I built a barebone kit and installed Windows 7 Ultimate 64bit, I installed all the drivers correctly but for some reason Windows keeps detecting the front audio jack as if someone is repeatedly pushing in and out headphones(no pun intended). Audio doesn't work at all through front and back audio jacks, only HDMI. I only get static from the audio jacks.
View 2 Replies I've got a bit of a problem with my audio with my new installation of Windows 7. Previously I had Vista installed, and had no problems with my Realtek HD audio. Installed Windows 7 everything looked good, then realized my Sony A/V receiver model SA-WCT100 was not outputting my movie collection in surround 5.1 like it use to using Vista.
I figured, that�s cool, probably need to install ac3filter_1_51a, I had to in Vista, and it worked a treat when I enabled SPDIF pass through. I guess I should mention I�m using HDMI all the way through, from my PC to the receiver, from the receiver to the LCD. Well, that didn't fix it, everything still plays in stereo. After scratching my head and clicking here and there, I finally found a little tab in the sound settings of my Realtek HDMI setting called 'Custom'.
I selected it, it said to enable AC3, DTS, etc click this box will require a restart. I said awesome, sounds like just what I need. I clicked, and rebooted. I went into WMC, and setup my audio wizard again, and selected 5.1, and tested, and this time it reported 5.1 on my Sony receiver as before it only showed 2 channels (Stereo). I played some of my DVD rips, and bam my DVD rips were playing surround sound again.
I was like that was easy enough. I went to test my Blu-Ray rips that I had converted to WMV HD using TMPGEnc Xpress 4.0, and the video started to play, and I was like, wheres the damn sound. I noticed on the receiver, it didn't report anything for sound. I had no idea what was going on. My surround sound was finally working for everything, but my WMV HD videos had no sound output. I mean I can't even get stereo or anything out of them now. At least before the WMV played in stereo, now I can't hear anything.
Please someone tell me what could be the problem, I don't know what else to try. I don't want to have to revert back to stereo, and disable the magic box under custom in my sound setting.
I have downloaded the latest Realtek drivers form Realtek, version 2.35 for the ATI HDMI audio, and the Digital Audio. I also have the latest drivers for my integrated Radeon 3200 graphics card. I read that sometimes a high resolution can affect the audio, so I lowered my resolution from 1080p, and that didn't help, which I figured it wouldn't.
so i have a desktop running two monitors one via hdmi one via dvi i have my main desktop on one monitor to do internet Internet etc. and run stuff like movies games and stuff on the other. can i run two sets of audio one from the audio jack on my pc one from the hdmi to the screen? if not is there any other way to accomplish this?

I upgraded to ultimate 7 64 bit.... I have ATI HDMI audio.
My laptop is using an external monitor which I am connected to via HDMI. This monitor has an audio output that goes to computer speakers.
Programs like itunes will play audio perfectly, however when I try to watch a dvd i get nothing but static sounds. I have used windows media player, and windvd... same static audio sounds.
*When my computer is not connected to the external monitor via hdmi, the sound works fine when playing a dvd and coming out of laptop speakers...
My audio jack or headphones on Dell Vostro 1015 do not produce sound. The computer recognizes and displays that a headphone has been inserted. The in-built speakers work well. I have uninstalled and reinstalled the high definition audio drivers. I have tried to troubleshoot it with the Windows 7 Professional 32 bit troubleshooter but it does not work. It was working well until a few days ago. I have done a sfc/scannow on it.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI've recently purchased a Samsung T23A750 monitor and to my disappointment when I try to watch a movie the built in speakers are not functioning. I have a Sony Vaio Z216GX connected via HDMI to the monitor (HDMI-DVI) port. I can definitely see the video, but no audio is playing from the speakers. The built in speakers are not at fault- I did a self-diagnosis of the monitor and the speakers seem to work fine. I also set the monitor as the default for the audio and even when Win 7 says its functioning properly, the speakers still don't work. Conversely, setting the default to my PC speakers work fine. I'm sure its not the HDMI cable- I used the same one to hook my pc to my tv with everything working fine.

I'm using an HDMI to HDMI cable, and like I said the video is fine. Also, when the cable is plugged into my boyfriend's laptop, the sound comes out of the TV.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI just downloaded new drivers for my Realtek Audio and now every 20 minutes or so I'm getting a message pop up saying "You just unplugged a device from the audio jack." and for about 2 seconds audio won't work, then it will work fine. This has only happened after I downloaded the new drivers. I've checked the physical speaker connection and it's properly in there.I don't know how to get the exact name for my sound card so if that's needed please tell me how.I suspect that it might be because of some other out of date driver, if it is so I would be very grateful if you could give me links to where I could download drivers because besides this update and graphics cards updates I have no idea how to update any other drivers.

Ive uninstalled and reinstalled the drivers from my mobo's disk and went through the realtek website and tried every driver I could find there. The system recognizes the speakers and shows them as putting out sound, but I get nothing. I've even ran through the BIOS to make sure nothing was amiss there.
View 31 Replies View RelatedI have a Touchmate PC with two sets of audio ports (3.55mm jacks or 1/8" ) the front ones are not working (because they are disconnected) so i wish to use the rear ones, however, windows is set up so that the audio output (into my headphones) send information through all ports but the front mic, which is fine because i use the rear output port. My problem is that the microphone settings will only allow the microphone to be read through the front microphone port. Is there any way i can change these settings so that the microphone reads through the rear microphone port.
