GA-990XA-UD3 Front Audio - Headphone And Mic Not Working?
Jul 22, 2012
I have a new, custom build and cannot get the front audio to work. The two USB ports along side the Mic and Headphone jacks work fine.
System Specs
The motherboard is a GA-990XA-UD3. Chipset AMD RD9XO Rev 02. Southbridge AMD
SB10/950 R40. Bios Award Software Ver F8
CPU: AMD Phenom II x6 1090T Black Edition Tuban HDT90ZFBGRBOX
Memory: Corsair Vengeance 16GB 4 x 4GB CMZ16GX3M4A1600C9
OS: Windows 7 (6.1) Home Premium SP 1 (Build 7601) 64 bit. Direct X 11.0
Don't think it makes a difference but I am running displayport out of the graphics card (Zotac 560 ZT-50701-10M) into the monitor (NEC PA241)
I downloaded updated drivers for the Reatec HD Audio Manager but that made no difference. Audio out from the back panel works fine.
So I just got an update for Windows and after the update my headphones stop working. Sound still works with the integrated speakers but whenever I plug in my headphones they don't work. I've tried making the headphones the default device and that didn't work. I have BeatsAudio on my computer so I would like to know which driver update I need to try and fix the issue.
Last month I built my own computer. I am having a problem with my Front I/O audio jacks.- Headset is Beats by Dr. Dre Solo HD- I have went into BIOS and enabled my Front I/O- My front I/O is properly connected to my Motherboard- My driver is Realtek HD R267 (Newest driver)I have looked up this problem for quite some time but can't find a way to fix it. People have said to go into Realtek Audio HD Manager and click on the folder next to analog and untick disable front detection. I don't have this folder
My Moterboard is asus m2n68-am plus , problem is that in windows 7 my front audio jack not working.ihave tried many latest realtech audio drivers but nothing , the problem is still continue.
I upgraded from Windows XP to Windows 7 64bit. In XP, I used the front panel headphone jack for hooking up to my TV, or headset. Since I've upgraded, this headphone jack doesn't work. The 'Manage Audio devices' in the control panel shows headphones as not connected in the front jack. The microphone works fine.
I've tried looking for updated drivers - I have the latest. I tried to switch the BIOS settings from HDaudio to AC97 - doesn't work. I tried to install the Soundmax High Definition Audio utility from my motherboard installation disk, but Windows 7 won't let me run the setup (not compatible with the OS).
I have an hp media center PC m7350n and I have upgraded from Windows XP to Windows 7, I also installed a new graphics card AMD Radeon HD 6450. When I was working on Windows XP my front panel audio was working for my headsets and microphone. Since I've upgraded my headsets and microphone don't work anymore. I tried many different things but didn't work. I first checked the connections inside the PC then I upgraded to the last Realtek HD driver, I looked in the bios nothing there to be done, I don't even have an option for front panel. The only option I have is onboard audio- auto/enable and disable which only works on enable. Then I looked in Realtek audio manager and the front panel connectors are greyed out or lighter than all the other connectors. When I plug in my headsets and microphone nothing happens and speakers still work. I checked mark disable back connectors when headsets are plugged in and nothing changes. The only change I have is when I check out mute microphone boost I have a squelching sound in my headsets. All the forums talk about Bios and front panel enabled and alc97 which I do not have as an option.
I have this motherboard. and get no audio when I plug in headphones in the front or back ports. I'm running win 7 so there aren't compatible drivers available on asus site, I tried downloading the vista x64 and installing them in compatibility mode but the device manager shows "High Definition Audio Device" so I think it's still using a generic windows driver.
Also tried these: Realtek
Sound>Playback shows Digital Audio (S/PDIF) and sound bars move while playing a mp3 or movie but still no audio. Usually speakers and headphones show up I though? I don't even see them when I choose show disabled devices. I tested usb headphones and got audio but I really need those 3.5 jacks to work.
The audio on this board is: Realtek ALC662, 6-CH High-Definition Audio CODEC
I've also reset the bios, and the mic shows up and receives data when plugged in but still no sound.
I just had to move my graphics card to another slot for access to another PCIE slot. And my back audio sound jack stopped working. Ive tried with my monitor speaker and headphones and it does not work. Specs:
windows 7 i7 3930k 32gb of ripjaws Z noctua nh-d14 thermal take level 10 gt x79 sabertooth
My front panel audio does not work either. I got bios set to HD audio and i am using the hd audio plug
I have a front audio panel and a CMI 8738-6ch sound card. The front audio does not work and has a wire coming directly from the back of it with this plug on the end of it... There are 4 wires going into this plug.On the sound card I have a 4 pin connector which, by trying with the computer turned off, I know fits this plug. Despite them fitting together, this being the only wire coming from the front audio panel and plug being on the sound card we all know that naivety often makes 2+2 = 5?
when i plug my headphones they are recognized and everything but just say i watch a Internet video with commentary i can faintly hear the commentary but mainly what i can hear is some kind of music that is not related to the video. but if i watch it without headphone there is no music.
I rercently came with the following problem without any reason:I have a realtek audio chipset with my mother board.Since some time, the HD audio drivers keeps on detecting/undetecting a device plugged in my front jack (resulting is sound cutoff, which is more than annoying). But, there is nothing plugged. If I plug something then, the detection works right.I'm wondering if it is a software problem, or if there is something wrong with my motherboard or my front jack connector (some kind of shortcut or whatever).
After my desktop with XP crashed, I recovered along with a clean install of Windows 7. The processor is an Intel Core 2 Duo with the onboard audio device showing Microsoft as the manufacturer. The front headphone port worked for about a week after the recovery, then just stopped. Moving the headphone jack to the rear port continues to work fine. I plugged the speaker jack in the front port and there is no sound, same as the headphones.
To troubleshoot I've tried the "Update Driver" and MS says I'm using the most up-to-date driver. Where you view what devices are recognized by the sound system it displays a speaker icon, but there is no option to add headphones. The desktop is a custom-built one (not an HP, Dell or Lenovo, for example). I don't know if this audio problem is a hardware failure or related to the Windows 7 install.
I have realtek ALC898, part of gigabyte Z77 UD5h mobo, windows 7 ultimate 64bit. Rear jack speakers always work, sound always works. But after sleep, the front panel audio jack does not work, ie headphones silent.
Workaround 1) go to device manager, disable realtek high definition audio, then enable it, then front panel audio jack works properly. workaround 2) restart the computer and it works again.
I tried disabling sleep and using hibernate, since I read somewhere that hibernate is like a restart, but apparently it is not. Using hibernate, once it resumes from hibernate, front jack still doesnt work just like using sleep mode.
It sounds like resuming from sleep mode or hibernate mode, that windows 7 is failing to reinitialize some of the realtek audio drivers, at least those associated with front panel audio jack for headphones. So have to restart or disable/enable realtek high def audio in device manager. I have most recent realtek drivers, tried both from realtek, and most recent from Gigabyte, both have same issue. My windows 7 is fully up to date.
Am I right in this is just failure of 7 to reinitialize some drivers?
I just realized that stereo output is inverted (L&R are swapped) on my Realtek front panel headphones connector and on my M-Audio Firewire card. Output is OK on Realtek rear main/front speakers connector.
I have an Hp625 running Windows 7 Basic 32 bit - I can play music through my laptops built in speakers without any problems, but when I plug headphones (or external computer speakers) into the headphone jack no sound comes through them (and simultaneously the laptop speakers go mute). My computer is dual boot with ubuntu, and this problem appeared when I upgraded my Ubuntu version - still, I know that the jack works as it is working fine in Ubuntu, and Im sure the problem is fixable within windows!
My computer is using the IDT audio control panel, and according to windows everything us up to date and fine.
My cpu front panel headfone&speaker jack is not working. If iam inserting headset &mic its not detected.if i am connecting it from back then it is working. Is it a hardware problem or software problem.................?I have checked out my cpu internal connections by removing the cabinet .Every thing is connected internally
I recently got a new power supply and video card for my computer. It has been working great but on accident one day I broke the plastic divider inside one of my usb ports so that one no longer worked and now my other usb port is not working. It will not recognize anything plugged into it and my phone can't even charge through it. It did the same thing a few days ago but it randomly started working again but now it isn't and I don't know how to get it back or make it stop. The usb ports on the back of the pc are still working though, my keyboard and mouse are plugged in through it and haven't stopped working once.
My sound card Xonar D1 doesn't work properly and i wrote to ASUS and they told me to connect the "HD audio" or "speaker" cables from the front panel of motherboard to the sound card's front panel. Is that safe to do? weather it will work or not, is it safe to try?
I've just installed Win 7 on my Toshiba M100. After installation, the sound driver (Realtek HD Audio) is automatically detected and it works in a very riddiculous way:- In the Sound Setting --> Playback tab --> There're TWO speakers, both are High definition audio device and look exactly the same. If I set the first speaker as default, then I can hear sound from the laptop's speakers but when I plugin my headphone, I can not hear anything !!! If I set the second speaker as default, then the laptop's speakers doesn't work, but when I plugin my headphone, I can hear sound from my headphoneThis is very riddiculous and annoying, having to switch default sound device everytime I plugin or take out the headphone is almost absurd
i have a hp dv6700 laptop and im having issues with my sound. recently the audio device has magically vanished from my system. now i would take it as bad hardware and cry myself to sleep but yesterday while watching a Internet video the sound worked and my audio device was back. sadly i had also just finished installing a new av and had to restart and my audio device was missing again.[code]
