubuntu, and Im sure the problem is fixable within windows!
My computer is using the IDT audio control panel, and according to windows everything us up to date and fine.
I have a Sony Vaio VPCEB4E4E. Just re installed windows and now I have no sound output through headphone jack. Installed the Realtek HD Audio driver from the sony website
I upgraded from Windows XP to Windows 7 64bit. In XP, I used the front panel headphone jack for hooking up to my TV, or headset. Since I've upgraded, this headphone jack doesn't work. The 'Manage Audio devices' in the control panel shows headphones as not connected in the front jack. The microphone works fine.
I've tried looking for updated drivers - I have the latest. I tried to switch the BIOS settings from HDaudio to AC97 - doesn't work. I tried to install the Soundmax High Definition Audio utility from my motherboard installation disk, but Windows 7 won't let me run the setup (not compatible with the OS).
I'm having a problem with my Front mic jack not working, I can't tell if it's my mic, or the jack itself it's kinda upsetting because i do a lot of online gaming and can't speakwith them, and i sometimes do commentary! My computer:
Acer Aspire 5733Z Intel Pentium (R) P6200 2.13 GHZ. 4GB RAM 64 bit Windows 7 Home Premium
i was wondering my speaker jack worked part of the time then quit is there anything i can do to make it make contact? You can here it go in and half way it hums
i bought a new computer 1 week ago windows 7 home prium model#h8-1124- i installed the magic jack that i had for 2 years and it worked for 2 days. now i cannot make or recieve calls and the computer won't let me access the majic jack website to truoble shoot problem.
Last month I built my own computer. I am having a problem with my Front I/O audio jacks.- Headset is Beats by Dr. Dre Solo HD- I have went into BIOS and enabled my Front I/O- My front I/O is properly connected to my Motherboard- My driver is Realtek HD R267 (Newest driver)I have looked up this problem for quite some time but can't find a way to fix it. People have said to go into Realtek Audio HD Manager and click on the folder next to analog and untick disable front detection. I don't have this folder
My Moterboard is asus m2n68-am plus , problem is that in windows 7 my front audio jack not working.ihave tried many latest realtech audio drivers but nothing , the problem is still continue.
My cpu front panel headfone&speaker jack is not working. If iam inserting headset &mic its not detected.if i am connecting it from back then it is working. Is it a hardware problem or software problem.................?I have checked out my cpu internal connections by removing the cabinet .Every thing is connected internally
I built a barebone kit and installed Windows 7 Ultimate 64bit, I installed all the drivers correctly but for some reason Windows keeps detecting the front audio jack as if someone is repeatedly pushing in and out headphones(no pun intended). Audio doesn't work at all through front and back audio jacks, only HDMI. I only get static from the audio jacks.
A few days ago, one half of the jack of my external speakers got stuck in the female jack of my PC laptop.I am using Realtek HD audio, and I wanted to ask whether it is possible for me to somehow disable the jack and have my audio played through my normal inbuilt laptop speakers, seeing as I will be needing audio from my computer as soon as possible.
My headfone jack (incorporated on the motherboard) is broken, and I bought a USB adaptor to conect my head fones, but it has a low quality.I came to know that it's possible to switch the microfone jack to use it has a audio jack, but I cant figure or research how. I use windows home premium 64bits.

Basically, my HP DV6-3065EA running Windows 7 Home Premium (x64) laptop died. I went into a computer shop and asked how much a simple diagnostic test would be to find out how much a repair would be. He quoted me 90. Phew, jog on! That wasn't going to happen!Anyway, I decided to replace the power jack. No hard job, just a simple unplug and plug back in job. (looks abit like this Hp power jack image by chikyeung on Photobucket). I replaced it; everything is running fine. I tried to put a USB pen drive into a usb socket. Didn't work. Tried another, didn't work. I have tried several devices and they all work on other computers but don't seem to be working on mine. I have been trawling the internet for answers, and as of yet, nothing -.-! I wouldn't call myself a novice, trust me, I've tried everything, uninstalling and reinstalling all of the USB drivers, checking bits of the registry.etc. Nothing. So today, i thought, right, WIPE THE COMPUTER! I backed up everything, went back to scratch.
I have a new, custom build and cannot get the front audio to work. The two USB ports along side the Mic and Headphone jacks work fine.
System Specs The motherboard is a GA-990XA-UD3. Chipset AMD RD9XO Rev 02. Southbridge AMD SB10/950 R40. Bios Award Software Ver F8 CPU: AMD Phenom II x6 1090T Black Edition Tuban HDT90ZFBGRBOX Memory: Corsair Vengeance 16GB 4 x 4GB CMZ16GX3M4A1600C9 OS: Windows 7 (6.1) Home Premium SP 1 (Build 7601) 64 bit. Direct X 11.0 Don't think it makes a difference but I am running displayport out of the graphics card (Zotac 560 ZT-50701-10M) into the monitor (NEC PA241)
I downloaded updated drivers for the Reatec HD Audio Manager but that made no difference. Audio out from the back panel works fine.
I am running windows 7 and my cd rom is not working properly. It was reinstalled which seemed to help a LITTLE, but sometimes you have to incert a cd 7 or eight times before it will read it. I can see that there is a cd inserted (when I go to my computer I can see the D drive). Just doesn't read them all the time. I have a Dell with a vertical cd drive. When I view it through the control panel it says my driver is up to date.
I have an Acer Aspire One AOA150Bb running 7 Ultimate X86 and up until last week i think everything was running as normal but now when i drag my program windows it comes up with a black box outline as it does in the Basic theme why is this is there a quick fix to it or will i have to live with it or reinstall.
It is very strange. If I right click right now anywhere it will work. When I am in any game, however, it acts very strange. The right click sometimes does not register, and other times will be inconsistent.
For example, if I have to hold down the right button for me to eat a jelly bean, it will cancel mid hold, as if I had let go. This all started happening after an episode where I accidentally messed with sticky keys.
I have a Gioteck EX-05 headset, and when I plug it in, my computer detects it and installs the drivers, however it continues to play sound through its speakers and not my headset. The headset appears in device manager, but it is not listed as a playback device in the Devices and Printers section of the Control Panel. I have tried un-installing and Re-installing the drivers, but that doesn't work
The number pad on my acer laptop is out of wack. My toddlers got a hold my computer and must have changed a setting. Some of the numbers work...but when I press the 8...the screen reloads and erases part of the number sequence I already punched inAlso, the 6 above the letters does something similar. How do I reset the number pad so that I can use it?
So I recently dropped my laptop and as a result the hard drive isn't working properly. I'm going to buy a new hard drive and put it in, and then try to plug my old hard drive in and get the data off of it.I've got Windows Vista (Home Premium) on my laptop but I want to upgrade to Windows 7. Will I need to buy a Windows 7 upgrade or will I need the buy the entire thing? Because I don't have a Vista recovery disc (it didn't come with my laptop). Another thing is: my brother has the CDs for Windows 7 but he just doesn't have a spare licence key for me to use. What I basically want to be able to do is put Windows 7 on my laptop
Just bought a new Lenovo G770 5 days ago. Running Win7 64bit. The system repeatedly thinks the CTRL key is being pressed when it isn't. In the middle of typing a sentence, suddenly every letter I type performs the associated ctrl key action. The only remedy is a complete reboot (and loss of data in the process). I have googled this problem and it seems pretty common, but all I've found are a lot of suggestions (some of them too technical) and no clear solutions. Some of the non-useful suggestions I've gotten already: "Wedge the CTRL key up" ~ it is not physically stuck; I have not even touched the key when this happens. If the key were simply physically stuck, a reboot would not solve the problem. "Clean your keyboard" ~ the keyboard is not dirty; it's 5 days old.
I recently did the update they windows 7 prompted me to do and now nothing seems to be working properly.- gadgets not loading ( blue square with !)- Skype not working, tried uninstalling, reinstalling,etc-Internet explorer problems- can not get to my email through my desktop and when I use Mozilla it won't let me update to the newest version.-computer running slow- cannot open some programs
